@derby
just out of curiosity, were the rejected batches real images or AI?

And these bugs aren't new. I think when tailoring search results to promote "local" content was introduced a while back people started reporting problems with content not showing up (versus just different sort order preferences).
Adobe is a huge company and Adobe Stock is a very small cog in a very large system. Sometimes it doesn't get attention quickly/at all.
and these reports were never answered?probably not because it is confidential information. we need to see if the images resulting from the search are always the same,or if they change. for example if there are 200,000 "Tuscany" and in Cocos Islands the search shows only 100,000. Are these 100,000 images always the same?or do they change,so maybe it's intentional, for various reasons, that only 100,000 are shown instead of 200,000? maybe this way you can define it as a bug or not. However, all the images generated by AI are now 21,478,706 by doing the search from Italy,so I think they are in line with your search.

The discrimination thing was meant as a joke. Sorry - I probably should have used an appropriate emoji.
It is absolutely understandable for me that the search results must be different. A Central European family home usually looks different than one in the USA or Japan. This also applies to the topic of food and many other topics as well.
If I am a real estate agent in Germany, I search at AS optimally in German, because then I get more country-typical results displayed than with the English search - that also makes sense.
But if we stick to the example of Tuscany, it is not understandable that in Germany, the German name of Tuscany gets less than one tenth of the search results compared to the search with the English name of Tuscany. Because it doesn't matter whether I travel to Tuscany as a Turk, a Chinese or an Australian - it looks the same to everyone.
sure, but don't take it for granted, maybe there are reasons. but in any case it is always better to raise these doubts, why not, because perhaps it is a technical problem, anything could be.

I don't know Wilm, see what Mat tells you,but I don't see particular discrimination or particular problems in different searches results from different countries.
maybe there will be reasons, related to legal issues, marketing issues,or any other reasons.
What I know and what I see is that Adobe's sales system seems the fairest for everyone,if I compare this to other agencies.
Well, i think the translation problem is also detrimental to the agency AS.
If all customers know that they have to search in English, it is not a general problem. Then it is only a problem for the contributors who have been keywording in their native language for years.
But I think that many customers don't know that. Because it doesn't make sense that there is a language selection and a region selection if these potential buyers get less than 10% of the results displayed that are actually in the database.
This is comparable to a customer coming into a supermarket where less than 10% of the goods are visible relative to the goods actually present in the stockroom. There is a risk that these customers will go to the competition because there the shelves are bulging.
look,I've seen that the translations from English to Italian are very well done, and I say this because in comparison to other smaller agencies, there is a notable difference with Adobe, which has better translations from what I've seen, there may be some errors but almost none from what I've seen. for the rest it also seems obvious to me that there are differences if you search for different languages in different countries. I have traveled quite a bit in the past, now I haven't traveled since 5 years,it's become too expensive,i traveled between various continents and countries, and it seems clear to me that when I order a plate of spaghetti Carbonara,or pizza Diavola, depending on where I am in the world I find myself faced with a completely different dish! And there are no better or worse places in the world, just as there are no better or worse people in one country compared to another, every world is a country. You may be right about some things,i can't say for sure, but you certainly can't talk about discrimination from a company like Adobe, believe me I know, look at the big picture, you'll see that it's like that. There are certainly reasons,to maximize sales, reasons to make sales work for all contributors,or legal problems for example, and then also errors of course you can add these too if you want,I'm sure they'll make mistakes too,but it is not a company that discriminates,in fact I would say the opposite! However,in my opinion you are right to raise this problem, then I don't know if you can get some answers on how the search and sales system on Adobe Stock works.

Changing regions produces completely insane results
even the search from Italy for AI contents is different from yours. "AI" search show 13.199.418 AI images and 128479 AI videos. "IA"(intelligenza artificiale,Italian language) show 13.248.660 images. This is one way the Adobe Stock sales system is perhaps supposed to work?Maybe there is a reason why the searches are different?Maybe not? 242.005 results for "Toscana" near home

We can now request payout at $25.
yes and they no longer accept new content.
Over three months and nothing about the future or the changes?
I don't think there is any news about it yet. I was thinking that since it's a low revenue agency,Shutterstock could turn it into an agency that accepts AI,also as an experiment for them to see how it goes.

