Hate to change the subject from long and thick umbrellas  :o , but back on topic...

Luis, it looks like the strategy is to take the high rollers first. I've totally forgotten about SF and have other lucrative irons in the fire. 30 days for an approval is understandable, 3 or 4 months is not. Good luck to you.

I don't think that is the strategy...I'm in and I am FAR from being a high roller.

come on, are you a regular??? :P

123RF / Re: Review Notifications?
« on: October 06, 2010, 12:09 »
I've been with 123RF for a long time now, but I've never been able to figure out whether you can tick something somewhere to receive email notifications when files are accepted or rejected.

If you can, has anyone discovered where it is?

I have never receive emails regarding reviews..

I joined to Stockfresh 1.June.
Affiliate program was accepted immediately but my application waiting. It is not fair. I may make advertisement for them but upload images no ??? For me would be better if they reject my applications as I must wait for now 4 months.

you are 100% right.. maybe I should remove the banner from my crappy blog :P

Featurepics.com / Re: Upload Limits on Feature Pics??
« on: October 05, 2010, 21:00 »
Where does one find upload limits on the Feature Pics Website?

I FTP'ed 10 photos today (Tuesday) and when I went to submit them, the web page indicated that I had already reached my upload limit.

The last time I uploaded and submitted files was on Saturday which means that this should be a new week.

Don't know but actually FP is not worth for sure!

Hi Peter! There a few pretty small agencies approving and reviewing photos pretty soon with 3 or 4 persons.. I just don't understand why you aren't? Are the reviews like IS, more than 1 week? I dont get it sorry..! I am talking about GLO

No, usually reviews are done within a day and we'd like to keep it that way. If you don't get it, do the math. If 700 new contributors are trying to upload their whole portfolio at the same time with a 25 images / day quota, there's no way you're going to be able to inspect everything properly with 3 people.

sorry but GLO is in fact being strict and are doing a great job.. just like in stock, ones do more other not.. sorry but this is the truth!

Tamas, I can only tell you the same thing I told many times over. Hundreds of people are applying, we have a very small team and we don't necessarily approve contributors in order. This is to ensure fast reviews once you're in. I know it's frustrating but we really can't do any more at the moment.

We're making progress though because in the first time in SF history we have more people online (710) than waiting (650) and today we're going to hit 350,000 images. :)

I wonder how the queue works..??

- number of sales (DT, IS and DP provide this kind of information, other can have some stats but harder..)
- number of files ?? (guess not..)
- other ??

there is no rush once we heard that there are a few sales but not so many buyers... I guess more than 4 months is a long time.. yeh I know all about sales, reviews, etc.. come on.. get more people, be more confident..

General Stock Discussion / Re: Volume of Submissions Now Reducing?
« on: September 22, 2010, 18:32 »
I'm starting to see some evidence that the volume of new images being uploaded may actually be falling rather than relentlessly rising as it had been for the last 6 years.

Shutterstock's 'New images added this week' figure has dropped to about 70K per week for the last couple of months when previously it had been over 110K. Of course this may be due to vacations and/or a harsher review policy although I can't say I've noticed the latter.

Istock have increased upload limits too and not apparently on a temporary basis. Until the recent shenanigans reviews, even for independents, had been very swift so maybe the inspectors were somewhat under-employed.

Is the 'market' finally settling and finding it's own level? Are less successful contributors simply finding it not worth their effort?

Any thoughts?

I believe microstockers are leaving HONESTLY or just left their portfolios up and not uploading... I hope more will go :P

Newbie Discussion / Re: Rejected Istock image - advice please.
« on: September 22, 2010, 18:31 »

Or maybe stock photography has disabled people to being able to see a normal image as correct because they are used to looking at oversaturated images all the time? ;-)

Yes, too. Exactly what I meant with "Microstock is fiction": they want it more than real.

I will remember that statement.

Microstock is fiction...

It is now beginning to make sense.

Ok some pictures with some well done photoshop (not a lot of processing..) are going to have a lot more sales.. I actually believe that I don't sell more because of that.. I don't edit nothing.. Just on panoramics shoots maybe.. just do some basic cloning, healing, align horizon (simple stuff..).. all my shoots are straight from camera..! a pro photoshop guy will earn a lot more in microstock.. I just dont have the patience to do it.. the keywording is already a pain so :P
