When Stan arrived in April 2020, SSTK was $32 (after years of 'meandering' between $50 and $30) and a year later it was at $90 another 6 months on and it was at $120. Stan did exactly what Jon wanted him to do...get the stock price up and fast I'm not sure how much you could contribute the raise of the stock to Stan. Almost every technology company went up during those crazy lockdown times.

staffing a department to clean up the database of all the dross they've approved in the last few years, sort out the search so that it doesn't return rubbish

Two of my images with over 1000 downloads at shutterstock, only a few megapixels in size, taken years ago with a poor compact camera and certainly not accepted in terms of quality today, still sell regularly.
I have a few images like this. I even uploaded a better versions of those images, but people still buying a poor quality photos.

This is why only way to approach this is as hobby and enjoy the photography which can be very rewarding in non-materialistic way. Anything else is just bonus

I need to create more images people want to pay for. I know what people want, but still too lazy now I mean I'm still taking those photos, but lazy to upload. May be one cold winter day ... On Shutterstock I don't upload on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Me too

I have found stock photography less interesting in recent months. My uploads have diminished perhaps 15-20 images this month. I'm still taking photos, but just store them on hard drive. How about you?

I agree. I've always said, you are not competing with the whole database - you are only competing with those who share the same keywords as you.
It's interesting to see how many people are missing the correct keywords ...
