The image is from the "Pixland" collection, which was previously on Jupiter - was that one of the wholly owned collections?

Well whatever the change, it looks like its only a couple of days old. Have been checking my latest upload which went straight to #1 on my images, but wasn't turning up in the search at a reasonable ranking until today. Now its on pg 1 for the relevant search - will be interesting to see how it goes.
Have uploaded a bigger batch as well - will be interesting to see how review times have progressed!

For anyone still interested in this topic... I just tested out imacros for chrome: http://www.filetransit.com/view.php?id=114719 on OSX. recorded the following macro - then set it to loop. Depending on your connection speed, it should take about 10 mins per 100 files. This will basically delete the files starting from your lowest downloads. VERSION BUILD=1100208 RECORDER=CR URL GOTO=http://www.dreamstime.com/onlinefiles.php?pg=1&srchby=&orderc=downloads&orderm=ASC TAG POS=1 TYPE=IMG ATTR=SRC:http://www.dreamstime.com/localization-images/en/btn_edit2.jpg TAG POS=1 TYPE=IMG ATTR=SRC:http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/img/btn_disable.jpg TAG POS=1 TYPE=INPUT:RADIO FORM=NAME:frm_disable ATTR=ID:rd_confirm TAG POS=1 TYPE=TEXTAREA FORM=NAME:frm_disable ATTR=NAME:M_reason CONTENT=Going<SP>exclusive<SP>to<SP>istock TAG POS=1 TYPE=INPUT:IMAGE FORM=NAME:frm_disable ATTR=SRC:http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/localization-images/en/btn_sbmit.jpg Hope this helps someone!

I started disabling newer images from Dreamstime with a view to going exclusive on IS - basically what I wanted to test was whether the 30% was in fact only newer images or would be in accordance with their signup page which omits any reference to the newer images. Unfortunately in DTs dream-land 8/2133 is greater than 30%, so hit their limit of files that I can disable.
What I did however notice though, after disabling about 4 of my newest images is a *massive* drop in downloads. By massive I mean the week following I had about 40% of the previous weeks downloads, less last week, and this week is starting even worse. For the record the last time I had such low sales in a week that wasn't Christmas was in June 2008 with about 1/3 the number of files online.
It seems clear to me that DT's policy is that if you want to leave, we're going to punish you on the way out, and create as much additional work as possible for you.
I'd be curious to know whether anyone else has had this experience (ie. a large drop in sales) after disabling images? This is obviously also relevant in terms of whether files are disabled instead of going into the free collection.

Just out of curiosity, were the novel use sales RF files, or RM as well?

Just sent an email requesting that my account be closed. Read through your agreement again - which allows for 30 days to remove content from your site, plus 60 days to remove from affiliates sites.
I can't see why it should take so long to remove content, and certainly hope that it doesn't.
Edit:... Images removed very quickly... thanks!

If you think IS is bad then try a few searches at FT. The keyword abuse there is horrific and there isn't any 'relevance' factor to promote correctly keyworded images in the results, as there is at IS and SS.
Very true - instead they prefer to promote their "infinite collection" which are usually less relevant, and quite frequently badly composed, poorly exposed and full of trademarks. Judging by this collection what you really should be doing at FT is uploading all your rejects there and selling them at premium prices.

I just wonder why they do this? Are they out of STOCK...
Seriously. Is there a shortage of content?
Well you need a fair quantity of good content to build an agency, and many independents that are successful just haven't bothered uploading because the likelihood of return on time investment doesn't seem to make the exercise worthwhile. Maybe this is more of a sign that Corbis is finally starting to take the segment seriously and that we may see some competition. Can't be a bad thing for contributors.

When you say your images were unsharpened, do you mean that you processed the raw files and set sharpening to 0, or that you didn't adjust the default settings?

I've updated my stats on http://www.microstockcharts.com/holgsI don't think its that grim a month when you consider Easter the flight disruptions and some downtime on the IS servers.

You can delete 30% of your images from this site
Delete the most recent first and work your way back
Nope.. unfortunately it doesn't work that way...

Yeah, got some real good ones. I never knew they actually grow reflectors on the bottom of the Cannes harbor though. Interesting stuff.
Yep amazing what you can find when you go fishing in the harbor!

Anyone going that needs some accommodation? I've booked an apartment here: http://www.expedia.co.uk/pub/agent.dll/qscr=dspv/nojs=1/htid=2204249(described as: One Bedroom for 4: One double and two twin beds. Balcony. Kitchen. Television. telephone. Tea and coffee facilities. ) At the moment there are 2 beds free from 21st-24th, and one free 24th to the 29th. Cost would be US$15-$30 a night each depending on how many end up staying. Its a little way out of the center (3km), but close to the beach and apparently there are buses into the center every 15mins... So... any takers??

The layout & design looks very nice.
The only thing I noticed was the "Shop" tab on the top menu bar - I'd have it go to a page on the site itself rather than to Amazon if possible.
Looks like a lot of very tasty recipies on there - the photos really make them jump off the page.

I use a macbook - don't really have the option of waiting until I get "home" seeing as that's not going to happen for a while yet.
I think its inevitable that you'll get a slightly higher rejection rate, but if you know how your workflow goes on your normal system and stick to it on the laptop - and rely more on the levels than how bright the image looks on the screen you should be able to get by.

Another option is to get a good sling style bag that fits nicely inside your backpack. That way you can get the sort of backpack that's good for cycling, and have another option for when you're walking around.

I'd wait until 11 Feb before deleting the photos - buyers still have until then to use up credits.

I don't know why. Care to elaborate? You've got mail.
I'm sure a lot of us don't know why.

The concern isn't so much about what happens if Getty goes bankrupt, the concern is what happens when the current owners sell Getty and the new owners realise that its quite feasible to increase profits further at the expense of contributors. Canisters will have been moved once without any hitch - whats to stop them from changing the % that's attached to them?
Unfortunately similar moves by the competition mean that there's nothing stopping IS now anyway.
Personally I think its time that contributors had a good discussion about developing more contributor friendly alternatives - not just another discussion thread on here, but something face to face.
