I haven't had a good SOD in over a year I think they are all pretty much from sub up to OD in amount, mostly in the double sub range.
Tuesday was like a decent day from a few years ago though both in number and OD number. Nice, but I'll believe it is more than a one off when it repeats a few more times in less than a few months.
The monthly total seems about on par for what it has been lately.

That should be helpful. What I would really like to see at Adobe is some decent stats. For instance - sales per time period - how many sales per month for how much. How many times did a particular image sell.

I guess it really depends on how much this pushes buyers into subs and what the RC they give us for the sale - of course it should at a minimum be what the RC was for the 2, 4, and 6 credit sales.
It looks like now the credit prices are S - 1, M-2, ML -3 up to XXL at 6 and then XXL tiff at 10. No notice of what happens to that.
I suppose we just need to brace ourselves for more "exciting news", although if they get much more exciting they won't be worth even checking for sales anymore.

Or it might take a month or maybe 2 months for the review, it is not at all clear what is happening under the hood there.

No. As far as I know I don't have a Fotolia account - except when I applied once when they were offering to match downloads they said that option was only open to people that didn't already have a FT acct. I find the stats available to Adobe contributors to be pretty lacking.

DT does seem to order things somewhat by artist, so maybe there is some way to move your ranking up by having a higher sale percentage (deleting no sale images). Or maybe nothing will change. If you are going to delete stuff you should check your image search position on a computer without cookies or login and then see if they change. It might take a while for changes to take effect too.
It sure would be nice to know how the search rankings work, but of course the sites keep their secret sauce secret to try to keep people from gaming them.

I threw most of my photos up there - they are in my "upload when I have a heap of images ready and some time free" category. It is pretty easy to submit once you figure it out (maybe less so if you have a lot of model released images?) in 2016 I made less than 10% of my SS total, in 2017 I made more than 10% of my SS total (SS went down, they went up). The 2018 total was mostly due to a few big sales one month. Without that month it would have been under 10% of SS. For all time they are 1.31% of my stock totals (although I haven't been with them as long as all the sites).
I like that you can set prices and we get 50%. The few times I have messed with their search I was not impressed. They are on the order of CanStockPhoto and BS for me in terms of $ but with less sales and better rpd and better than FP, SF, and GL - an admittedly low bar.
I have one video clip there that never sold, so my videos are probably not helping me in the search.

I suppose with a lot of research into what buyers search for and effort you could put stuff that has sold and is competing with a lot of other images into one pseudo with a high rank and images with obscure stuff that would only be found with a search with little competition into another and then abandon the rest to a low ctr pseudo.
I suppose another strategy would be to put the sellers into a winning pseudo, but then it would punish all your other work.
Or you could upload good in demand images with good keywording and let it ride.

Sounds like it might just be a temporary thing. Surprisingly, January was my best month ever on Getty. Actually more than double my best month ever. I can't hate on that.
Except if buyers had spent that money on your work anywhere else you would have made more.

I've earned more there than anywhere else.
I also remember when they had nearly yearly raises. They also haven't screwed us over as blatantly as places like IS or Fotolia did (with the exception of the referral program, which never benefitted me anyway). A lot of that is because they started out taking a pretty high percentage from the outset, so they didn't need to increase their take. Of course IS started out taking 80% but that wasn't "sustainable" for them so they went to 85%. Fotolia had a nasty habit of moving the goalposts, hopefully Adobe has cured them of that.
I like 2018 SS a whole lot less than SS up to 2012. My all time RPD there is .64

I didn't answer because I have almost no videos and thus almost no video sales.

