Yeah, but... it might have been read before you edited it. Lots of people read posts but don't comment. If you write something and it is read and that person thinks that it isn't worth coming back to and then you edit it to add some brilliant additional text to make it better, or different, those that read it first might not realize you changed it.
Their loss! :(

It seems Google, as the enabler, should really have a warning there, as surely we can also go after google?
...

Do you really think that Google's attorneys would have missed this issue?

On every page when you enlarge an image within the Google Image search there is a disclaimer on the right:
Images may be subject to copyright.

That's about as much of a warning like on the stock sites regarding copyright education. I think this small disclaimer releases Google from any copyright claims.

If you will, you could compare Google to Heroturko and the likes because they don't host the files, they just link to them plus they make you aware that you may not have the rights to these files.
True they let you know they may be copyrighted so then they steal them anyhow so they know or knew about it being copyrighted and completly disregard any of it and play dumb and everyone goes!

Oh well since you didn't know about it i can let it go!

And you wonder why people steal them?

Go figure.

Everyone was taught about copyright in School.

How about doing away with saying a post has been edited until after someone else has posted behind it.

Right now if no one post's after you and you forgot something and go back and fix it it says EDITED.

Why no have it only say EDITED after someone else post's behind it like SS does?

Here's one!

They have also hit me before with the Aesthetics crap and there are already many more already here.

So when I go look to find the excellent quality many more on site already by the one Major Keyword that would be used to search by I find 41 images! Only 41! so where are the already many better?

And if you add the second Keyword to it you only find 17 images.

Bullchit total Bullchit I tell ya.

EDIT:

Big time blown skies and piss poor composition with parts being cut off.

731
Ef her she stole it make her pay for it, it is for this reason why people steal them in the first place because they know they can get away with it and no one will do anything about it!

General Stock Discussion / Re: Attracting more customers myth
« on: September 18, 2012, 05:32 »
For those who are unfamiliar with the retail world here is what "FREE" is for and how "FREE" is supposed to work.

First the retail company advertises the "FREE" product by whatever means it has available to them be it on the internet or in newspaper ads and sales fliers.

It does this in the hopes that it will attract and steal away the customers from other businesses and then they will now have them in what they call "in the door" and once they are "in the door" this is where the company is relying on them to buy some other products they have for sale at regular prices while they are there for the "FREE" product that they are advertising.

Only thing is is that there are people out there who do nothing but look for "FREE" stuff and all they want is what is being advertised for "FREE" and nothing else because this is how they live and what they look for every day so they dont have to spend any of their money on anything.

So the business get a few new customers but others are just there for the "FREE" stuff and wont come back unless something is offered for "FREE" again.

And as Jens has said and i hope everyone knows it is that when you offer any of your images for "FREE" you are giving up your rights to any copyright or copyright protection that you had.

You have now allowed a complete redistribution of your work to anyone anywhere anytime to be reproduced in any manner they wish and you have no say over how it is being used in any way.

Is "FREE" good? NO!

Do you gain anything from "FREE" other then a possible temporary increase in sales? NO!

So then why give away your work? chit if you are going to do that then let me have all of your free files so I can redistribute them in any way I want and make money off of your images in any way I want because you have no say about what I do with them or how I use them and you have given up your copyright to them by giving them away for "FREE".

Out of over 20 million images you only have a few hundred online!

You will need thousands to notice anything unless your images are outrageously unbelievable in which case a few 500 will do you well.

734
i have nearly 1000 shots at dt so in theory i should have around 500 accepted at ss.

Boy is there something wrong here?

That formula is backwards because whatever you have at DT you will have at least 10 times that many at SS because they dont have the Too many similar rejections but it may be less than ten times that now because SS wont take BG's, has copyright rejections on shoes, no longer takes many fractals and then there is always the Duck! ;D

Gauges / dials mean nothing!

There is a certain someone with over 10,000 images that are cheesy and yet there are some people with far less than 1,000 or in some cases less than 500 images that blow the 10,000 away!

So what does it prove other then having bragging rights about how many more you have than someone else?

Funny because Anthony vows for this reviewers and he says he  stands by all rejections.
Yes so he has said.

And this just goes to show that someone and something is wrong?

OK so I took the survey I just dont like to be the first to be in deep chit  :)

I must wait to make sure the waters are safe and let others go before me! :)

Well i probably have more than you! ;D

Nice to really go out on a limb with that prediction.  ;) Yeah, people who started in January 2012 have more images than me.

No excuses, but there are two factors working at this time.

1) Summer, I don't shoot Micro. Fall I watch football. (that's all one) The four images I have submitted since about April have all been refused. Darn I suck at this! Here I thought I had a nice shot, good colors, good subject, marketable idea. "lighting"

2) What I have found interesting and with sales potential, has been blocked and banned. And I don't mean the crappy postage stamp experiment. Stamps don't sell! (before someone asks again) It was an idea, people had asked, some other people had some up there, and I wanted 100 to give them a fair test. The results are in, waste of time. And I was selective, picked transportation and what I thought would be interesting subjects.

On the upside: Editorial is now making a come back after that block for "professional sports" that was active for many months. Maybe in January if I get off my duff. They aren't best sellers but if the goal is "I have ####" images, then I suppose I can upload more.

Thanks to everyone who have been answering, I always wondered what kind of numbers people had live on SS.

I need some IS exclusives to drop in and click, No Not Here.

So is there a separate review process for phone pics?

Phone pics 100% crops are iffy at best in even thinking about getting past a reviewer for the focus being good!

And if there are two standards then that is unfair to all!

And what does the 100% crop look like? Can we see?

And then compare that to your 100% crop from your DSLR!
