I think it would be neat to have a chat room like feature here. I am not sure how many people would actually use it, I would though.
Anyone else like the idea?

I had my second subscription sale yesterday. While I don't really like getting them, they do boost the popularity of the file, which is the default search order for buyers.

Jon (Oringer) said on SS forums that this is not an option for new buyers, just people who registered as a buyer but never actually bought a subscription plan.

On FT i just passed "Bronze" (100 Dl's) yesterday and I sold an EL today, but there's a problem:
EL earnings must raise from 20 to 50 credits when you are bronze!! My EL is the 101 Dl's and no raise for me!! Always 20 Crdits!!! Certainly another bug, shame on Fotolia!
Somebody else have encountered the same bug?
You have to change the price. It doesn't automatically do it. You can e-mail them and they will change your entire portfolio to 50 credits so you don't have to go through each image.

25/44 approved. Not too bad for StockXpert. Although, the rejection reason doesn't make sense for one. Color fringe on a grayscale image?

First sale. Only .30c, but it's a start. Only uploaded 15 images as well.

Ummm I think mine goes like this: FT - 3 SS - 1 LO - 1 I don't have a very large portfolio, and a lot of it is illustrations, which don't seem to get ELs as much as photos. But, I am quickly submitting photos. Those numbers are since March/April.

For many of us, EL sales are rare and when we do get one it is cause for a celebration. So if you have gotten an EL sale recently, post the image here! Of course I created this topic because I got an EL sale today, so I shall start. First EL from LuckyOliver, this * image has 1445 views (It is on the first page of google search "yellow star" or something) and has never sold until today. $25, which means I might actually have a chance of getting a payout from LO in the next year! Ok heres the image: Now share your story!

So, I think from this thread if I find time to focus on one new site in November it should be Crestock over SV?
I would yes. I do submit to both, but I am slowly uploading to SV since there is no FTP and you can only upload 5 at a time. Crestock review times are a little lengthy.

Well, after 1 week at Crestock, they have Bigstock beat for the entire month. Not to mention uploading is quicker. So far, so good for me. $50 payout would be better though. >.>

Big 6:
Shutterstock - 2 days Fotolia - 1 day Dreamstime - 3 days Istockphoto - 7 days StockXpert - 3 days Bigstockphoto - 5 days
Up and Coming:
123RF - 1 day Canstockphoto - 12+ days Crestock - LuckyOliver - 10 days
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Got recent information? Post it here so this can be as up-to-date as possible. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reason for this topic: I often wonder how long its going to take for my files to be reviewed, so this would give me a good idea how long the wait currently is. This can be strategically helpful for Shutterstock. (Don't submit when files will be new on weekend)

My sales have dropped dramatically from the first half of this month. Whether that has anything to do with the new subscriptions or whether it is just ebb and flow is a toss up. I have only had 1 subscription download so far. Regardless, this is easily my BME on StockXpert.

So which ones are the best of the worst? (The New sites/low earners)
Which ones do you think are worth uploading to?

I am just now starting to upload there. Only 4 online so far. $2.30 sale though. Lots of rejections though, especially on illustrations.

I think I'm going to pass on uploading all of my files until they come out with FTP, which they say they are working on. Hopefully it won't be too long.

you make a good point that webiste is important. I dread ever wanting to try and delete or edit a photo on shutterstock. To try and figure out which upload batch it is in is nearly impossible...
here is my suggestions (out of 10)
earnings x 5 upload x 2 service x 1 consistency x 1 website x 1
That seems good. Now somehow make it work. Something like what gamesbids has for bid index would be awesome, but I have no idea how that works. http://www.gamesbids.com <-- can see it on the right.

I think earnings should have the highest weight percentage. If you increase the weight of ease of upload then that reduces the weight for earnings. I would much rather spend time uploading to a site like iStock (which is a royal pain in the ass) than to a site like Crestock. Reason being, the uploads on iStock will actually make you money, the time you spent on Crestock will get you hardly anything.
(I do upload to Crestock, and have nothing against them.)
Website should be more than .5 (as suggested by some) because having the ability to edit your files information easily and check detailed statistics is important, in my opinion at least. Certainly weighted more than .5.

with the 'overall' category i just wanted sort of an overall rating for the site. i thought about trying to calculate one automatically - which is perhaps what i should do but then the various catagories whould be weighted different. Earnings is perhaps one of the most important factors so it should be weighted heavier. - so in the end I decided to just let everyone vote for their 'overall opinion' of a site.
Heres an idea for a calculation: Earnings x 5 Upload x 1.5 Service x .5 Consistency x 1 Website x 1.5 42 13.05 3.75 8.1 12.45 Shutterstock = 79.35 29.5 11.1 2.65 6.9 11.25 Dreamstime = 61.40 36.5 5.25 2.65 6.6 10.95 Istockphoto = 61.95 25 11.7 3.4 4.6 11.25 StockXpert = 55.95 25 8.85 2.35 6.3 8.85 Fotolia = 51.35 19 9.9 3.15 7.4 9.15 Bigstockphoto = 48.60 You can add overall in there somewhere too, that might make it more accurate.
