So mine was on page 12 and it's gone now, too. Either they have shifted things around, which will mean going through more pages, or they are down. But yesterday when I checked there were 790 pages, today 793. I hope the stock sites are keeping tabs, too. With all the new sites macrosaur posted today, we sure have our work cut out for us. Another reason sub sites are garbage is they allow scum to stockpile like this. I'm sure most of the work found in these places is taken from subscription sites. When I browsed through the first 25 pages yesterday, there were packs with Getty, Comstock, and other watermarks showing. I don't think the thieves are particularly discriminatory. Edit: yeah, the site is loading really slow today. Maybe all the contributors checking for their work are overloading the servers.

I really prefer not to ignore people. I would rather try to work with reasonable people. But you responded exactly as I figured you would. Good! I'm willing to bet I'm not the only person who hit the ignore button for this person (lisafx already copped to it too...no picking on her?). FD-Amateur...I did acknowledge the fact that macrosaur did us a favor and reported the thread and thanked him for it. Read the posts above. Lisa, I'm going to go look and see if mine are down.

I'm never posting again.
How about some emotion?
Like "I'm never * posting again"?
I put him on ignore again. Just for you, Paulie. No, no one has ever actually complained about me not putting the quoter in before. I thought most people read the whole thread. You could put me on ignore! Too bad this thread has been derailed by the bulls*it. It's pretty important.

If you are providing a digital image of a watercolor painting, you must provide proof that you painted the image also. If someone else painted the image and you photographed it, you must provide a property release. If you did the painting yourself, you STILL must provide a property release.
Search the IS website, you will find one available for download. Search these forums, there is a wealth of info on property and model releases.

I didn't say we have to ignore them of course. macrosaur is talking about myself and lisafx saying we were ignoring him. No, no way we should ignore these pirating sites. And I agree, there are likely thousands more, but I'm not going to sit around and do nothing.

well then you deserve a * OFF. and don't bother, you'll never ever hear me again on this board, *. I'M OFF. Yeah, that's pretty much why you were ignored. You don't have to leave the board, just realize not all of us want to hear the whining and repetitive rhetoric and negativity and swearing. Just cut the "what you think is shocking language" and you won't get ignored. Simple. And you have exactly the same right as the rest of us...if you don't want to hear what I have to say, by all means, ignore me! Sometimes I don't want to hear what I have to say. Edit: I do appreciate your pointing out these bad sites though. That takes money from ALL of our pockets. We have that in common.

I started at IS, and somewhere after 100 images that I uploaded, I started getting downloads. When I started getting downloads, I started researching other sites and uploaded to them also.
My personal opinion is that one should upload to and gather results from at least 2-3 other companies to see where their portfolio might fit best. It could be that a person gets way more downloads at one site than another, because of their particular subject matter, vectors, etc.

Static for me both in terms of revenue and RPD whilst everywhere else is booming. But this makes total sense to me that some are showing ups and some are showing downs. We all know that our ports do well in some markets at certain times of the year and don't do well on other sites. That's the whole point of remaining independent and spreading ports across different markets. It's kind of like watching your 401k on a daily basis or getting on the scales every day to weigh yourself. Don't do it, you'll make yourself crazy. You have to look at the overall, quarterly or yearly view, not a weekly view. IMHO. But with all the changes, I am sure some folks will see declines where previously they did well and vice versa. I am seeing declines on IS, when really, I was expecting jumps since the cost of exclusive files went up. Some people like roller coasters, others get sick and hurl.

I have macrosaur on ignore I did too but was interested in what he had to say about this. I have temporarily unignored him...I hate ignoring people but sometimes they just keep posting the same whining and rhetoric, over and over. It's like the boy who cried wolf...then when they do have something important to say, you miss it. Anyway, I sent emails to IS, SS, DT and BigStock, asking if this was a partner site. IS and BigStock have replied. No, not a partner site. Definitely a bad one, and IS had been notified already by others. CE at IS was kind enough to send me a copy of a cease and desist notice to send to this site. If anyone would like it, PM me.

Not for me. March was BME for me as far as RPD in the past year.

macrosaur, did you send an email to Getty, alerting them to that page that you found?
I sent an email to Shutterstock, as I found some watermarked images. I am asking if this might be a partner site. If it is, then we can call off the dogs. I really wish these sites were more transparent with their partners.

I found one of lisafx's too on page 25. And a bunch with shutterstock watermarks. I will send some emails to them right now.

I recognize the yellow house model because I've used it for a mortgage newsletter I used to do. Don't remember which agency though...could be a comstock disc, we had a collection of those.

I just found one of mine. Go to the first rapidshare link above, click on stock photos on the left. go to page 12, the valentines day pack. It's in the 6th row down. I made a screen shot to keep.
The images on page 9 of crazy people look familiar too.
There are 790 pages of this stuff. They have found a way to hide behind technology, that's for sure. A search of valentines day doesn't bring up individual photos, they are all wrapped up in these packs.
I will be sending out some emails today.

i don't think this is a bad thing. they are a featured contributor on alamy's front page. so, they're not only legit but it's a backdoor entry for those who want to be on alamy without passing the test or uploading. You had me excited there for a minute. After browsing through the MediaBakery images, spot checking about 80 pages, the images are all RM. So just because we have RF images on BigStock, doesn't mean we will automatically show up on Alamy. One of these days I need to jump into the RM fray.

Thanks for the explanation, MediaBakery. It is much appreciated.

I am still seeing steady downloads. Not that it's anything to write home about, but better than the previous few months.

You can opt-out at BigStock. Go to Your Account, then Uploads. You should see this: Thanks packer guy. Found it. And after the explanation from MediaBakery above, I went ahead and opted in here on BigStock. Maybe it will help kick my sales up there. I do wish these sites would send out an email to contributors when they sign up with resellers though, so we know where our images are going to be and what the terms are. Sure would cut down on a lot of confusion.

Does anyone know where the opt-out checkbox on BigStock is now? I've looked around all my profile pages, etc. and I don't see it. I wanted to be sure I am opted out from partner programs with BigStock, since they are participating in this MediaBakery thing.

I would think a Google of your camera, shooting video, etc. would bring up a host of things to research. I recommend lynda.com too.

This partner site stuff is starting to pi$$ me off.
My images are listed with a copyright notice from "Colossus RF" - god knows what collection that is and where it came from. I think it's a partner site, too. But I don't know why your copyright notice would change, click. Maybe send a message to the sites you think they came from and let them know your copyright has been changed? The partner sites were p*ssing me off too so I opted out of them all. Unless the site specifically tells me where my photos are going and separates out the monies coming in, I'm not going to participate. Maybe cutting off my nose to spite my face, but there's too much room for not-so-accurate accounting in there.

Is there any expiration date on usage of these files? I just read something on one of these threads or maybe in another forum that said if you subscribe for the month of April, you must download and use the files in the month of April. If you want to use images in May, you need to buy another subscription. I don't know the exact terms, though. Haven't read the fine print!

What is annoying is that they don't just halt uploading until it's fixed-there are hundreds of files piling on with the great likelihood they'll never be seen again. I think they may have done that. I was uploading six this morning. Went to do other things. Just noticed DeepMeta was still open on my computer. Looked, and two were pushed back into my need to upload space. If I try to send them to IS, it says I don't have any upload slots. And this morning I had 21 left.
