New Sites - General / Re: How is VectorStock?
« on: February 11, 2010, 15:43 »Yes... IMO everyone that participates is subscriptions is contributing to the problem. Its only this way since all the power is in the hands of business and not the contributor. There need to be some sort of a union/group that has some leverage or voice.Your looking out for your own interests by spreading your work out to as many places as you can getting a few bucks here and there on sites that have good quality artwork for ridiculously low prices. The problem i have about supporting sites like these are there will always be people like you that is constantly driving down the perception of how much you can buy an image for in this market. Buyers get accustomed to seeing certain type of work for such a low rates they will think everything else is too expenisive. I put u in the thief category because essentially, your robbing future generations of designers livelyhood by getting your quick bucks now.
This is the same deal Shutterstock offers. In fact, the vectorstock deal is better because they do sell some images higher than $1 and you have the option of moving up to 40% pay rate. SS doesn't offer those things. You can also move up the pay scale at Vectorstock much faster than at SS. If you have a problem with me working with Vectorstock, you should have just as big a problem with everyone on this forum working with SS. If I'm a thief, everyone that works with SS gets that same label, by your definition.
Can I ask if you sell with SS yourself?
i dont agree with the subscription model so i dont upload to SS.
I only upload to one place and u can pretty much figure that one out and most of my stuff is vectors... there is a reason for me to go incognito on here as i am seeing what else is out there and doing my homework and find out about vectorstock. this site really pisses me off.
