General Stock Discussion / Who else, besides Getty, is going to survive this recession?« on: January 26, 2010, 16:16 »
Maybe it's just winter depression but I got a feeling that soon we will hear some not so exciting news.

General Stock Discussion / Re: CanStockPhoto - Sales Going Up?« on: January 26, 2010, 16:14 »
I was actually thinking about pause uploads there. Nothing happened for couple months. Members of this forum are statistically insignificant group that's why few votes can change direction of the arrow.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Significance of Microstock Poll Results« on: January 26, 2010, 16:03 »
For me it's only sign that economy has not recovered yet if everybody across the board post bad results. Maybe weaker participants in this race to the bottom will start dropping out soon. I think it will get worse before it gets better.

DepositPhotos / DepositPhotos - anybody got paid?« on: January 22, 2010, 13:53 »
I finally was able to have enough images accepted in their promotion to request minimum payment. What can I say. Submitting interface is one of the worse if you deal with large amount of images.

Which agencies beside Getty use TinEye? It could never find any of my images besides IS.

General Stock Discussion / I am just a statistical error« on: January 20, 2010, 17:12 »
When I looked at DT db exposure graph it has been steady at 0.03% for over a year. It means that I am not increasing my portfolio fast enough?

Featurepics.com / Re: Anyone selling at Featurepics?« on: January 20, 2010, 16:55 »I don't usually post earnings, but these numbers are so far off even my 2nd worst site, I don't care. Here are my monthy earnings since my last payout a year ago. I quit uploading months ago, but never felt it was worth the effort to delete accounts. You are my hero. I wish I earn so much on FP :-P 611
General Stock Discussion / Re: Possible general drop in the Micro income to all?« on: January 18, 2010, 19:25 »
If the same product is offered on different sites it is only mater of time when price comparison engine will appear. It not necessarily have to be bad thing. If only price is factor would BHPhoto or Adorama survive all these "cheapest" photo sites popping every day?

Previously it was showing exact number why user should make calculations instead?

General Stock Discussion / Re: Does MicroStock lower design standards?« on: January 18, 2010, 17:18 »
10 years ago nobody would touch cheap Chinese junk. Now there is only cheap Chinese junk :-) Microstock will eliminate all other competitors and then standards will not matter if there is no choice.

50 is a bug they actually mean 5 :-) I guess nobody reported calculation error cause I have seen it for at least month.

General Stock Discussion / It's rejection season« on: January 15, 2010, 13:24 »
This month many people have been complaining about abnormal rejection rates. When I was looking at DT chart it stroke me that it was the same last January then slowly it went down. It must be some rational explanation for this, maybe reviewers take vacations in January after busy holiday season.

General Stock Discussion / MPEG-7« on: January 14, 2010, 19:53 »
It looks like finally multimedia got it's own description standard: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MPEG-7
I wonder when agencies start accepting it for video? 617
iStockPhoto.com / Re: pathetic "controlled vocabulary"« on: January 14, 2010, 18:13 »
Maybe instead of beating this horse to death again we need petition to developers of DeepMeta to automate process of selecting keywords/categories? E.g I would gladly accept option to discard anything that is not properly detected.

General Stock Discussion / Re: death to categories« on: January 14, 2010, 18:07 »
1. Waste of time for contributors but good way to organize files for agencies.
2.There are customers who like to browse so somebody has to do it: - contributors - free for agency - paid employee who is reviewing images initially - it will slow process even more - program which can analyze keywords and description and put image into category automatically - programmers needs to be hired to write it. Guess which option is chosen :-) 619

General Stock Discussion / Re: Lot of Red on the Right« on: January 08, 2010, 18:56 »
It's more indicator of how people feel about sites. It seems like all are doing worse than before. If this trend will settle you can start seeing green if a drop is lower than before. I think earnings should be expressed in absolute numbers (ranges of numbers).

123RF / Re: Anyone else having increased sales at 123rf ?« on: January 08, 2010, 15:34 »
Nope, same as usual. Only new thing I am observing are 100% rejections recently. Maybe they are running out of space?
