Veer / Re: Upload limits at Veer
« on: May 17, 2010, 13:24 »
New slots quite often appear before current images are reviewed for me.

It's not important when images are reviewed. It's important when you upload them. So, if review time is longer than one week, you will get new slots before your last batch is reviewed.

Veer / Re: Upload limits at Veer

Your week begins the moment you start uploading. Veer counts 7 days for every uploaded file separately. So, free slots for you will start to appear 7 days after your first upload and their number will increase. So, if you upload 50 files in Monday, and another 50 in Tuesday, you will have 50 free slots next Monday, and 50 more next Tuesday.
Hope this helps. :)

Maybe it's not very polite to post things like this, but since it has 4 000 000 views I just have to share it with you. It made my day.  ;D

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Fresh exclusive feedback
« on: May 17, 2010, 08:02 »
There was always some thread about exclusivity and best match position in search, and although most people say exclusives have better postilion in search I think it was never proved to be truth. I have read several threads where exclusives say they earn more just because they get more per image because they are exclusives, not because they get more downloads.

I noticed the same thing, but I thought it was just a coincidence.

Yes, must be that

Actually, it's the same thing with every image I try. Must be some glitch

iStockPhoto.com / Strange TinEye result
« on: May 17, 2010, 05:59 »
TinEye found one of my images on Getty, and I don't have an account there. This is the result that TinEye returned:
http://www.tineye.com/search/fffd888a447bd88b9d8c513ea23c5824e936d117

And when I opened Getty page, it says: "We're sorry. Item 96981413 is no longer available"

This is the Getty page that contained my image: http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/96981413

So, now I wonder what this means? Does it mean that someone was selling my image on Getty, or what?

Adobe Stock / Is location important?
« on: May 16, 2010, 10:42 »
I was blind enough no to see that image submission process at FT asks for "location" of the taken photo. So, I was always leaving "Serbia" instead of changing it accordingly with the location where the photo was taken.
Is it important to buyers or they don't pay much attention to it?
BTW, it would be nice if we could edit some data after submission.

Veer / Re: Veer FTP Problem
« on: May 16, 2010, 07:36 »
Just tried my first FTP with Veer and, like everyone esle, it will not compete the transfer.  The problem is, when I tried going back to using their browser upload, the system continually tries to process the FTP files and locks up so I can't access any of my uploaded files in order to submit them.  So now I am unable to upload anything to them.  Waiting for a reply from an email to them, but very disappointing, especially during the Dash for Cash period.

Try to connect to their ftp server again, this time without uploading anything, and delete your half-uploaded files if you see them.

Take a look at IS top 8 images called "Istockphoto Hot Shots"  http://links.mkt2173.com/servlet/MailView?ms=Mjk2MTIxNgS2&r=NTMwMTQ2NzgzNAS2&j=MTc4MDMwNjczS0&mt=1&rt=0

Honestly, I never had courage to process image to this level because I always thought IS will reject them. Maybe I should try my self out. Really nice images...some of them especially.

I agree about copyright. Maybe we should all email Elena. My experience is that she listen to contributors..

641
strange. The site is super fast here. I downloaded all my images from Mostphotos backup, and all image titles are in their place. So, for every batch of 50 images I need about 3 minutes to submit them to Polylooks and Picturemaxx, and to select if they need model release or not.

642
I just got paid at Zoonar, few minutes after clicking "payment" button.

643
Sharply-done is right about reality check, and I agree with Microbius. Even if you think it's not a very good starting point financially, then just look at other circumstances and you'll see it's worth trying.

644
The site is awfully slow. Actually, I couldn't make a search at all, but it says:

Hi Ralf, I had the same rejection few times at IS. Maybe it's just your first time.

Don't worry. The apocalypse will be 2012 anyway ;)

Depends on where you live. Here, with $200 a day, you would be awfully rich.

The same here, just images upload halfway, not exactly to the last byte....but it's annoying anyway.

123RF / Re: Rejects at 123rf to clear the pending queue?
« on: May 11, 2010, 08:11 »
Hi Anglee,
This problem lasts for months already. We have thousands of rejected images for the same reason poor lighting/composition. It's not just Tom, it's bunch of unsatisfied people.
I submitted few batches for re-review, but the result was almost the same. So I gave up, and I don't resubmit anymore.

Just to add something.... I think everyone here knows I was always supporting 123rf. I always say 123RF is much better than Fotolia for me, which is true. Actually, I think I never, ever said one bad thing about 123RF. But lately I got pretty disappointed because of this issue. You can always say that 123RF now has higher standards than before, but the fact is: good images are being rejected. I don't know what's happening at 123RF, but obviously we here think some things should change...or maybe 123RF really wants to follow steps of Crestock.
If you implemented something...it's bad...really bad.
Nothing personal. I had to say this because I want things to be better, not because I want to rant.
Regards,
Ivan
