I stopped uploading in July. I usually got a break every couple months when I got tired with they reviewing policy, they reject whole batch when they check one picture. This forces me to upload in small numbers, wait many days for reviews just to learn that whole batch was rejected. I managed to put 67 files online this year. The stats are as follows:
Total Views for : 863 Total Zooms for : 10 Average CTR for : 1.16 Total CTR for : 1.16 Average CTR on Alamy for last month : 0.78
I got one sale this year so it does not seem to be worth an effort.

For me they were always better than BigStock ;-) If StockXpert continues its trend it will also drop off top 6. Maybe CanStockPhoto will then jump in :-)

Does it mean all agencies will have now same reviewers and the will be no discrepancies in rejections between them? Now I would know that something is objectively bad or good. Now one agency says it is crap the other takes it and sells. No more confusion.

Images to IPTC/Exif information embedded inside file or you can have XMP sidecar file corresponding with image file. How about video files?

Overall I got exactly same result as in previous month but breakdown is completely different. SS gained back from terrible results and it is not almost at normal level. Other did worse than last time. Most visible looser is DT while 123RF got only slightly worse. FT continues to build up rising trend but it is still very slow. Big surprise was a sale on MSP. StockXpert and IS keep the same level. Sep Sep/Aug SS 55.12% 121.74% 123RF 11.23% 67.58% StockXpert 7.72% 78.09% MSP 6.94% FT 6.51% 131.69% DT 5.91% 37.38% IS 2.80% 98.25% FP 1.67% CanStockPhoto 1.69% 234.62% BS 0.28% 12.50% CS 0.14% 8.33% Total 100.01%

Both StockXpert and BigStock are going to be phased out into oblivion.

I just wrote about it on my blog. I got two questions: 1. Why I as a blogger need high quality commercial photos for my blog? I am not making any money on my blog so why would I want to pay for images? I can get whatever I want for free under Creative Commons license. 2. How do know that this plug-in exists? Where is a press release? How do I install it? Why do I care about it? What are benefits for blogger? I would rather want a paid banner from Crestock on my site than ability to display watermarked images. http://melastmohican.net/wordpress/2009/09/30/crestock-wordpress-plug-in/

Where is Lightroom, Picasa, Microsoft Photo Info, IExif?

I see, I always got a feeling it could be slightly sharper. Many people have complains that after switching from smaller sensor they feel this way. After calibration they got it sharp as knife ;-)

1(SS) + 3(DT,123,StockXpert) + 2(FT+IS) and the rest. I think this is result of what types of photo I shoot and my laziness in trying to overcome IS upload system. Almost each one 10x more images online than IS. When I feel guilty that I am not trying harder on IS I start uploading and then I loose interest after 3 weeks.

Are they taking out hardware to sell on eBay or really something new is going to be rolled out?

I am not sure if I got "good" or "soft" copy. I was thinking that now with 5Dmk2 I should calibrate it anyway with micro adjustments camera gives me.

This start-up is not exactly targeting microstock but I think it is interesting implementation of upload once/ publish to many idea. " Pixelpipe is a web gateway that allows mobile desktop and server applications to publish once through Pixelpipe and have that content (photo, video, audio, text, file) distributed out to over 100 different social networks, photo/video sites and blogs around the world."

Slow like hell. I got one DL a month with portfolio closing 1.5K images.

Yes, 17-40mm is fantastic for landscapes but not so great as general lens. When I shoot people and forget that I am using 17mm they look funny when they are close to edges of the frame. With small sensor it was more like 30mm so I could not see that ;-)

LR2 and Picasa3 reads both CRW and CR2. Since I switched to Lightroom I do not know how CaptureOne is doing but I guess most of commercial RAW software is updated periodically.

Is FileZilla working with Veer now? Last time I tried it cannot display file listing.

Now shall I sell my current main lens, Canon EF 17-40mm f/4 L USM lens? I got them when I was using EOS 20D and it's great lens. After switching to 5Dmk2 it seems to be a little to wide for my taste. Now these two lens focal lengths overlap and I already carry 4 lens in my backpack.

Can we say that holiday shopping season just got started? I think it actually started when parent of #2 snapped parent of #5. Now #1 takes #6. What should #3 and #4 do, merge? This way Big 6 will be reduced to Big 3 and rest of small players sooner or later will bite the dust. Wait, there is still the "biggest looser" of microstock industry Corbis they can drop big money on something change the balance of forces.

So they did not buy Cutcaster, Crestock or FeaturePics which would be much cheaper than one of big 6. I guess it's not about technology cause BigStock got one of the worse sites they should take CS for that. It's probably not about customers cause they already got more than mentioned sites combined. This leaves with eliminating competition option. BigStock become store front for SS. One thing left is, maybe they want to move it up to premium area so they can have a playground for competing with Getty without harming their core business.

I thought all sites got this? Otherwise they would be like MostPhotos without reviewers. I thought all this reviewing effort is most to protect company from legal problems.

I guess I haven't reached this level of popularity to be found by TinEye or Google. Not even for my best sellers :-) Searching at Google found that my image from Inca Trial was used in some scientific paper in UK ;-)
