huh - two people posting in a row both with 'noodle' in their name (well, almost). Never would have guessed the humble noodle would be so popular a nickname I think all of us have been waiting for 123rf to say "hang on, we got it wrong, sorry about that and lets change it" but all signs point to that not happening. Think it's downhill from here I'm afraid..

They have started to count the view's in 5's So if a clip got 4 view's it still counts as 0 I don't know how often they update the count's
Really? Where did you hear about this? I have one photo there showing 3 views. But all other photos no views, even though sales.

Love how they promise things ("you will immediately go up a level") when they don't even have the systems in place to make it happen yet.
Can't wait to see how long it will take to get those outstanding retro payments. I'm guessing 2013...

Hey wsfurlan, welcome to MSG! You've been in the business for a while already, perhaps some of us will learn a thing or two from you as well

Maybe I didn't word it right. Which sites can you just join, upload and hope for DLs?
I think they are DT, Fotolia and 123RF?
One example of what I am NOT looking for is SS, since you have to submit 10 and get them approved before they can be sold.
Or do all sites require images to be approved before they can be posted to sell?
Thanks.
Mostphotos doesn't do any sort of review of images, see http://www.microstockman.com/mostphotos-review/ - you just need 5mp plus files and they go live for sale right away. But as was said above, you will not make much out of these sorts of sites, SS etc is where you need to be. (just noticed noodle mentioned mostphotos too - never mind me, end of the day and I need to stop staring at this screen!)

"Pond5 grants Licensee a non-exclusive worldwide perpetual right to use, display, modify, publish and create Works for Distribution incorporating Licensed Content in any and all media an unlimited number of times."
Very broad terms... creates a reason to set prices on the high side.
Thanks, I was tempted to sign up, but that basically means you are giving away copyright. They can alter the image and give it away for free to 7 billion people.
As a stand-alone sentence it may seems like very vague language however if you read the entire license (http://www.pond5.com/legal/license), you will see quite a few 3) Restrictions on Use. To avoid misconception as you describe above, there is the (d.) paragraph of Restrictions of Use. Giving away copyright is certainly not the case. Artist always retains the copyright and has the right to take media file offline at any time, without a notice.

Thanks for dropping by and adding your thoughts, it's great to see an agency active in the forums. Do Pond5 have any intention of adding an Extended License option, to allow for some of the restrictions at any point? Also, perhaps setting a usage limit (e.g.: 250,000 like most of the other agencies) would bring the agreement into line with the rest of the industry a little more. Thanks again for your input.

very little happening there. Couple bucks a month. Haven't seen an increase at all, sadly.

They were the first site I ever left, and I have been happy about it ever since. Terrible reviews, and terrible sales.

Those who have reached a new RC level mid-year (such as I have) have not even been compensated for that extra 1% we should be getting for each sale. Its ridiculous, they said they would sort it out, but it's been weeks and supposedly, they first want to fix their site issues before handling our money concerns.
Yep, I reached a new level about 3 weeks after they announced them. Still haven't gotten my extra 1% though. The thread on istock forums is rich with others in the same boat. No news from istockHQ in ages though.

Working? Not at all! It's actually gotten worse! I used to be able to access the stats page after a bunch of attempts, now it doesn't work at all.
How am I meant to know what i've earned!!?? Come on Veer!

I really don't understand why this site under-performs so badly. I had high hopes when SS bought them. It hasn't turned into any real benefits, at least not with my port.

Heaps of subs here too, low RPD. So sad seeing level 3 & 4 files only getting 35 cents.

Been having huge issues with dashboard, its just crazy. Usually if I refresh the page about 15 times it eventually gets there. But come on Veer, this needs to be fixed!!

Review has taken about 5 days in my experience. 100% acceptance rate so far. Now just waiting on a sale...

Also, in the forum itself, the last column on the right - can that be made bigger so we can see the latest topic better? It's very thin compared to before.
Ok, I'll shut up now
Can you explain more? I'm not sure where you mean
It seems to be a little better, but I still find that the important column on the right which contains the most relevant info, is the hardest to read and most squeezed. I have a screen grab of what I mean. The red area seems to be wasted space? Perhaps the boards title (the orange titles) should determine the size of this space instead, with the black text underneath wrapping to fit. Then we could have a much larger right hand column (blue square in screen grab) to see the latest threads title, who's talking etc...
Hope that make some sense! Just my 2cents...

thanks for the screenshot. I see what you mean. I'll see what I can do
Cheers, thanks Just to add to your workload, has anyone else mentioned that the new site is sluggish on iPhone 3GS? Links in particular. It usually takes around 5 seconds to register a click. This never used to happen before the upgrade. Promise, that's my last complaint

The last few Sunday's have been noticeably better for me, too. It would fit in with an increased marketing drive in Asia, where a lot of places have a Friday-Saturday weekend.
Huh, didn't know that they had a different weekend structure to us. Interesting!

So... if my pics are already up on P5 via 123rf. I send P5 info to cancel 123rf becuse i will upload my pics myself, in order to get the better commish (1/2). do i then realy have to upload all my pics? Im thinking they are there already, why do i need to upload again?
They won't actually be there. Through the magic of API's the will be dragging in content from 123RF, rather than actually having your content stored the same way that they would if you uploaded it directly.

Anyone else noticing that Sundays (USA / Mondays for Australia) are selling really well lately? Some sundays are on par with my slower weekdays lately. Have seen this for last few months. Eg: this sunday had the same number of sales as Friday. This is a great trend if it continues.
You guys finding the same?
