New design and aluminum body
A slight correction : they talk about a new and lighter magnesium alloy chassis (IIRC, the current 5D has an aluminium chassis + magnesium body)

Same trend here : 11.6% so far this month, compared to 4% in August.

No it's not a new feature. As long as you have activated several currencies to your account, a money transfer stays in its currency's balance until you cash-out or you ask for a conversion. If you receive some money in a currency for which you don't have a balance, it's automatically converted to your default currency. You can convert it at any time, so yes, you can wait for the best rate. IIRC, you can convert from any currency balance to any other one, but you can only cash out by converting to your main currency.
[EDIT] And another advantage is that you can keep some money in a foreign currency when you need to buy something abroad, without paying twice for currency exchange.

It seems this beta version doesn't run java apps yet. I tried with the Alamy uploader and with 123RF java uploader, both display the same error message : "Aucun plugin disponible pour afficher ce contenu" = "no available plugin for this type of content"
Otherwise, I like its simple and uncluttered interface, with more real estate for the displayed content.

Don't know for sure what the magazine was talking about, but considering the same paradigm than used in noise reduction programs, or low/high pass filters, I guess that "high frequency images" means images with lots of small details (ie a landscape with lots of trees, leaves, grass,...). A "low frequency image" could be a sky with big white clouds (no fine details).

It seems they are an Alamy distributor for Switzerland. So if you have images on Alamy and have opted-in for Switzerland distribution, you should find them on their site. They became an Alamy distributor quite recently though, which explains why they're not yet in Alamy's distributors list : http://www.alamy.com/stock-photography-distributors.aspI heard about them on Alamy forum, in the "UK distributor" thread, a few weeks ago, but I don't know much more about them.

Anyway, XL or XXL files will still sell for a meager $0.30 royalty on JIU+, instead of $5 or $7.5 on StockXpert. No PPD there. I'll stay opted out, thanks.

Thanks for the link, I was eagerly waiting for Adobe's fix. I ran the script, and LR now seems to export keywords correctly. Now, I still have to find a way to tell LR not to sort keywords alphabetically

You're right about the music, totally off-context. I think I turned the sound off after just a few seconds of watching the video Good luck with your D200 ! (I won't hold any liability in this operation )

Hi Alex,
How often are the new charts updated ? I've had a credit sale today (Aug 7th) that shows on the "old downloaded report" but not in "Daily earnings" or "download stats".

Give Inmagine IRIS a whirl : http://submission.inmagine.com
Good luck
Alex.
You guys don't accept editorial/travel stock, do you?
Same question as LCF's here. I remember having read in the IRIS FAQ : 5. Are editorial images accepted? No, at the current moment we do not accept editorial images (without release). However, there are plans to accept Editorial Images in mid May 2008. Please look out for our IRIS Contributor Newsletter for the announcementDid something change recently ? Anybody has some experience with IRIS sales ?

Wait, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like you have to opt out of subscriptions to opt out of Photos.com. Does that seem odd to anyone else? What's the point of the third-party opt-out if staying in for subscriptions means your work appears on third-party sites anyway?
I guess by "unrelated third party" they mean "outside of JupiterImages". But yes, it does sound weird. Anyway, I'm opted-out of both ! Physical goods for resale, and unlimited print distribution are stil there for 30 cts... [EDIT] Oh, and if I understand their chart correctly, Unlimited Plus doesn't even offer PPD ? Does it mean that even XL and XXL sizes sell for 30cts a piece ?

BTW, does anyone know a way to tell Lightroom NOT to sort keywords alphabetically ? I'm used to put the most important keywords first in the list for sites like Fotolia. I know that Bridge doesn't sort keywords, but I'd like to do as much of my workflow as I can on raw files in LR. Thanks

Just for the NEW "Local adjustment brush" makes the $100 upgrade worth it for me
Ditto. As well as the new gradient tool that can be used as a GND filter. And also the addition of camera profiles, which can be downloaded from http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/DNG_Profiles. They are supposed to simulate each brand's Picture Styles / Picture Control or whatever name. I tried with my 40D's pictures, and all the profiles are not that far from Canon DPP's Picture Styles, except maybe the Portrait style which is too warm. These profiles can also be edited to your taste with Adobe's free editor : http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/DNG_Profiles:Editor. Profiles can be applied to all raw files, not only DNG files, as their name might suggest.

Can LR be used to shoot tethered? Yes it can, though not by itself. You will need a capture sotware to upload photos from your camera to your hard drive. Then, you can setup a "watch folder" in LR so that it automatically detects new pictures added to this folder and imports them into the LR library (it should be "File/auto import" or something similar, I work on a french version of LR). I have a 40D and tried it with EOS Viewer as the capture software, connected to an USB cable, and it works like a charm. Though I'm still looking for a way to make it wireless (without spending big $$ on Canon's Wi-Fi grip). [Edit] Here is a detailed explanation of how it works with Canon's EOS Viewer : http://photoshopnews.com/2006/12/06/tethered-shooting-in-lightroom/It should be possible with Nikon Capture as well, or any other camera brands' softwares, as long as they have a capture feature.

I'm tired of the same old mantra : "we'll sell your pictures for less, it will increase your revenues". DT said that and I lost 25% of my revenues. FT said that and subs sales come more and more often without overall sales volume increase. NO, I don't want to sell EL's for nothing, and NO I don't want to be forced to sell subs on StockXpert, that's not what I signed for when I joigned them. When they introduced subscriptions, I immediately opted-out, and was grateful to StockXpert for letting us decide. If they are so confident that this new deal will be such a great move for us, why don't they let us decide again by letting us opt-in/out ?

The few ones I've seen on IS include the plain footage followed by the alpha channel. So the video file is twice longer than the footage time. The buyer then "selects" the second half of the footage and uses it as an alpha channel in video editing software.

I requested June payout on July 1st, and received it on my paypal account the same day. Hope you'll receive yours soon.
We do hope too, but it may be that after paying you they emptied their coffers.
I wish you were right, but unfortunately (or should I say fortunately) the payout I requested would certainly not make them go bankrupt

Not exactly answering your question, and more for designers/illustrators than photographers, but still about trendy colours : http://www.colourlovers.com/