I have more than 15k video on portfolio, unfortunatly on shutterstock is complicated to have the detail of the resolution but on pond5 it's possible so
here my resolution sells in 2022:
4096x2160 : 28.6% 3840x2160 : 5.3% 2048x1080 : 50.61% 1920x1080: 15.1% 1280x720: 0.81%
and for 2023 (not finish):
4096x2160 : 19.2% 3840x2160 : 4.5% 2048x1080 : 46.7% 1920x1080: 27.9% 1280x720: 1.5%
so it looks like we sell more HD now
very interesting,thanks!

regarding the contents rejected by Adobe,I can only say my experience so far.
I haven't had any particular problems with rejections so far,I had photos and videos rejected and accepted in the normal level as always.
However,I am sure that the amount of content to be reviewed these days is considerable, and that mistakes will certainly have also been made,we are all human.
and I also know that it can really make you impatient at times, because you have worked on it,and when you see the rejections they are never pleasant.
I suppose that from the end of November the review situation will start to improve in time, not in quantity of rejections, but it's simply my idea, based on some things, which I won't be here to explain, also because I don't even know if that's the case.
from the beginning of next year in my opinion things will start to improve noticeably from all points of view.
but I repeat, these are just my ideas and considerations.

personally I'm taking it as calmly as possible,3 billion images have been generated since Firefly went online,so if we add up all the other AI we arrive at astronomical figures, and we are only at the beginning. ...
where do we find those stats? how many are submitted to agencies - obviously not all to AS
there are plenty of articles online about it,search for "3 billions of images generated with firefly" This news seems to be from October 10th obviously this is the number of images generated, not the number of images accepted for sale by Adobe Stock or other agencies.

Hi.
Since 4k has been around for a few years now, is producing Full HD 1080p footage still worth?
Unfortunately video has always been an after-thought to me despite ok sales and since I don't have 4k equipment I was wondering if at this time it wouldn't be a waste of time.
Thanks.
strange to say but I think so,the HD format sells better than a format that is not standard 4K. in short, the formats that sell the most are in my opinion 4096x2160 and 1920x1080 but I only have a few hundred videos, someone who has more experience than me in videos will be able to confirm or deny this.

still no contributor fund here.
anyway SS is waking up from hibernation, now the rain of sales is probably about to arrive, which generally for me lasts about a month or two and then goes back into hibernation for another 2-3 months.
during the seasonal rain of SS the number of sales suddenly goes up a lot and the price per image even, with good singles along the road.

the problem isnt just the long review times - it's random chance of review - many here reporting reviews of a week while others have images stewing for months.
i recently had a handful of images rejected (for the usual vague 'quality' reasons) that were submitted about a week ago, while many others (including AIM) have been there for 2 months
maybe it depends on the quantity you send,I never have such long times,a couple of weeks max, because I send about a thousand contents in a year. ...
while i've had over 700 images accepted at SS over the last 2 months, i've limited my uploads to AS to 50-100 per week. I continued to upload in order to get in line for the long review times.
meanwhile i have only had a few rejections since the end of august but none approved since then either.
worse, the system still rejects ai-gen for lack of model release -- it just rejected a series sent a month ago - and when you click to re-submit, it shows it knows the image is ai-gen but now has an addtl box to click that says "people here are fictional" and even worser, after making the changes, and saving or submitting again (the prompts vary!) nothing happens - the image doesnt show up in 'new' or 'submitted'
[i've send a msg to suppoort]
yes now you have to check the box that states that the people are not real,so when you sent them there was no option to check the box and they were rejected?and then you couldn't even send them again...what a mess! so the fact that you had few rejections until August and then none approved, confirms my weird theory that there is an increase in the rejection rate towards the end of the year, and that therefore the quantity uploaded affects rejections.

putting AI aside,Microstock is not dead but it is simply no longer for amateurs who want to make easy money,if you want to make money in this game you have to put money into it,travel, buy expensive equipment, models etc.....
what's really happening is the tougher chance to do stock full time. and putting money into travel is hardly the best approach to full time as it's already saturated.
i've been retired for awhile & i do manage to pay for 2 intl trips each year from stock income, but i wouldnt try to raise a family on it
of my travel pix the best sellers are generic people eating and casinos on cruise ships, not the destinations themselves
I agree, traveling is definitely no longer so much about the locations themselves, but more because you still have the opportunity to photograph different subjects, but then it depends on the locations, the little-known ones are better as you know,I have photos of rural towns unknown to 99.9% of the world's population that they sell! mine was a general discussion, because the money to make a good real microstock is definitely needed, don't tell me,my video camera does a max of 38402160 and another one that I have is HD max!

