I've heard many contributors were banned by Shutterstock last year when they changed the royalty structure. Why were they banned exactly? Did they write bad things about Shutterstock on their forum? Were there another reasons they were banned? If you were banned, let me know what exactly happened.
Who are many contributors that are banned from Shitterstock? Not the forum but contributor account closed. I heard we only gets 10c for downloads why would I care if they ban me from being used and under paid.

With the price of royalties falling from ALL stock sites. Here is a idea that just might make your payments go up. Now before you make fun of me have an open mind to this. I do hope Mat is reading this from Adobe as this would be a first for Adobe and would get them a lot of publicity which might move Adobe Wall Street stock price up. Have an option for payment in Bit Coin. From the stock contributor side what do we have to lose when so many stock sites are paying 10 cents a sell. Yes Bit coin is very volatile but that can also work in your favor. I for one would take the Bit Coin for payment in 2021. if this was 2007 no I would not take it as we all made a lot more money in Stock at that time. Adobe what do you think ?
Why would this make my payments go up? Why would any agency want to do this?

Yes and considering probably 90% of all buyers are small time webbies this and that! well you can imagine millions are having a whale of a time with our freebies!
Considering all the 10c downloads reported, the majority of the buyers are not small time "webbies". Start to pay attention to your sales and see where the cheap subs are coming from. Who pays $199 a month for 750 images? Or who buys the $169 a month 350 packs? Not small websites. I wonder how many images a small website uses and if they buy much of anything now, when they can find CC or Free images.
If not why would they pay $169 for a few images, when they can get 10 images for $29. You did say small websites.
Of course. Shouldn't that be obvious? If you advertise with "get something for free", you will in 99% cases attrackt people who, well, want something for free and nothing else. And I think the remaining 1% might be people who planned to get a subscription anyways and just take the extra 10 free images along. Like, sometimes when I want to purchase something in an online shop, after I have filled my shopping card, I serach the internet for possible discount codes. But I would have bought the stuff anyways.
Come on, what's really the point in trying out a image subsription plan? It's not like with a free trial product where there is actually a point in trying it out, like, let's say a bakery is offering free samples of cake. And you try out the cake and think "Whoa, that's so delicious!", so next time you come to the bakery you might end up buying some. But someone trying out "free images"? What's that person gonna think? "Whoa 10 photos! Who would have thought that photos could look like this?!" You know exactly what you are getting, there is nothing to "try out".
Yes to both parts. (and the bakery) Every day we are all promised free app or something free, like software that doesn't mention some detail like everything has a watermark, or only small sizes are output, or in the fine print, not for commercial use. Some say free and then have a 7 day limit, that we don't see until the terms after installing. But that's still not free photos, just similar in that "FREE" is a standard marketing tool.
As far as others looking at stock photos and my superficial review, every agency has a free trial offer. (I might have missed one that doesn't, most do) SS isn't any different so this isn't an issue. Might be dumb and we can see it's just there for the taking, but @Horizon trying to make it a point for SS attacks is nonsense.
"Whoa 10 photos! Who would have thought that photos could look like this?!" Wait is that good or that bad? Only if they are looking for blurred backgrounds from other folks videos, or maybe clouds or buds. Some of those free trials could drive business away.
Pete! let me tell you I know designers some big ones who download these freebies use them and change them this and that almost beyond recognition and use them for a specific client promotion and this is without paying a penny and it happens all the time and in every country! again and again!....all these special deals are in the end negative because anything free is in ta penny buyers eyes worth more then paying 10c!
After the free 10 what do these designers do for more free again and again. You didn't answer him. Who are these 90% of all buyers who are small webbies and where did you get that number?

My hope, my dream drowned in a deep well. I understand that there is not the slightest possibility of a peaceful solution possible.
Civil War is the only possible solution, seeing the two realities that society lives. There is no human force on this planet that makes both sides see reality.
It is simply impossible. Luck.
This is the civil war you ask for, but you are unhappy because it's not from your side. Peace and sensibility is the answer, not hate or terrorism. False narratives from Trump are no different from the false battle crys from the left. I'm pointing out your hypocrisy. White woman, no gun, gets out of her car and the police shoot her. This is misogamy and racism according to your version of the truth.

