Hello,

Thanks for the answers, I called them, but the number is only for customers, they said to send an email to submit@shutterstock, which I did more than 48 hours ago and no answer. It just seems I will loose one whole month of payment, I am very disappointed by the way they treat us contributors.
try contacting via twitter and tell them you emailed the support team 2 days back.

Did some deep search and found these culprits.. there must be more, but its good to see SS is doing efforts to stop such happenings.

I just checked the new images and surprise to see that the approved images are not even in my portfolio after 2 days.  :o

Skrill will be my last choice always, pathetic service with too many charges.
Payoneer is good for those countries who do not have paypal in operation.

I think currently I will stick with paypal

631
I get 1 sale in a month.

632
I compared Payoneer and Paypal fees (maily exchange rate) and they are similar. Payoneer might be slightly better (not much really), but is seems to be more hassle to deal with.

Shutterstock would do a huge step if they could send money via wire transfer. We don't need any more middlemen!
I believe there is some fixed amount of bank charges taken in every transaction irrespective of the amount you are receiving.
Paypal offers mass payment option for companies which is very good. For me Paypal is working good, dunno if I should try payoneer or not.

633
Is payoneer any good? How is it compared to paypal?

Even I am thinking the same, I have never signed up with payoneer but it seems to be very popular option.
Is it worth opting? Anyone using payoneer here?

634
It was already discussed few weeks back:

Not sure when SS will fix it.

I keep my account open there for only one reason: they offer a full back-up of my images.

Sounds good? Maybe they are selling your images offline without your knowledge. No one will give full backup at no extra cost.
There is a server cost associated and nothing in this world comes for free.

1) Any microstock site can sell our images without our knowledge Agree but, a good and established agencies will never do so. There is difference in some sale, rare sale and no sale. Mostphotos is giving you likes with no sale, so question is where is money coming from?.
2) If you upload your images to Mostphotos guess where they go: on their servers, like any other sites..... The server bandwidth, data storage, ram, hosting is never for free, there is lot of resources needed to keep everything standing. And when there is lot of images the cost increases.
3) But unlike other microstock sites they offer you the possibility to download back your full res images... I really like this feature but just for this feature risking all your portfolio is not good, I have closed my account with them. You have many other secured options for this.
4) As the images are already hosted on their servers I dont see where is the added cost here... Same at point #2

Did the download problem arrived again?
I was getting downloads which suddenly stopped 4-5 hrs back.

638
The issue isn't resolved still. They say tht both customer and contributor side are affected.
I hope its not any malware attack, fingers crossed.

My august started well, until yesterday. I got very less downloads yesterday.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Unsplash, nobody noticed it?
« on: August 04, 2017, 23:29 »
i read an article at dpreview
about unsplash.com site.
in practice free foto at max resolution.
i watched the quality and seems a lot like stocksy but free...i think in most cases better quality than micro. for free.
already 1200000 download.
that's scaring.

Companies usually avoid free stuffs, reason due to licencing issues. You never know when unsplash will change their terms and land you in trouble.

Thank you for those replies. Good to know that new content is selling.
I think I need to focus more on the demanding content. :)

People are not very good at recognising randomness.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poisson_clumping

"Poisson clumping is used to explain marked increases or decreases in the frequency of an event, such as shark attacks, 'coincidences', birthdays, or heads or tails from coin tosses, and e-mail correspondence."

Interesting.

Generating jpg from eps usually give poor preview result. and what about the the meta-tags how will they be fetched?
Do we only need to upload EPS to the system or EPS + JPG?

Adobe Stock / What's up with Adobe / Fotolia?

I see no increase in sale even uploading lot of images. The sales are avg +-10% every month.
Is this normal?

Another change? Just gone from bad to absolutely terrible. Last 3 days.
:(

It started pretty bad with july but things are getting back to normal from last few days. I agree there is some algorithm change.

why people don't simply accept that at 1 million new images added every week....millions of photos in instagrama and zillion in all web....it's clear that the cause of the falling of earning for single contributor is ue to this....people sold people sold a lot because there was zero competition...take lifestyle...in the last 4 5 yeats many big contributors have entered, a lot of talented have entered...nowadays if yuri arcurs began from scratch he would sell much much less...when he uploaded god lifestyle he was one of the best now he would be one of the bunch.
so the only way to keep up with earning is shooting and uploading content.

This can be one of the reason but not entirely acceptable.
You are correct with the million added every week and zillion in all web. But note there is no commercial license to all zillion web photos.
So we are left with million... if you watch closely almost 70% of the content is useless. Check the newest first and you will know.

Now, looking other side of the industry. Though the images database is increasing there is also increase in demand. Things are becoming digital and people need images to build their online presence. Millions of new blogs are formed every month, those bloggers somewhere look for royalty free images.
And then there is advertising market which is vast in itself. There are so many of new youngsters who want to build their identity and form new brands, they too need images.
There are so many new companies registered everyday and royalty free option is the best solutions for startups.
