Adobe Stock / Re: Good bye Adobe Stock from Venezuela.
« on: October 14, 2019, 01:27 »
Because he has large sums of money and it's an isolated case involving one person... so it's a completely unfair comparison. The US, or even Texas, could have the best surgeon in the world, or the best hospital in the world, but we're going on averages for the majority of the population.

Surely you're not going to question how Alabama can come last in education if some individual got a record score on an exam?

The US is ranked 37th for healthcare by the World Health Organisation. The UK is ranked 18th. You'd think the UK would be worse if it's free... but obviously not.

Now it claims to pay us within 9 working days of the month. Today is the 9th, and the payment has not arrived in Paypal yet.

Surely you've not got to this stage in your life without knowing what 'working days' are?!

What dose this state tax do for you.

I'm assuming it covers all the socialist initiatives... and the rest goes to Texas to cover theirs.

Read the headline and had visions of them on a yacht throwing flaming knives at each other while dancing with bears and chugging bottles of tequila in some kind of drunken orgy the likes the world has never seen.

Not gonna lie... slightly disappointed with the main body of the post after that.

The $150, $200 or $300 would have to be extended licenses. The higher amounts are more likely to be 4K, but a 4K clip alone wouldn't bring in an amount that high.

No refunds, but worst amount this year, less than half of July (but with the same number of downloads).

It is not possible to make more than 10% of a living from stock media

$25K a month is 10% of a living?! You must have some fancy tastes!

Nobody believes when people boast of huge earnings. It's obvious they're just trying to boost their ego and probably only earn a few dollars every now and then

I have no reason not to believe them. And if you're going to lie (and you're only making a few dollars here and there) maybe best to suggest you make $200 a month or $2.5K a month!

But still... what's 'a living'? Somewhere between $1K and $5K a month depending on where you live? So are you saying that it's not possible to make more than $100 to $500 a month making stock? I think this opinion might be heavily influenced by your own results rather than the market as a whole!

Adobe Stock / Re: How much is 1 AdobeStock credit?
« on: September 19, 2019, 04:56 »
Obvoiusly 1 credit will not be equal 1 Euro, if the contributors royalty depends on his rank.

The value of the credits is the same or everyone (differing countries and currencies aside) the higher the rank only relates to how many credits you get.

Exactly the same amount of downloads as last month... so I'm looking forward to a wildly differing amount of money than last month. That's usually the way!

Its $39 a month currently, and this is nothing new... they've been offering the subscription service for well over ten years.

Envato / Re: Changes coming to Elements bonus payments
« on: September 06, 2019, 03:04 »
If you run the numbers... you'll see that the average contributor makes exactly $650 a month in item earnings!

...assuming the pool was the same, but roughly yes! :) That is actually quite encouraging.

My bonus went down a bit, but not bad.

Making assumptions about other people's earnings based on one's own usually isn't too useful...

Yeah, mine went down a bit too, but was expected. I'm hoping a bunch of people don't meet the bonus eligibility criteria when they start that in November... more money for the rest of us!

That relies on the world being populated by sane artists! And even if they ditched the ability for artists to submit content to the membership library... and every artist removed their clips... they've still got millions of other clips to offer subscribers. I can't see them going anywhere any time soon!

I would actually be surprised if they are still around in another year or two.

What makes you think that? They started in 2006 and have been growing steadily ever since... and the subscription side of the business has always being their core offering. If they were going strong before the marketplace came along, I can't see any reason they'd have trouble still being around a year or two after the marketplace disappears... especially with the influx of new content.

Did you not read the announcement? They've altered the bonus calculation so it aligns with your earnings... so if you make a lot of money you get a big bonus, if you don't you get a small bonus. This month it worked out to around 41% of your item earnings... so if you made less than around $650 in item earnings, then your bonus went down... if you made more than around $650 in item earnings then your bonus went up.

So before your item earnings were about $20 to $30, and you were getting a $200 to $300 bonus on top of that? I mean, there does seem to be a slight imbalance there, wouldn't you say?

If your item earnings were $2500 and you were getting a $200 to $300 bonus on top of that before... and due to the change you were now getting an $1000 bonus (which is what it would now be)... would you still be complaining?

Surely SEO includes the iStock 'search engine'? I'd be highly surprised if titles and descriptions didn't factor into search results.

my clip priced higher at P5 for buyer that want to appreciate and give more to the artist that create it even though they know they can get cheaper elsewhere.

LOL!

Yeah, they said they 'may' invite you to join the member library in the future, so they're keeping some of your footage in your account (rather than deleting them when the marketplace closes) so that if they do invite you (and you decide to join) you don't have to upload them again. Nowhere did they say that your content is going to automatically enter the subscription service when the marketplace is deleted. At present, both of those need to happen for your content to join the member library... and neither of them has happened. Might be worth reading it again yourself!

which is going to automatically enter the subscription section once they remove the marketplace

Was that in a different message, as I'm not seeing it in the one you've posted?

Not wrong but... I have around 1700 videos. If I sold each of them once a year at $21,54 that's $35700 in my pocket
That's what I was meaning.

And have you sold each of them once year at $21.54? Not enough data to say whether it's actually good or bad, but while your revelation that you have 1700 similar files was intended to be a positive (as it multiplies sales potential), it's also extremely negative at the same time! One sale a year for your one file is one thing... one sale a year for your 1700 files is another entirely!

Sure, you may have had a bunch sales on your other files for all we know, but I'm guessing you would have mentioned that if it was the case rather than ifs and maybes about what one sale on one clip might mean for a portfolio of 1700.

Don't get me wrong, I think your video is perfectly fine, the design is nice and I can see them selling... but I'm just questioning your confidence in your approach based on one sale, in one year.

Audiojungle looks like a joke with it's pricing, and being part of the Envato family isn't exactly a positive.

You can set your own prices.
