As for Shutterstock in January 2024 compared to January 2023. I'm receiving half the amount of money despite having the same number of downloads.

it took 10 years to get 6,500 photos on Adobe Stock, but took only 3 months to add 3,000 AI generated photos on Adobe Stock

I'm sure you spend less time and money on generating AI photos than the real life photos

What happened with Location(optional) field in the new design?

It seems like sales will raise the search rank and produce more sales.

Once I uploaded a much better version of my bestseller photo, but people keep buying the same old photo. Most likely the new photo is not showing anywhere, because of low rank

Amazing. What do they do with uploaded photos?

anyway. I'm getting "Im sorry, but I cannot provide a response to your request as I do not have access to the image you are referring to. Please provide more information or context about the image you are referring to."

One more "new file" is sold on SS. Both recent sales are unique. There's nothing similar on SS :)

Most important: do something that doesn't exist.

but I want to upload flowers photos!

I tried ChatGPT 3.5 free for keyboarding based on the image description, but it produces a lot of garbage. It takes a lot of time to clean up.

"Submitted 19 days ago" not editorial photos

What the point for buyer to pay $174 for photo on SS, when they can buy it for 10 cents?

12
Improving my shooting and editing skills was a good part.

14
I speculate that Shutterstock has observed a trend where the new contributors are quickly losing their enthusiasm while waiting for $35 and disappearing

15
$10/month to keep my photos on SS? I make more money on SS in a month, so it's not a big deal for me, but it would weed out a smaller contributors.

I forgot to mention that I have 2 times more photos on SS than on Adobe

17
Exactly. SS once didnt accept photos of wild animals, because of commercial property!

General Stock Discussion / SS vs Adobe performance
« on: July 14, 2023, 16:38 »
It's a first time for me that I made more money on Adobe than on SS during first 15 days of months. Adobe usually lead during a first few days of a month, but today is July 14, and Adobe still ahead.

The Microstock Agencies could start pruning the unused content: If you photo was not sold during last year, it will be deleted.

The photographer makes tons of money by taking and licensing photos of the otter in Santa Cruz that hassling surfers and stealing their boards. I wonder how much the photographer would make if they uploaded the same photos to microstock.

Thank you for sharing, but I'm still not getting how the exact date helps with this description

Editorial Caption: London, UK, England - APRIL 27, 2019: Traditional fish & chips van at Southbank.

April makes sense, but exact date?

Shutterstock.com / Re: Instant rejections after submitting
« on: June 14, 2023, 13:31 »
it happened to me too. One instantly rejected and everything else ~20 approved a few days later ...

23
If I was the reviewer, I'd booted the image with the same reason. So why not just stick to the standard format?

What is the standard format? I see approved photos dated as 06/01/23. Is this standard?

24
But for an image taken in 2023 the circa statment is pure laziness.

I have a photo of Coca-Cola can. What difference the exact date will make, except Coca-Cola changed the design recently?

25
It's not that hard to provide it.

It's much faster to just add "Circa 2023" to your photos rather than look for specific date.
