If you put the IPTC data in on the jpg, it reads fine on shutterstock. Not sure about the rest. Will be investigating upload procedures/requirements this week.

I, too, am trying my hand at vectors (seems to be going around!) and wanted a bit of feedback on my first attempts... Here they are!

I have been having problems with ftp to them lately. It signs me in then keeps signing me back out of the ftp program so the images are only partly uploaded. That could be why your files are "corrupted."

I would love to be a part of any new project that Peter starts. StockXpert still makes more than BigStock, 123, Canstock or Crestock for me. I would like to see a credit-based system only, as well.

Quote around 1000$ ( Alien Bees or similar). I do not think it is too much You have to realize that not all of us (like me) are making a full-time living from photography. For us, $1,000 may be A LOT of money. I think that it's better to have something to use now, even if it's not top-of-the-line. 845
General Stock Discussion / Re: opinions on lights« on: January 24, 2010, 10:00 »
I had also bought a pair of those exact same slaves. If you're only shooting objects, they will be fine. Other than that, the recycle time is just too slow.

General Stock Discussion / Re: opinions on lights« on: January 23, 2010, 19:40 »
I started with continuous lights and eventually moved to strobes. I use them not just for people, but for object/food shots as well. Even if the only advantage is a cooler working environment, it's worth it to me!

General Stock Discussion / Re: opinions on lights« on: January 23, 2010, 18:52 »
I've bought quite a few strobes from ebay sellers and haven't had a problem yet. For even less money than you're talking about, you could get 2 of these 180ws strobes, these light stands, and these umbrellas for a total of $188.55 shipped.

Canon / Re: What CF Card for a 5D Mark II?« on: January 23, 2010, 15:59 »Whatever you decide do not buy Lexar they didn't work in my 5D Mk2 (and a lot of other Canon models apparently), I use Sandisk and have never had a problem. Found this on the write speed test site listed earlier in the thread... Note: It's a quirk of the 5D Mark II that after secure erasing, some older Lexar cards must first be formatted in the computer before they can then be formatted and used in the camera. 849
