Got mine happening here: www.timhester.com.auLONG way to go yet for anything resembling a functioning site, but so far no errors or issues with the theme, other than the common one about large files not processing.

My post_max size is 64mb already, as set by my host, as is my upload_max. My PHP memory limit is 128mb.
I'm having no problems with most of my earlier, smaller files, but anything off my D800 just fails. Yet to work out the exact file size limit, but thinking its something like over 10-15mb just leaves an empty "Process Images" page with only the first image processed, but without the actual image - just its keywords and title etc.

I highly recommend Wordpress SEO by Yoast - http://yoast.com/This guy really seems to know his stuff, it's updated very frequently and has helped me hugely with improved SEO on www.microstockman.comI will definitely be using it on my new Symbiostock site.

Some good ideas have already been put out there about ways to support Leo and Symbiostock, and it's nice to hear that Leo sounds pretty confident he can monetize this theme to compensate his time and energies being put into it. But I was thinking it was worth a thread about all the ways that we can and are promoting this for him. I run www.microstockman.com which quite a number of photographers and designers visit each month to learn about selling their images, so I will be putting out a post regarding Symbiostock soon, as well as adding a few links in different places, such as my Agency listing page. It's probably not much, but it's a start. Leo - do you have a press release type thing that you would want me to include in my post? What about everyone else, any ideas of how to spread the word as well as build links for Symbiostock/Leo?

Brilliant thanks. I am on your list already, but think I've only got 2 emails thus far (not sure if you've sent more, seems like there has been more releases than 2?) I can understand your reluctance to spam people, but from my point of view the more communication on this project the better. Also, have you considered running something like Mantis ( http://www.mantisbt.org) or similar on your server to keep track of bugs/progress on issues? I wonder whether it would help keep track of things better than a forum? Anyway, thanks for the quick reply and I'll wait till tomorrow to leap into Symbiostock. Thanks again Leo!

Hey Leo, sorry to distract you, I'm about to jump in on testing this tomorrow (australia time), just wondering - are you putting out a new version in the next 12-18 hours? If so, I will wait for that version to begin my setup and testing.
Not sure if others would agree, but I think it would be helpful to receive an email with each new release at this point, as I'm finding it hard to keep track of these forum threads and releases (but thanks for implementing version numbers, that will help HEAPS!)

A quick note - in case you intend to change theme files -
http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes
I hope to release a very basic child theme template tonight so you can modify your site without losing changes.
BRILLIANT! That is exactly what I was hoping for (but just don't know how to do!). Keep going Leo, this thing is shaping up really well!!

HUGE swings of good and bad weeks. Had a very poor start to the month, but the last week has made up for it, and am now a bit over average for the month.

Anyone notice this over on the Envato Forums...? "for example when we launched PhotoDune we contacted a number of very high profile stock photographers and negotiated individual rates for each to ensure that we entered that marketplace with a competitive starting library."http://photodune.net/forums/thread/100-gpl-questions-answered/93118?page=1Not surprised by any means, nor annoyed by it, but I just wonder who made the cut? (other than Yuri, Pressmaster, andresr and MonkeyBusiness - which I assume are just givens)

Thats funny. I think I'm done for the day, so I'll just set up the latest zip so you can update your site with a cleaner working version. By the way, for that cute little bug you will have to delete those, and then they will not come back.
Huh, so he actually does sleep after all.

3-4 weeks it seems. I had to write to support, and got the 2-3 weeks answer, which it was already over. Then they got reviewed within about a week of my email.

Great going Mike! Whenever anyone asks about buying images I think we really need to think carefully about where we send them. We can make a big difference by doing this small thing.

I kept getting a "Disk Full" error when uploading last night. Tried it twice. Haven't bothered trying again today, but obviously something's up.

"Actually: I am not too sure what I should look for. I can't imagine that networking with someone who has focus on e.g. business people would help either of us. Same goes for, say, most vectors. But I have never been in an image buyer's shoes. " - Pilens
I know what you mean Pilens, I am not entirely sure what the right pick would be, but my thinking on it at the moment is getting people who are slightly complimentary (say, 25% similar types as me) , but mostly different content so as to attract a wider range of buyers to our network.
From there perhaps someone who wants to buy a woman with a headset over white may also decide to buy a background image while on the same site?
I don't know, those with more experience as buyers may shed some more light on this.

MSGName: Microstock Man website: THP Stock Photos url: www.thpstockphotos.com ---> website will be overhauled as soon as the theme is ready to use my photo topics: travel, nature, landscape, backgrounds, objects, wildlife, concepts, homelife, what I'm looking for: business, business people, portraits, lifestyle and maybe travel/nature for a crossover complimentary section (all must be G rated as well, no nudity or suggestive/lingerie stuff) portfolio size: 2000+ photos, handful of vectors & videos I think we need to include portfolio size, as its great to network with someone who has the type of images you are after, but if they are only going to have 15 images online, then it's probably not much help. I think we need to include how many images we plan to offer directly from our site to give everyone a fair idea of what we can offer. Great topic btw, can't wait to get this happening. Does feel a little like Perfect Match from the 80's though...

A quick google search will probably find a bunch of sites like mine and steves that have a list of agencies, but mostly they will be similar to Leaf's poll on the right. For what its worth... http://www.microstockman.com/microstock-photography-sites/All the best with it Stas77

Wow, I just went to check and I got their new front page (remember the one that was talked about and demo'd about 3-4 months back??!)
It's nice, but too narrow in my opinion. Heaps of room at the right on most monitors I'd reckon.
And yep, 1 more PP sale found its way into the 1st of the month. At this rate it'll be paid by 2015.

"your getting hourly prompts to update your theme" - ha, oh this will be a fun next few months...! Thanks for the info Leo, I think this part of the solution will be crucial for most people who are serious about selling direct. In then end 100 files online wont get us anywhere, but our whole portfolio's of thousands just might. Also, (slightly off topic), how do you recommend setting up your theme (upon release) to make upgrades easier? Child theme? If so, can you please provide details for us of how to set up a child theme so we can keep up to date with your latest releases without overwriting any customisations. thanks mate, can't believe we nearly have this thing in our hands!

I already run 2 sites and have a good host for that.
However, direct selling all my images (2000+) will require a lot more space than I currently have.
So my question...
What do you all recommend as the solution? I don't really want to upgrade my hosting package as the extra storage costs quite a bit. So would the better solution be to get something like Amazon S3 and host images separately to the site itself?
If so, what are the best options for this in terms of cost/space/speed?
And Leo, any suggestions for what will integrate best with Symbiostock?

Hi guys We are still working on this. Will let you know as soon as I have something solid to share.
Thanks! - Josh
Can I revive this old thread Josh... It is now near the end of March and still no word on vector price rises at Envato. This REALLY needs to be addressed. Please please please let us know how and when things will improve on this issue if you can.

And added to that, remember its Euro which for many of us puts the actual end amount about on par with some of the cheaper sub sites.

Wow that sounds incredibly frustrating! Thanks for being thorough with it, would rather wait a week and have it work than not.
Keep up the awesome work Kona.
