The deactivation spread sheet is very nice... except it shows me pledging only 10. I've deactivated 26 at istock (plus 327 at stockexpert) so far. Will do more on Feb 2nd.
Providing an opt out would be a smart business decision. I hope Getty eventually realizes this.

Party on Warren. If your going to Ft. Jefferson take the seaplane. It's a nice view and you'll get there two hours before the tourist boat arrives.

Have they even said how long the google-drive license is supposed to be good for? Is it a one or two year term or is it a "forever thing".

Two of my istock posts asking for an opt out before Feb 2 are "missing". I think they're getting a little sensitive about the Feb 2nd thing.

We don't know the extent of the getty-google deal. In a year it might be 100,000 images... or maybe 1,000,000-
We need an opt out now.

how you removed your pictures from Stockxpert?
I think you have to login and write support. I deleted some files manually last year (as a test).... they're still online at thinkstock.

I just sent a request to close my stockxpert account... and remove it's 327 images from thinkstock, photos.com, etc.,. Will resume deactivating my istock portfolio on Feb 2nd... if I can wait that long.

I'm on board for Feb 2nd but just deactivated 10 for practice. I know your busy Leaf... but can we get a nice counter button going? I want to be counted!
Thanks

I've gone from over 3000 to just 545 images on iStock, plus the stuff I'm slowly removing from StockXpert.
Images I selectively "deleted" from StockXpert over a year ago... as a test... are still being sold there. You may want to search Thinkstock for your "deleted" shots. I think the only way to edit a StockXpert port is to close the account entirely.

Getty allowing Google to redistribute contributor images for free is profoundly wrong. Well crafted legal worm holes do not change the fact that this action is a deceitful betrayal of their contributors. Forcing contributors into this without pre-notification and an opt out is completely unacceptable. My images are not currently included. If they were I would deactivate them and request immediate removal from all Getty and Google distribution platforms. I hope all effected contributors do this. Maybe they'll get the message or at least provide an opt out.
If this is indicative of Getty's new ownership management style we might be wise to deactivate our istock/getty accounts entirely. It's something I'm considering. I hope they come to their senses.

KCSN listener supported public college rock station streaming on the web at kcsn.org Five decades of rock - half old, half new. No commercials, just a few promos.

I learned that this site occasionally gives us a collective voice that sometimes is heard (Veer - Alamy Creative issue). I also learned that it's possible to save a clipping path within a jpeg. What did you learn?

My macbook worked great with 4 gigs of ram and cs4. I found it to be sluggish with cs6 and large files. I upgraded to 16 gigs (apple only sells 8 gigs but after market companies sell 16 gig chips). Cost about $80- Snapped them in, works great now.

The site is working for me. Found my images there with my Veer only name.... Guess they have a partnership deal.

I also have shunned facebook, instagram and others. This reinforces my decision.

They should honor their previous commitment to grandfather established contributors at the 50% rate. Over the last four years I've steadily sent the best I have. About 1700 images so far. (I'm a part timer...still need the day job to pay the bills.) My effort, like other contributors, has helped them grow and survive. Instead of recognition we are being shoved into the dirt. Royalty cuts suck.

When istock cut royalties I added Alamy and Veer to offset the loss of income. When Fotolia cut royalties I added Envato and Deposit. I'm feeling a sudden inspiration to migrate my port some more.

If you love to travel and love to shoot, bring your tools. Income from your travels is icing on the cake... and money for the next trip.

This lawsuit is frivolous. Attractive models in nice light were seen wearing glasses. They will not be able to prove loss of sales or actual monetary damages... because there are none.

Very broad terms... creates a reason to set prices on the high side.

I'm not a facebook user and never will be a facebook user. Seems this contest is not for me.