Any updates?
I wrote to iStock, but did not get any answer to this,. But they answered another request already. That alone is already interesting.
Very interesting: iStock seems react on my request about promo.com! I wrote them that many contributors proving now a law suit against them, if that is not legal offer all images for free on promo.com. Yesterday I checked again my images there and it seems like all my iStock images disappeared now. That is for me a sign that it was illegal.
I know many other contributors here alos wrote a request to iStock and Getty. Any answeres yet or same experiences like me: images disappeared oon promo.com?
I made a request to iStock the 23th of December to remove my images from PROMO.com. No response from iStock now till now and my images are still available on PROM.com.
I also posted a message on iStock forum. Here is the response of an iStock employee: Question: ... do you have the official 'spin' on this site? How does it benefit us, the content producers? Response: Not a site I was aware of but will ask But no update from iStock on this site till now.
This is illegal I never agreed to give away my pictures for free.

The absolute definition of "paranoid" is: Trump. This dictator called the mobs of his party to come and storm the capitol, where five people lost their life. Therefore he is the killer of those killed while storming the capitol. I hope American Justice will do their duties and call this criminal mind before The Highest Court of America with charges of intentional murder. This insane paranoid must be brought to justice. He Must pay for his criminal acts. America Was a great country BEFORE his administration. He definitely managed to Make America Shorter... to the eyes of the World.-
As instigaters behind the civil disobedience in the streets, Burn, Loot and Murder BLM leaders should be charged as accessories to every crime their group commits. The peaceful demonstration at the capitol turned bad when riot police caused the problem. This was a peaceful occupation until then. They murdered an innocent white woman, who was in our military service by shooting her. She wasn't armed, didn't throw rocks or bottles of burning fuel wasn't harming anybody or looting. She was just a protester. I'm upset that this forum supports racist murder and misogamy. Equal rights for everyone.

This just couldn't be legal on so many different levels.
One of the biggest problems is that these sales through Promo.com don't get reported in your sales report and to make things even worse this site is extremely popular with marketing agencies for obvious reasons.
And even worse I believe this is just one out of many sites who operate like this.
Currently I have a proof that a marketing agency bought couple of my videos through Promo.com and used them for a commercial, none of which I can find in my reports, meaning I got 0% royalty from SS and iStock. I am trying to file a lawsuit at the moment, does anyone know any good lawyers who are familiar with copyright lawsuits? I would greatly appreciate any info
Class action suit.

That email to me looks like a typical phishing email since it redirects to a third party website. I simply deleted it.
Adobe customer service confirmed that there's a problem - I think your suspicions may be unfounded. They've referred me to the tax center as support can't fix this.
A suggestion for Mat Hayward to pass on to whoever at Adobe is managing this: I don't see anywhere in my Contributor Account management interface or the "Manage My Adobe ID" interface to access the 1099 opt-in. For people uncomfortable about responding to emails, having the option on the web site somewhere is a method that's always safe.
Good idea to come from the artist site, on Adobe, not a third party. This is real I got my last year data.

Can you read? https://submit.shutterstock.com/legal/terms?language=en Did you ever read this? Contracts change, they did nothing illegal, you have no class action suit. 18 f Please note that Shutterstock reserves the right to modify these terms at any time in its sole discretion,
And where in the agreement does it state that they will take away 2/3 of your income? Is that your idea of "fair" business practices? And was the agreement the same when contributors signed up 10 years ago? The most prominent statement I recall was the SS stating: "The more you contribute, the more you'll earn"
Microsoft recently agreed to a multi-billion dollar settlement when a class action lawsuit claimed that they overcharged consumers during a certain time period. I don't think it would be difficult to convince the courts that the SS and other stock agencies used unfair and unethical business practices when they stripped away 2/3 of their contributor's income.
And sweetheart, would you do me a favor? If you're going to vent your anger would you mind directing it at those trying to take away your income/livelihood and not at those trying to create a fair playing field?
Who's angry. I asked a couple of questions and link the contract. Now you want to talk of Microstock and unethical, fair play. There's no law on your side. Take it or leave.
Calling you sweetheart, I'd be offended, isn't that a sexist remark attacking you. We all have the same playing field and rules. If you don't like that, go away.

I watched this video yesterday.
https://youtu.be/Dfqp9xD188A
"This video tells you about the outcome what can happen if you disclose your stock photography earnings publicly. Even sharing screenshots or writing about your earning in any post or blog is a violation of Shutterstock terms of service and will get your account banned!"
Has any also experienced account disabling for this reason?
https://forums.submit.shutterstock.com/topic/101281-november-sales/#comments
November Earnings Thread on the SS forum. How many DLs and the total earnings, pages long. No one banned or locked or warned.
I'd be suspicious of the YouTube guy, but I know people here will just decide SS is evil and condemn them.
You're no fun. I'd rather imagine bad intentions or a under handed trick.
