People did not like when all production was shifted to China but at the same time everybody expected goods to be cheap :-) All agencies got mostly same contributors and images how could they compete with each other?

Do not feel sorry I just got 100% rejected. Mostly old stuff already selling on other sites so it could not be that bad :-) As in old saying it's theirs circus and theirs animals, they can do whatever they want :-)

The BEST computer???
The one which does what you want it to do, when you want to do, at the speed you are comfortable with, and does not cause undue heartache.
I agree, in 99% of cases user is a problem not a computer :-)

I think we should be prepared to see more rejections across the board. Simple there is too many photographers trying to upload every possible subjects in mass amounts. Do you think agencies really need more photos? Most of them still have images smaller than 4mpix. Apparently customers do not need anything better. Also how likely is that customer would pick something from below couple top search pages? In result best sellers sell even more and newcomers are not even noticed. The only situation that you might have good selling image now is when you discovered something which is in high demand among customers but it is not represented in database which is very unlikely. Otherwise you can only count on agency messing up their search engine :-)

Nada, zero, nothing. Even my weakest performing agencies got few images sold.

What do they mean by that? I googled and I could not figure out what's definition of this term.

I was pleased that most paid software I use got Mac version on installation disks. Lightroom2 migration for example was mostly copying files then syncing with directories on my external disk. I am documenting this process in a blog: http://migratepc2mac.blogspot.com/

At first I thought I am joining a cult :-) Now I know it hangs and crashes like Windows or Linux. Overall I am still positive. I am messing it up, installing hundreds of apps which I probably do not need. I was able to get some of my favorite Linux and Windows apps on Mac.

It's conflict of interests: contributors want to have as much as possible images in their offer while agency want them to do the work and filter so they do not have to modify their search engine. On the top of that reviewers do not care about selling potential of photos cause they got paid on count of images reviewed (I guess does not matter if accepted or rejected). Figure out who is in a weakest position here?

Do they still got this special title requirement?

Two things: 1. Economic situation which lead to layoffs so there are no reviewers to handle volume 2. Mentioned above volume, they do not need more photos

but it would be more useful if you could also add a pie chart to indicate which of the Big 6 sites that the top sellers intend to stop submitting or quit. this way, i will know exactly where to increase my contribution for 2010
Answer is very simple. The only one from top 6 I am not submitting is StockXpert. Strangely I got results comparable to 123RF and DT without any effort :-) That's probably means that I am doing something wrong if it does not matter whether I am submitting or not :-)

I actually file my W-9 on 1/2/2010, how long it would take to active it?

Most of the numbers should be averages cause one site allows you to upload 10000 images per year while other maybe 100 :-)

I dont believe a word of this BS diagram, how come then that I and many collegues are earning far, far more at other places?
mind, if its only by DLs, well then I would say SS is in the lead since its a subscription agency only.
I do not count DL, too hard to do. Why it's so unbelievable that one person got different results than others? Yes I am small piece of dust in microstock universe but I believe it I am neither in top 10% not bottom 10%. I tend to believe that it's mostly type of photographs I got in my portfolios which is responsible for this spread of results. I am not doing studio shots, I do not own Photoshop. There is lot's of things that can improve my results but since it's just a hobby I do it very slowly.

It's going to be my second full year and I am currently uploading to 7. Observing trends from 2009 one I am coming to conclusion that some efforts are not worth return and I will probably stop doing anything with CanStockPhoto or Veer. First one already got enough images and shows no progress. The second one does not cost much time but also does not show any signs of life. http://melastmohican.net/wordpress/2010/01/02/my-2009-microstock-results/

Santa Claus and Father Frost are not the same. In communist regimes lather one was popularized by communist parties to eliminate Christian tradition of Christmas. Originally Father Frost comes from pagan god of Winter who was kidnapping kids and asking parents for presents in exchange. Later it was "converted" and started giving presents like Saint Nicholas :-)

Minimum payout is $50 so I have to reach at least 250 images to get paid? Or maybe it's just excluded from general rules and you have to have 500 online?

I got less than 50 accepted and they keep adding money while I am increasing number of files. Interface is kind of cumbersome so it will take a few days to reach large number of submissions. I wish they got some sort of batch submission tool ;-)
