I don't know if this has been mentioned but it's shocking that model released images can be made available like this.

All I'm saying is the line has to be somewhere.Yes I agree. If they bump up people that need 2 more credits then the people that need 3 more will want to be bumped up as well. The line has to be drawn somewhere. 680

I added 7 new sites this year and this one brings me the biggest monthly pay out by quite a big margin.
ETA I just looked and my RPD there last month was 68c which is about the same as SS was for me last month. 683
Image Sleuth / Re: Biggest Rip Off in microstock history! Shocking finds..« on: January 11, 2013, 10:45 »Oh grow up. You are acting like a 12 year old!!!!!I do not have anything against you. I just dun see to eye for your sin in reporting good contributors with 1 or 2 minor fault. What you are committing is a very bad karma, and i believe one of these days you will feel the same as the victims you reported. It is right to report contributors who copies exactly and have many unrightful pics from others, but not good contributors who recreate them in new expression and style. 684
123RF / Re: 123rf redeemed credit FAIL« on: January 11, 2013, 10:43 »It is definitely can change monthly but not sure what day it changes on.That sucks, but hopefully you will bump next month (I think they calculate on the previous 12 months from the current month, rather than calendar year) 685

Tracing other people's work is stealing and should be reported by anybody who sees it. It affects us all if it is allowed to go unpunished and Microbius has done nothing to warrant your attacks on him!!!!? I only looked through your previous posts to return the favor after you looked at my posting history. 686
General Stock Discussion / Re: A newbies view of the MS market« on: January 11, 2013, 04:19 »
I don't think that much profit is made from uncollected earnings as they are to some extent cancelled out by what it cost them in admin charges to approve the contributor and review the images.

General Photography Discussion / Re: Advise to boost my sales« on: January 11, 2013, 04:08 »Yes you are right also. It's very difficult to get started in stock nowadays because you are either producing images with limited use or comepeting against the established contributors. The only way to really get sales nowadays is to do a new take on subjects that sell well.Your port is full of images that have limited use as stock. Have a look at the sort of images that sell well and change your subject matter.Whereupon you'll be competing against all the established high-fliers, some of whom are indicating overall falls in income, particularly at iStock (obviously), but even some indies. 689

PhotoDune / Re: Model Releases on PhotoDune - what to do?« on: January 10, 2013, 12:43 »Hi guys, I completely understand your frustration and wish I had some better news for you. But at this point, the only real option is to upload to PhotoDune under the current conditions or to hold off until a better system is in place. I do know that PhotoDune improvements are being discussed but since PhotoDune is not our only marketplace, it must share developer resources. That's excellent Josh. Thankyou I will now have another go at uploading. ![]() 691

iStockPhoto.com / Re: iStock's Alexa Rank continues to drop« on: January 10, 2013, 04:44 »Even with subs my RPD at DT is still over double and sometimes treble what it is at IS and my earnings are also over double what they are at IS. My RPD at fotolia is about the same as at IS as are the earnings.Introducing subs is lowering prices and there are many agencies that did introduce subs and now these sales are the majority on these sites for example FL and DT.But I am even more disgusted by the continuing lowering of prices and royalties on other sites. 693

I was actually pleased when I got a couple of negatives on a post I wrote as it made me think twice before I post, about how things can be taken in a way you didn't mean them to.

Dreamstime.com / Re: Are DT sales being reported?« on: January 02, 2013, 11:44 »
The sales that are coming through for me are a very high percentage of sub sales. Only 3 credit sales in the last 20 when normally it is about 50/50

I made a mistake and put how much I was down on last year per month instead of for the whole year and it was too late to rectify it by the time I realized.

So I don't think that explains it. 699
Dreamstime.com / Re: Are DT sales being reported?« on: January 02, 2013, 05:39 »For me, It is very different story. I started with DT recently. I submitted 21 images and all of them are pending approval since many days. I am thinking of switching to FT. I do not know whether wait is worth.Waiting a couple of weeks for approval isn't really a reason for not uploading to a site. Some sites approve images in a matter of hours but sell virtually nothing. I'd much rather wait a week or two and have my images at a site that sells. Also you don't need to switch to FT, you can upload to both. 700
iStockPhoto.com / Re: Something positive at IS, royalty rate stays the same next year« on: January 01, 2013, 18:33 »Did anyone else see a huge - completely out of line with December sales - jump in their 2012 RC totals?I'm seeing exactly the same as you. My stats have also gone a couple of hundred over the threshold for 18%. I don't remember the figures last time I looked but it seems to have gone up by 1000s. If this is correct then I will actually go back up to 18% after going down last year. |
