How long does it take before unsold files fall into the trap? I'm a compulsive editor with an itchy delete finger. I wanna mark my calendar!

Selling Stock Direct / Re: Ktools Photostore« on: February 21, 2011, 20:34 »
Ktools is intriguing. Perhaps the microstock coop concept could be built around a Ktools united algorithm where buyers could search several Ktools microstockgroup sites simultaneously via keywords. Just a thought (that's far past my technical knowhow). An coop administrator wizard would need compensation of course.... and a percentage of sales would be needed for marketing and promotion.... but wouldn't that be better than going it alone?

Panthermedia.net / PantherMedia joins the Middle Tier« on: February 08, 2011, 12:22 »
I noticed PantherMedia kicked it's way into the middle tier (congratulations). I already have accounts at the top eight. Kinda wondering... is Panther worth the trouble? Is it a well run company? Would love to hear feedback from current contributors. Thanks

My hope springs eternal that IS and FT will sink below the Middle Tier as better managed sites rise to prominence. 708

Pixmac / Re: Pixmac no longer a partner?« on: January 19, 2011, 06:52 »If Pixmac is no longer a partner of Dreamstime, Fotolia or Big Stock... why are 147 of my images still there? Kinda curious.... do they have other "partners"? I have far more images (1000+) at 123. But that could explain it. Thanks 711

For educational purposes, can you tell us which properties / government authorities have objected to use of images at your site. Did they get rid of the awful "free" image deal? Have they stopped deactivating unsold images after two years? I was planning to delete my two year old unsold images to avoid that stuff. Had my calendar marked.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Deactivating files on IS« on: November 06, 2010, 07:26 »
Perhaps we should make January zero istock upload month. Or at least deactivate a file for every one that gets accepted. Turning the "new files in 30 days column" on the contributor charts into page after page of zeros may get their attention. It would only work if the diamond crowns take part. I don't think the current management looks past page one.

My experience with them has been pleasant so far. I have about 850 photos at the site. I wish them well and hope they attract a ton of customers from other agencies (especially hellman and friedman).

The Janico site says they do background removals... I wonder if their work is to istocks specifications? I wouldn't want to pay for "too feathered or too rough" rejections. I get those for free. Would love to hear a review.

If nothing else, I appreciate Bigstock's attentiveness to a new thread about them. It's good they're watching this well run forum (Thanks Leaf). They have always answered my contributor questions quickly. Their service has not slacked since being purchased by Shutterstock. I hope they gain customers from those "less contributor friendly" services.