I noticed that no keywords are listed for any of the sales from images uploaded in 2018 (which is sadly not a lot of sales). Maybe they have lost the ability to keep track of the keywords used for sales with the huge volume of new images. That would also explain some of the erosion of the quality of the searches people say is happening (any search that doesn't have my images at the top is horrible).
(edited to clarify what I was saying)

The talk of the "wall" had a lot more mathematical plausibility to me rather than a cap - and does cap mean that your sales are lifted up if they fall below this cap? It seems if the cap was real you need to just open up another account - and why not stop submitting if your earnings don't change?
I am not denying search changes squashing sales overnight. There are all kind of search shenanigans going on - based on image age, size, location, and who knows what else. (I certainly wouldn't put it past them to push .25 images up in the search, or images from newer contributors, which is pretty similar).
But if every good day is followed by down days, how do you get good weeks? or good 2 weeks to be followed by bad 2 weeks? I suppose they could program a random time period to turn sales on and off to level things out, but then why not do it on a larger time frame so that nobody would think there was a cap anyway?

I always figured it was their sandbox to play with schemes to pay us less. Hopefully those schemes don't work too well. If I had known they would have grandfathered the higher pay for the bridge (instead of just one year like they said originally) I'd have gone for it. Instead I stopped uploading. It probably hasn't cost me all that much $ over the years.

Just ask to do it in writing and then add free cruises for life into the fine print and send it back.... If they don't read it - sweet.

Has anyone had Alamy call them because there was something wrong with a photo they submitted (like in the article linked)?

I had one with an old release accepted and another with a new release recently (it was basically just the text of the SS release with all mention of SS removed). Both were photos of me which you would think they would be a little more lenient on the release, but no. They have rejected a bunch of images with old previously accepted releases in the last 3 or 4 months but also accepted some - it seems almost random. I think the dates were in US form but numbers eg month/date/year eg 1/2/18 would be Jan 2nd 2018

You might lose some sales from images that are on Alamy and the micros - that is they might sell for cents instead of $$. Of course if you just leave them on only the micros, they will never sell on Alamy instead of maybe sell a little less than if they were only on Alamy. Is it worth the trouble to upload your micro images there - I don't know, that is something you must decide based on how well you think your images might do and how long it might take to upload them there. Sales on Alamy for me seem to be a pretty random event and I have no ability to predict what might or might not sell - so I would have no way to decide which images should go to Alamy instead of the micros if I thought that having them in the micros would sabotage sales at Alamy.
Also the Alamy license might be closer to an EL at some places, so take that into consideration when comparing sales.

go to my account - online files, go to the image you want to change (you can search by keyword or image number) and then click on the title of the image you want to edit. Make your changes and hit "submit".

while you are reading and answering questions, is there any way to get useful statistics on sales - like how many sales for how much in a given month on Adobe - or else a way to open up access to the Fotolia interface for all? I am pleased to report I have enough sales that I really don't want to have to add them up by hand (of course that is anything more than 1 sale for me).

I guess the really big unknown is how will google change their image search to benefit getty or push down non-getty.
Also I wonder if getty got some big $ as part of this, and the actual image usages will be for less (and that is what will get split in the usual getty unequal way).

I have one sub on the 28th or the 27th, who can tell with how they report it. About par for the course this month - absolutely pathetic number of sales.

I had that problem with some mani stones. I provided a translation, but they still didn't take it - it was a vague rejection, so who knows what they were really rejecting (like most of their rejections - too filtered or not filtered enough sort of rejection). I think a lot of them are just automated or perhaps the reviewer gets a potential automated rejection for non-english keywords and a lazy reviewer just accepts it.

What you get for an EL varies widely. I think the lowest I have received per credit is on the order of 11 cents, but that is the extreme end of huge credit purchases on a level 0 image. I rarely get much more than 50 cents per credit, so that means your 50 credit EL sale would be somewhere between $5.50 and $25 with the possibility of a bit more. Realistically probably more in the $10 to $20 range. If all these requests are real, then they will most likely be from someone who is buying a massive credit pack which tends to push things to the lower end of the range. I very much doubt that all these EL requests are real though.

I'm surprised Getty hasn't done this with Istock - Getty takes 80 % and then Istock takes 85% of what is left and from a $100 sale they pocket $93 and the artist get $3.
I wonder if any sites have a 3 distributor chain yet - all taking their cut.
