why do you need our help quickly?
selling your work yourself is great, except that you don't have a boatload of customers knocking on your door. 730
General Photography Discussion / Re: Web storage service« on: April 14, 2013, 02:00 »Most of the time those unrecognized drives are the controller card, not the drive. You can pull the drive and put it into an external caddy, dock, bay (whatever someone calls it) read everything. Worth the try and then you can use the docking station for an external drive as a backup, so no loss. 1T drives are under $100. I'm sorry, I'm not sure I understood much of that. ![]() but a 1T hard drive is @$100, and i'd need one per year, so $70 for back up that (knock on wood) will never fail is a good deal. 731

remembering of course that this is an American ruling. We are heading into different times now where a global company like FB can impose USA rules of the entire planet (ie, the no 13 year old "law").
Hasn't France tried to rule out street photography too? 732

ditto. but you end up with lots of batches of pics, as some go through and others get flagged, then you just resubmit them again. i always try to include both lots of spelling in my KWs.

well I am in. I got an email inviting me to submit 10 good images, and within 24hr was approved. Now the tricky part: deciding what to put there.

Shutterstock.com / Re: Answer for long reviews« on: April 13, 2013, 17:22 »...the "you spelt "colour" wrong" type messages)Seriously? yep, and I still make a *sigh eye rolling* comment. if you use their KW generator some of those words get flagged too. On the plus side, the number of times they fix a spelling mistake.... it all evens out so can't complain too loudly. 735
Shutterstock.com / Re: Answer for long reviews« on: April 13, 2013, 17:10 »
(last week) i've noticed it's slightly longer, like a day or two, so maybe pushing out to 10 days? but then, all images get reviewed (I tend to end up with lots of batches due to the "you spelt "colour" wrong" type messages), so some that are only a day old got through too.

I've been looking into crashplan, $70 for the year, unlimited storage. I've got a hard drive from 2011 that powers up but can't be recognised, it'll no doubt cost more than that just to have some tech person recover it.
[rant] No doubt USA plans are cheaper, cos we get "the lucky country" premium added to all our costs and services. [/rant] 737

any normal person with common sense could come to this conclusion within 5 minutes. Yet somehow, politicians are unable to show the same level of intelligence? meanwhile, they're drawing a salary....... ugh!

it would be good to know if this is actually true, on any site. you can't possibly know how the search/rating algorithms are written, have you read this info somewhere on the agenices' site? 739

I shudder at "snaps". I often get asked if I have any "snaps" I can give people. I usually reply, somewhat pretentiously, "I don't take snaps".

a touch over long, and I gave up at the laundry comment.... but I get the general idea: very cool in Bloke World. I don't feel the need to spend time hooking up a psx controller to my iMac just to sort photos. Suspect my boy 'tog friends would disagree but I don't really care what beer drinkers think.
![]() But to offer a Female/Wife Response/Public Service Announcement: laundry has many steps: sorting clothes, sorting and putting on loads of washing (+applying pre-wash treatments to disgusting man clothes), hanging washing out, bringing it in, sorting and folding (even ironing), and finally, putting it away. There's a whole room devoted to doing the laundry, as opposed to gaming, so I suggest - in the interest of your future relationships - you give it more respect. ![]() 745

there is an iPhone app I've got that's v similar to your site though, with a very similar name. I use it sometimes (when my bloody network coverage works, thanks for nothing Vodafone), it gives me an idea of what's been done to death already. I can quickly see what angle is popular (shoot it), and then try to find a new or different angle.

I'm afraid I'd suggest losing the whole thing, cos it makes me laugh, and I'm not a 15 year old boy... but still! the "!" is also not used widely, except by teenage girls and rubbish marketing types who think red and yellow are still great colours.
I would also say the capital "p" in "Photos" is making me cringe. Why the random capital? Lots of people do that, and it's just wrong. I'd rather see no capitals at all - much friendlier. "sell and buy photos from all the world" should probably be " ... from all over the world" and that full stop ("period" for US/canadian types) is just ugly there. the "enjoy selling them with gratification" is getting more and more lewd as I read it, lol. (esp if you read the "you do nothing, we do everything" .... um, can you come visit me sometime? ![]() 747
General Stock Discussion / Re: The best WHAT?« on: April 12, 2013, 04:43 »Whenever I see local business using this sort of double-entendre, crude advertising, I make it a point to tell everyone that I know not to use their services. While I have no problem with vulgarity, I feel that it shouldn't be out there for children to see without warning.I have 3 daughters under 12 and while I agree that it's ideal to keep them sheltered from this adult content I can't help but remember that I saw Rocky Horror Picture Show when I was 9. We owned the soundtrack which I sang over and over with my mum and I had no clue what any of it meant. 748

Photo Critique / Re: Not in focus« on: April 12, 2013, 03:53 »Ha, I live 7 miles from the sea and we never get lovely sunrises, it just gets paler grey. We get nice sunsets over Arran, in late October to December, but only if we're lucky!amen to that! it's hard, and lucky: you have to be there at just the right time and then face a ticking countdown to get the shot. Sure, there is some gratification in that... but still, there's also bugs and stuff...