maybe it's possible that I sent an email to DP,as I said I don't remember because it's been about 3 years, but I sure deleted them all.
This was actually mentioned in the thread - They also do not delete content after e-Mail request: https://www.microstockgroup.com/depositphotos/we-can-not-delete-your-files-fro-dp/
very strange indeed!anyway it was 2012,perhaps something has changed in the meantime. Now I want to know how I did it too because I think I'll have to do it again soon! I still leave my content for a few months,It was going pretty well before, good enough for DP!

Depositphotos is easy and fast, and it is also a cloud storage, you can download all your contents,if you need them in the future.
the problem is that I don't like having content on which I have spent hours of work,on agencies that earn little profit, because of thieves.
i think who want to steal content take it from these small agencies to resell it on better agencies.
this is why I prefer to delete my contents in agencies where I sell little or nothing,if it's AI content (which DP doesn't accept) I don't care, but I don't leave my work on display for thieves in agencies that don't make much.
sales are poor,especially videos,from what I understand,because I have few videos anyway.

At some point I had a few images that I wanted to delete and after deactivating them, there was also a delete option. I don't know if that's still the case.
No, there is no delete button, just a re-activate button and I do not think there ever was. I found a thread from 2016 where it was already discussed that DP does not offer a delete option. Dreamstime is the agency where you have to deactivate images and then you get a delete option once you deactivate the image. Maybe you are confusing these two?
no I deleted them,I don't know now,but I deleted them because when I started reuploading this year I had no more content,I had deleted them all. maybe it's possible that I sent an email to DP,as I said I don't remember because it's been about 3 years, but I sure deleted them all.

I'm considering joining DepositPhotos for a little extra cash. So far, Ive mainly contributed to the big agencies like SS, IS and AS. I'm not expecting huge sales from DP (seeing as they're a small agency) but a few extra dollars would be nice.
Out curiosity, is it straight forward to remove or disable individual photos from your port at any time? And would those same images then be removed from the partner sites?
Also, is editing metadata after submission straight forward as well?
uploading photos and adding metadata to DP is very simple, one of the faster agencies for uploading content if not the faster ever. I deleted a lot of content on DP in the past so it can be done,I don't remember how a couple of years, maybe 3 years went by. this year I decided to try again and after uploading a couple of thousand contents I started selling a lot. now again I haven't sold anything for a month, but I haven't been uploading for a couple of months I think. so I believe that if you upload a lot of content regularly, you continue to sell otherwise you don't sell anything. Now I'll see how it goes,I'll wait a bit,but if I continue to sell absolutely nothing without new uploads,I'll quit again.

I don't know what Adobe Stock is doing, but I can - and have - observed the new approvals over the last couple of months.
What I see is that the same parade of mistakes continues - there are some decent images buried in the flood, of course.
If things were being taken care of, I'd expect to see fewer logos, extra/missing limbs/digits, laws of physics being mangled in photo-realistic images, etc. etc.
You're right about that, sorry I didn't notice your reply, wow it's already been a month! anyway yes, instead of rejecting valid content, they should clean up all these AI generated images uploaded without even looking at them,I agree 100% with this. I generate AI content on repeat these days, but first I divide it into categories, then I look at them all carefully, and I select them carefully, and I discard many,in a similar series I choose a maximum of 2-3 that are best for me...in short,a long process that takes time. some (many?) contributors don't care, they just want to generate and upload and Adobe shouldn't allow that. However,in Mat's latest livestream,he said that they are working on it. I think their situation also needs to be understood, because they are working on many things at the same time,I can only imagine what a mess they are dealing with!

that's why I try to earn some extra money on AI now,and I will focus in the future, when AI will be almost obsolete,(1 year?less?) on editorials and photos and videos of specific places and there are also other things that AI can't do.
Why write this? Now everyone who has invested billions in artificial intelligence will commit suicide. I'm afraid you'll become obsolete faster than AI.
obsolete for contributors, not for agencies or companies,Erik! and yes you are absolutely right!I will become obsolete long before AI!
