Thank you all for the information. If it is as Leaf said arround the earnings between Dreamstime and Shutterstock then it definetely is worth my time. And if it is as much as Traveller said, that would be great! However Traveler, if I make the amount /image/month as you do in the average on Alamy , it will still be below my microstock earnings. But I would be interested to see your portfolio, you seem to be one of the more successful from us on Alamy. You can send me also a PM if you do not want share it in public. Anyway, I understand if you want to stay anonym and do not want to show me your portfolio. I am selling mainly penguins, but probably will have a few editorial images soon.

I have just been accepted by Alamy. I do have a few questions:
1. Can someone tell what you can expect to make in the average on alamy in $/month per images. (I guess for most of us it is $1-$2 per month /image on microstock.)
2. What is the percentage of images from your portfolio at Alamy you can expect to have a download?
3. Is it wiser to sell an image Royalty Free if you do not sell it anywhere else or to sell is RM or licensed?
I am really curious about Alamy. I know that the answers might differ a lot, but just to give me an idea.
Thanks!

I just bought a Samsung Sycmaster 223BW. 22 " widescreen. I am so happy with it. I can see 32 bars .. Why can you see only 16? Just joking, I can see everything perfectly clear In such an improvement, I can even see now why Istock rejects some of my images

Sales have been picking up. I had a couple of dls every day the last three days from FT. Is V2 finaly fixed, custumers are back and summer slump is over? That would also explain why Fotolia just came out with a press release, now buyers can experience Fotolia in fully functioning V2 version.
Everywhere else dls start to pick up too.. I am looking forward to September.

Thank you I will consider this. Lots of photographers like 7000 or so. They have special press days, the 11th and 12th of September. It is much better then, even if you are not interested in the press conferences, you can take images of cars without having to deal with people between you and the car I suppose. On the normal days it will totally be crowded. I will try to sell them on Alamy and SS. Maybe also other agencies, but am not sure which ones. Maybe I will try scoopt.

Did anyone has experience in selling news images? I might be able to be on a real big event which will be probably in all big news papers arround the world. I plan to take my camera with me But however I am not sure yet where to sell those gigabytes of images I hopefully will shoot. I need to get akkredited as a press photographer. I can go there without being it, but the akkreditation would open a few more doors. There are two possible ways: 1. a letter of confirmation signed by the chief editor 2. a copy of a valid press card I do not know yet how to get one of these except one of you guys is by coincidence a chief editor and needs images. I do not want to do the deal with the Shutterstock press pass, because of the exclusivity. Any other ideas? Oh and for those who are interested and are by accident in Frankfurt, Germany. It is the IAA. I think the biggest international motor show. www.iaa.de.

You might be right. But iofoto is not that long in microstock as Yuris and Andres and therefore has not so many dls. Look at there stats at DT. Iofoto joined Feb 2007 and has allready more than half the dls Yuris has. Yuris is there since end of 2005. But probably you cannot really argue in this way. For some people some agencies just do not seem to work. However Hidsey seems to be happy at IS

Hatman, you never know, maybe there is someone at SS with more Dls/day then Yuris, maybe iofoto. I think he has a lot more images online then Yuris. However, there might be, one or so but not quite a number of photographers who have so many downloads. I guess I would stay where I am If I am Hidesey. Exclusivity is not allways a bad thing. It makes some things a lot easier. She is at the top at IS. I think money probably is not a problem in her case.

Thank you!! Your are now the second I know of who voted for me, thanks a lot!! And thanks JC-SL! Yep Sharply 's idea was great. The last polar bear in the same setting will follow soon And thank you also to Madelaid, Jean,Tom, Berryspun, Snem and who else I have forgotten. They have a team of judges who will decide which will be the image of the year on sept. 4th I believe.

Thanky yu! I diddnt now my Englisch is so gut Seriously thank you for your feedback, also directed to Lee! It is really encouraging to get that. If you post days after days news on the website, never knowing if someone really values it, its kind of tireing. At least I knew that some people are looking at it, by looking at Google Analytics, thats whats kept me going. Appreciate it! Now hopefully with more authors... if I find some, it would be more interesting I guess. I want to make it sound a bit more less commited then it might have sound in the first post, when I asked for authors: it even would help if you post once in a month. Or post once, see if you like it, if not, thats ok, it is really not something you have to be commited to. Its like in this forum, by being a member you do not have to post regularly. You post if you feel like posting..

Hmm, I might rethink that, if I have masses of images. For now I am occassionally just uploading 1-5 a day. So I do not spent much time uploading in gerneral.

I think it was mentioned on your forum some time when you where on vacation you have to click: Do you want to sell extended licenses "no" and then "yes" again, then the price should be normal again.

Is anyone interested to be an author for the microstock news site? Benefits for now would be to be able to include your referral link in the articles you post. Requirements are: To have some background in microstock. To have good written English (Better than me :-)) To post once in while. you do not have to post a certain amount, just when you have time and want to. There is no contract of course and you can quit any time you want. I moved the news section to a blog: www.microstocknews.blogspot.com. It is not perfect, I know, I will work on it to improve the site. However that might take some time. The topics are everything news related to microstock. The article should be as objective as possible even to people who hate microstock, so no insulting of course. (Well maybe the posts can be a little biased towards microstock ) If I get overwhelming responses, I will probably limit it for now to a few authors. Just know that there are only 10-20 visits a day currently and I do not know how many will visit in future and where this leads. That someone uses your referral link is possible but you cannot be sure of that. Anyone interested? You can PM me. Thanks :-)
