I agree. It may please investors in the short term, but I think buyers are finding it frustrating to try to pick good images from the avalanche of cruddy similars. And their continuing site outages are p*ssing people off. Adobe is the new rising star.
My sales don't reflect a "rising star". My Adobe sales have been fairly constant over the last couple of years while SS has been slightly dropping...fwiw

29.85p will be a big question mark for customers even if they are accepted (which they probably won't be) so why not just change them to 29.97p in basically any software? FCP X, Premiere, After Effects etc.
I suppose I could do that in say Davinci Resolve, but I read somewhere that the whole file needs to be processed because the frame rate is embedded in the video data as well as the header. I will look into that however. I'm guessing the phone can't handle all the data and just slows down in the capture (the phone claims to be shooting at 30P).

I have noticed that when recording in 4K 30p on my Android phone, in fact there can be small variations in the frame rate. Some videos are 30p, some slightly less (e.g. 29.85). Will this be a problem when uploading to SS and P5? I know that strictly speaking they want 29.97p or 30p. Is there a way to handle this or is it not realistic to use Android smartphone for video?.
Thanks

Just tried a dji osmo mobile 2 gimbal with my motorola g5 plus phone in a store with the dji app. It seems when recording at 4K, it uses a slow frame rate of 23fps. The phone with it's native video recorder app does 29.97fps at 4K.
Anyone have any idea why the dji app uses an odd slow frame rate of 23fps?
Problem resolved. it was an app setting.

Hi Matt - I was pretty excited about this because I had over $935 in earnings between Jan. and July of this year alone (as of this month its well over $1,000.) I've been watching my mailbox patiently, but it's been more than 8 weeks since the initial announcement and I have still not received the email. So now I'm wondering if I misunderstood the terms of the benefit.
Contact us through the contributor portal and we'll take a look. If you have that much in earnings and still haven't received a code it would be for one of 3 reasons...the email was overlooked by you or went to spam (sender is CompEXT), you haven't had at least one image approved this year or your approval ratio is below 50%.
-Mat
Mat, now I am confused. I met the sales criteria, had an approval rate over 50% and had more than one image approved this year as of the date of the first announcement of this program and I have not yet received a code as well. I contacted support and understood that they have not yet sent out all the codes. Are you saying they have(sent out all the codes for people meeting the criteria from "day 1")?....should I contact support again?
Thanks
Yes, if you were qualified on day one you would have already received the code. Submit a request for information through the contributor portal.
-Mat
Just as an FYI. I submitted my request explaining the situation. Got a response a few hours later agreeing that I qualified and a resend of the code! Should be good to go! Thanks!

I am primarily a stills shooter and want to shoot some stock video. What would be a good cam choice for under $1000? Maybe the Panasonic G85? I would be shooting people stuff, but not what would be characterized as high speed action shots. More like people in offices etc. Would like to have stabilization.

While grateful for this offer. Some of us are still nervous who qualified on the day of the announcement but haven't received our codes yet.

Note the "or".
That was my initial understanding too. However, I qualified for that 300 assets accepted before they even announced this, and have more than 300 additional new assets accepted since that time.
But I have not received any coupon? (I am nowhere near the dollar amount, as my Adobe portfolio was zero until April of this year) I have also not received any response to my query to them to see if there was a problem somewhere (though the email to them was only sent Thursday, so it might be too soon to expect a response?)
Did you contact them via the adobestock contact link?...that is the recommended method. I had the >=$500 sales but <300 uploaded assets. The response I got within a couple of days was a little cryptic, but it sounds like they are still sorting things out.

I've checked and searched and nothing from CompEXT.
I didn't see anything about opening a case, but used the Contact Us from the contributor part of Adobe Stock, which I hope will get to the correct people
Exactly the same for me, thanks Matt for your help
This is weird. I searched my email and nothing there. However, when I was filling in my email search box, I started typint "CompEXT" and the field automatically got filled in with "[email protected]" indicating that there must have been an email from that address at some point. Nothing came back in my search...must have been deleted . Guess I will open a ticket as recommended
Okay, I just went on Adobestock site. I saw no way of opening a case, so I went into chat. The person at the other end wasn't even close to understanding the issue. I gave up and asked the representative if there was a way to put in a written request. The rep. said no, there is only chat and calling up an 800 number.
We don't have chat. You were at Adobe.com it sounds like. Go the the Adobe Stock Contributor Portal and click the link at the bottom of the page that says "contact us."

Mat,
Thanks. I have submitted a request via "contact us" on Adobestock contributor. Hopefully it will get resolved.
Mat I got a response back from Adobestock support: "You have uploaded a total of 19 photos and 4 videos so far this year. So far you are not on the qualifying list, but you might still receive a code this year for your earnings, please give it a few more weeks." I have exceeded the $500 threshold a while ago. I don't get it?!? What gives?

Is there anyone else who is qualified who hasn't received a code?
I'm in that situation, but wondered if the codes didn't all go out at once for whatever reason and they're not yet done.
A suggestion would be that in the contributor section on Adobe Stock, they could note that you were qualified/not; coupon issued (and perhaps put the number there as well as in email) or not. It'd save wear and tear on support staff
same here

Hi there,
This is Dennis who helps oversee video for Adobe Stock. I'm very excited about this program and what it does for the Stock community and our contributors. Super excited to see it come to life and hopeful that the community at large takes advantage of it.
Obviously, I'm very focused on the video portion - so if you have specific questions, please let Mat or I know!
Upload that 4k and HD content!
Yours in content, Dennis Radeke

when do you expect to start accepting editorial video and stills?

I notice in the poll results Shutterstock is much closer to iS exclusive than it used to be. Wonder if that has any real meaning or not.

Of course the other issue with going exclusive at iS nowadays is that your portfolio will be selling at a significantly lower price point than if you had submitted all your content as an exlcusive (I forgot what the ratio is). I forget the different collections and price points for non-ex vs. ex. submitted content.
On iS, indie content is 1 credit and exclusive content is 3 credits. All content is in premium access, no idea how the pricing there works; only some exclusive content goes to Getty.
btw, my only one image on sale in getty, can you think what starange it is, I have almost 8k images on istock but only one of them is on sale in getty
I believe you can only get content into Getty if you are exclusive at iS. Were you exclusive at iS when you submitted your 8000 images?

Much lower than previous month. It seems the most volatile segment is "roaylty free still".

The language says "or": "...be among the first 20,000 Adobe Stock Contributors to upload at least 300 accepted assets or earn $500 (USD) in royalties for the period Jan 1-Dec 31, 2018...."
So if we have not uploaded >=300 assets but meet the $500 sales criterion we still qualify?
