wow, brilliant! Thanks Leo!
Any thoughts on the two page templates I mentioned above? Nothing fancy, just a full width one and one that includes the sidebar? 553
Symbiostock - Suggestions / Re: Set Priority Levels for Future Development« on: April 03, 2013, 01:57 »another suggestion... I'm just trying to think of SEO benefits. Having "Stock Photo" at the end might be helpful, as do most of the agencies. So I guess it would need to be added to the Title AND the slug in the URL. The actual file name shouldn't matter I wouldn't think. What are your thoughts? Worth it? 554
Symbiostock - Suggestions / Re: Set Priority Levels for Future Development« on: April 03, 2013, 01:42 »
another suggestion...
In the admin section, how about an option of appending certain text to every image slug. For instance, some might want to add "stock-photo" to every image, without having to type it in manually. So we could have a text box to enter what we want into, and then it appends that data to every image upon upload/process? 555

Hey leo, would it be too much trouble in the next testing release or two to include 2 page templates - 1. Fullwidth Page, 2. Page with sidebar.
These would just really help us layout our sites a bit better. Not sure if thats much work? (I didn't think it was, but what do I know!?) 556

sorry, I keep replying at the same time as you!
So try converting one of your files to .JPG and it will replicate the same thing. Not that I'm against sending you my files, just that I've gotta run for the night. See ya! I'll keep plugging away at this tomorrow arvo. (that's "afternoon" for all you non-australians) ![]() 557

Sorry, more error testing and I have found it is indeed only .JPG that breaks (not the underscore from what I can see)
Not much point sending you one, as you can change any jpg at your end to it. It's not that common, but many point and shoot cameras do use it as an extension. 558

And you can buy the camel shot too Leo - you see, I've got this great new website powered by some coding guru from the islands and it allows everyone to buy as many camel shots as they like.

I reckon thats it, I just tried it again, one with the .JPG and one just .jpg and it works on the 2nd file but not the first. Might need to loosen up the upload parameters a bit? 560

WAIT - just noticed the files that failed were .JPG (notice the uppercase), which is still a valid jpg but perhaps thats the problem?
Also, I think the other files that might have failed had a "_" (underscore) in the name. 561

Just .jpg files. they are small though - is there issue with files being too small in either pixels or filesize? They are all 3-4mp and about 1-3mb in size. 562

Leo I keep hitting something with image uploads. It's no longer a BIG size issue, as I am uploading some 3MP files at the moment and about 30% of them come up with this
No matching image files found. You may have named them incorrectly. Fix problem and re-upload. This file has been removed. Example: "my_stock_art.eps" or "my_stock_art.zip" must have accompanying ""my_stock_art.jpg" to be considered a valid set/file. They are ALL photos, haven't uploaded a single vector yet. Any ideas? I'm using the site uploader, not ftp. And using bluehost now. 565

nice leo, up and running with the latest version on my brand new host (bluehost, thanks to everyones recommendations) and new domain.
www.thpstockphotos.com Just one little bug, I have manage to upload huge files now which is great, but I had one error before I upped the max_ limits and now the error log wont stop showing in the process images page. I have deleted it multiple times but its still there. Not a biggie though. 568

Preview Option Price - US Dollars ($)
121 jpg, Large 3100 2022px 10.33" 6.74" @ 300 dpi $20.00 Problem with what is displayed in the customers cart - under "Option" it lists the image's assigned number (in this case "121"), which is meaningless for the client. Can we get it to show the images Title instead? 569

But clicking it currently doesn't achieve anything, does it? Thus why I feel it might be good to do without it. It just leads away from the site essentially.

I'm just mentioning all the little things im noticing as I work on it, I hope thats not annoying Leo. Most of them are tiny.
- On the image detail page, when the image is clicked it just displays in a blank browser screen. Would be good to remove the ability to click it, until (or if?) we get a 'zoom' feature way down the track. 572

Some things I think we need to see in Symbiostock in the near future (Leo - please see this as a way to improve the product, not as a nit-picking list of demands!
![]() - Ability to easily have different sidebars for different pages/posts - Simple tickbox on each page to "Allow Comments" or not, with a global option as well - Show Author info - yes/no option in Admin interface - Basic contact form - Colour pickers, styling options - some more Symbiostock widgets - Most Popular Files, Latest Uploads, Discounted Images etc etc Of course the actual functionality is first and foremost at the moment! 575
Symbiostock - Development Area / Re: Child Theme questions« on: March 31, 2013, 22:24 »Can anyone tell me how to get rid of, or change, the menu items up in the top right of the default design? Hey steve, go to Appearance, Menu's and then Create a Menu. Once you have created a menu, you should see a box on the left that contains 4 dropdown menus for 4 different menu locations. You can create 4 menu's, one for each location. Add pages to each menu by simply ticking the page and clicking "Add to Menu", then save. Then select the right menu for the right location in the Theme Locations box on the left, save it and it should all work! |
