The link you provide, Rob, mentions nothing about how commissions for ELs revert to standard royalties with the Legal Guarantee. Your link only talks about how every file has a Legal Guarantee or an Extended Legal Guarantee. Can you point me to the Contributor Agreement or whichever document states that we only get paid a standard royalty on ELs if a Legal Guarantee is purchased? I must have missed that big time.

I just uploaded 9 images via FTP. They are all in the rejected tab. 9 don't even have thumbnails. When I hover over the one that does have a thumbnail, it says Problem Loading Thumbnail (Please Resubmit).

Oh...looks like the OP got discouraged. I must say one must have a tough skin to be in microstock. sjlocke, you know who you are. just teasin. Most of the time you crack me up...until your ire is pointed at me, then my feelings get hurt. I would love to see a picture of a spingleplonk.

DP is clearly overcapitalized (and we know why) I don't know why either. Care to PM me?

Well then, my question is why do they leave us to guess what subjects they are needing more of... Some sites actually tell you what they are looking for. You just need to surf around and spend some time looking. For instance, here's the page on istock: http://www.istockphoto.com/tutorial_5.0_neededfiles.php

What a hoot! I'm afraid I would be thrown on the rotten pile then and used for flowers.

Actually today is only a holiday in a few provinces in Canada. Maybe that's why Family Day doesn't show on my calendar.

I never read that ex-SX contributors could log in directly to TS to look at their earnings. From what I understand, ThinkStock is a dummy site...meaning you can't directly upload to it and you can't check your earnings there. No forum, no nothing. The only thing you can do is search for your photos. Sales are reported through your StockXpert account and you get paid from StockXpert.

your graphic design exp could actually hurt at first, unless you really look at what stock photos are -- useful for designers, not necessarily works of art themseves I also am a graphic designer and I think that experience helped tremendously with my photography. For many years I had to buy stock photos to use in newsletters, catalogs, ads, etc. so when it came time for me to shoot, I had a better understanding of what I, as a buyer, was looking for.

but then I realized it's Presidents Day here in the US. IS is in Canada...do they close for our Presidents Day or do they just happen to have a holiday today also? I don't see any Canadian holidays on my calendar and all of the rest of them show. Just curious.

It would be helpful for you to post some examples of photos that got rejected so that we can give you some ideas of problems to work on. Or you could post your rejects on the site's forum in the critiques category...there are always helpful people there, too.

Yes, they must be finally getting around to it, because this morning I could still log in, now I can't. Glad I took the screenshot this am.

They are precious Madelaide! So colorful, too. Mat your photo is beautiful as well.
Hi Jill! Long time, no see! Oliver is quite the little talker! That is too funny...almost freaky because it sounds like a person but looks like a bird.

I am actually a new uploader to Cutcaster...I uploaded a few yesterday via your online uploader...no problems. I uploaded about 20 this morning using Fetch...no problems. I'm on a Mac OS 10.5.8 using Firefox 3.0.17.
Nice site, by the way...easy uploading and pushing images through. I like it!
I've only found one thing that is kind of a pain...when uploading model releases, having to upload a picture of the person in addition to the MR...I haven't really had to do that before. IS started asking for a pic of the shoot on their MRs and PRs, but I haven't really shot models since then. But I have tons of other pics to upload, so will save the people ones for last.
I hope this site is successful!

I thought the site would be still active for TS submissions? I think the site was supposed to be active if you were opted in to TS, you could see your balances on StockXpert. But honestly, there have been so many things they have said that don't work right, I'm not sure what they are doing (neither are they, apparently).

It would be nice if they all listed their partner sites under the reseller sales sites so you know up front who sells where. It would be nice. From the perspective of knowing who is selling what legally, too. I opted out of BigStock and DT. Until they start listing the earnings made from partner sites, I will opt out. May be losing sales, but I think I should be able to see whether it's beneficial for me to be opted in.

I deleted my portfolio and requested a final payout but I can log in. Perhaps it is just a website problem any you will be able to log in later? I deleted my portfolio and requested final payment somewhere around Feb. 2 or 3 and I can still log in to the same page I always did. But I just took a screenshot of my earnings, in case it disappears. And I agree with tomasvargyasi...it isn't our problem they are overwhelmed. I don't know why they insist on treating us like idiots. They KNEW when they bought StockXpert what their plan was...they knew some people would go to Thinkstock and they knew that some who were at StockXpert were already at IS and when the time came some of those people would not opt in to TS. They knew ahead of time how overwhelmed they would be...we, on the other hand, were told nothing and when we are told something, it's still nothing because it doesn't work the way they said it would. I guess the word professional isn't in Getty's vocabulary.

In their forums they mentioned it might be a bit delayed because of the overwhelming demand for a payout. Like Getty didn't know there were going to be a ton of people asking for payouts?

Usually BigStock has been one of the more reliable sites for uploading. I know, I haven't had an issue in about 5 years. That's the scary part.

Looks like these days sites are doing their best to push contributors to exclusivity with somebody else For me, I don't think that's the answer, but I am beginning to believe it's best to opt out of partner sites. There just isn't enough accountability on some sites. While I don't believe contributors are necessarily getting ripped off, some sites don't separate out or even tell you who their partner sites are. For instance, DT started partnering with Pixmac. All well and good. AFAIK, the sales that came from Pixmac was never separated out anywhere on the financial stat pages of DT so we could actually see if we were getting any sales and if it was worth it to be opted in. StockXpert did separate the sales when they partnered with Jupiter and photos.com...that was good. IS is separating them so a contributor can see. If I am wrong about DT and Pixmac, please correct me. It just seems like we keep finding our images on sites, and we have to wonder if they are stolen or are a partner site. We shouldn't have to guess.
