we can let it drift into the hardening of steel.
Thats an interesting topic.

It gives me shivers, when I see how "swordsmen" in movies mistreat their swords. They are likely to put the tip into flames and they always sort of stick the sword into the ground.
How stupid is that?

No wonder that they have to sit and sharpen it for several days before they go to war.
Then there is air cooling, water cooling, heat treating, galvanizing all to get the correct temper for the use of the material you are working with.

Dont forget about the Fence!

And you can also have that Ham on toast with egg, pickles, fried onions, lettuce, tomato, mushrooms, green peppers, some bacon and salt and pepper{:o)
Read what Lisa wrote, she's right.

American is not any American cheese it's that process cheese (which by the way, is not part plastic, it's just water added) Not that I have any interest in processed cheese, but that's what it is. And Swiss cheese is "white stuff with holes in it" LOL Not any cheese that comes from Switzerland. Don't take it so litterally and it makes more sense.

Did that help?

Add sauerkraut and horseradish (that's for the reminder tab62) put it on toasted rye and anyone for a Pork Rubin?

    rye bread
    mayonnaise or Thousand Island dressing
    corned beef
    sauerkraut
    Swiss cheese  ::)

Can't believe it. Ham Sandwich, it goes with Flange, and Hummers on the side... obviously.

Have to agree that Swiss would be good as the dairy part of the meal.
Give me a break! WOE do you mean by 'Swiss' - the field is wide open - or does this refer to the American usage? "Swiss cheese is a generic name for several related varieties of cheese which resemble the Swiss Emmental." (Wikipedia)
I've never heard it as a generic over here.

What do you mean by 'American'? American is a generic name for the peoples of North, Central and South America as well as the Caribbean Ocean.
That's what I meant  ;)

nothing new this bug has been around many times before.

Seriously? I don't mean the "my new approved pictures just don't show up" bug, which has been going for ages, where eventually they finally appear in your port after a few days or weeks.

These images DO show up right away, there are place holders for them in your portfolio - it's that the actual thumbnail is broken. And the large item preview too.

Pretty sure this is new?

Either way though, this needs fixing - and quick.
No i and many others have been affected by this before.

So what now i need credentials to shoot the Christmas Parade ?  ;D

I doubt it.  Well, unless of course Coldplay is performing during the parade.
That must depend on the country. In the UK, if the parade is on a public street, it doesn't matter if it's Coldplay, Her Maj or Zaphod Beeblebrox, their picture can be taken and sold editorially.
The micros won't accept them because how can their inspectors know for sure where a pic was taken from and the rules are presumably different elsewhere. Also they seem to guarantee their images to be 'safe'.
There are other options. Alamy springs to mind; but plenty more, no doubt. Alamy places responsibility onto the buyer, provided "Pictures have been taken from a legal location". (or have permission, obviously).

True, News is News or Editorial is Editorial. Freedom of speech... There are NO legal restrictions based on professional groups or requirements for having credentials.

Has anyone ever mentioned that the actual laws regulating photos and their Editorial use vs the rules the agency makes up are not the same thing? ???   ::)
You think the sites care?

You know better then that!

They make their own rules and we have to abide by them.

yes RUX, you weld cast iron by glowing it, so the heat does not float away from the place you weld.
That means red hot.
Dam Jens your good!

Have I got a dodgy link here? I thought I was on the microstock photography forum but everyone seems to be talking about welding.

Things like this are not a simple matter of unauthorized use of an image. It is misrepresentation, or false pretenses if you like, which is a felony, which is obviously criminal. Besides misrepresentation, some instances are also theft, which is obviously also a felony, we should make print screens and file police reports and inform every other authority that likes to know.

Companies like this get take down notices all the time and are used to it. It doesn't solve anything and we should take it one step further.

I doubt it.  Well, unless of course Coldplay is performing during the parade.  I think the intent of their policy is more about trademarked, mainstream events.  I shoot a ton of concerts..an unhealthy amount really.  The one thing in common no matter how diverse the acts is that the fans will have their phones and point and shoot cameras up in the air during the entire performance.  I see this requirement as a way of assuring that those aren't the shots that end up for sale.  It's a bit inconvenient but at the end of the day it's pretty minor.
Yeah and when I was going to concerts you couldn't get any kind of camera near the front doors.

And after watching a recent concert yes all you see are cell phones everywhere.

Being an Auto tech i know welding but never went to School for it, I was Schooled hand's on by the man who taught me Automotive repair.

And learned the hard way.

The first one at the time was what was called "Stick" and there is a reason behind the name other than it is done with a welding stick.

Then one day many many years later there was this thing called MIG and how sweet it was.

TIG i haven't done yet but will one day.

And i also worked with a welder who worked for the largest ship building company on the east coast that did it all like you are describing including underwater welding and he taught me some tricks.

Did you know that you can weld a cast iron engine block? there is a way to do it properly.

And he told me something about welds.

He said he had seen picture perfect welds that couldn't stand up to the Xray test and had seen some of the worst welds ever that would pass the Xray test every time.

Good luck and enjoy.

Just remember to wear the helmet and you will get a sunburn and the gasses it puts off will get you high.

I have posted the link before and you can try it on a free trial basis for 30 days.

Get the highest quality enlargements
Enlarge any image up to 1000%
Crop and resize images to any print size in one step
Maintain the sharpness and detail of your original

Pm me for the link if you want to try it or read about it.

I caught hell from others the last time i posted the link because anyone can use it with PS and any image can be increased in size.

seriously? why is Nikon building 36MP and Hasselblad 200MP sensors? why are gossip magazine covers with celebraties full of noise and cranked pixels? why aren't we uploading 100MP pictures?

why dont you tell the link in here? its your secret science project?
i shoot with an 18MP camera and SS will upsize some of my files as a tiff to over 60MP!

No no secret anyone can find and use it if they know how to find it and know how to use the web to find it or just PM me and i will give it to you!

Other people got highly pissed off at me for posting the link because anyone myself included could by a small file over on FT (for example) and then upsize it and sell it as POD's.

Small size with watermark and low rez so it cannot be blown up without pixelation.
Any image can be upsized without any loss of detail whatsoever they have software that does just that and can take a 500x500 image up to easily a 25MP image that is perfect.

773
But Rux, you fail to recognize, that their upload procedure is a brilliant piece of work.
We contributers, want to think that the agencies appreaciate our pictures.
The agencies on  the other hand, have a message to tell us.
And that is, that they do not care about us, and they want us to do all the work, and they show us that every time we upload a file.
Like they say: "Lets see how an annoying process you can deal with".

So Rux, take it for what it is: a user interface, with a purpose.
To humiliate us, to keep those contributers who let themselves become humiliated.
Ha! LOL  ;D

Istock - They are a joke.
In what way/s in particular?
Uploading and preferring exclusives over others.

775
FT - Allows POD's and have cheap EL's

Yaymicro - No sales period

AYCS - Also no sales period not even on the ones for order

Photodune - Waiting for next response from support on uploading procedure! Why compress an already compressed JPEG? And they say my titles have a # sign in them which they dont but the album does because they are all cataloged by catalog #!

Istock - They are a joke.
