personally I think having a photo of the model taken on my phone while she's standing in front of me shows more consent than a signed form and my good pics of her. I shot some fashion stuff last year and didn't get a mr, what's to stop me from faking it (apart from ethics of course:) ) but the digital release makes you take a pic of the model during the signing process.

I've used top model, still waiting to see if it will be accepted

what an amazing week! thanks for posting this. I've spent the last 3 days at home pretty much watching back to back sessions, thanks to the rebroadcast.

DeviantArt is probably my first go to place, and most stuff is free. Good luck making money, it's even worse than stock.

if you're making actions you may have more luck building up a following through facebook groups. there's a couple of v successful pages that's full of soccer mums buying actions and starting their own portraiture businesses :( but frankly, the effort involved in that surely negates the income?

*as always, sorry to my soccer mum friends

On my side it is apprx:
DT 1
SS 15
actually DT still tops my "# of uploads" but SS tops my earnings.
happy too.

What does your DT portfolio comprise of Vannphoto? Because my sales mirror JPSDK's. SS outsold DT by a margin of 25 to 1 in February. I'm mainly unique subject matter and landscape.

um, i'm a mix of people, food and things... I work as a photographer so I tend to shoot stock as part of whatever assignment i'm on. when I'm not working I will do a set up and shoot it, but apart from the xmas break (lots of beachy stuff in my port now) that hasn't happened in a while.

*sigh*

shall we predict Pond5 overtakes them in the near future?

I wonder if the other stuff is older?  Maybe they've changed their rules slightly?
I've got images up within the same agency, half rejected for needing pty release, the other half ok. *shrug* I don't fight it unless I believe my image has best seller potential.

« on: March 03, 2013, 20:11 »
Thanks for your answers. I've also done some research and it seems as LR can do the most adjustments I need to do with my RAW/JPEG files. But as you say in your answers LR can't do everything Elements does. But in my case I think LR are going to be enough for my needs so I go for LR. And afterall I still have Elements if I wish to do someting LR can't do.

How it's going to be with ACR when I import my RAWs to LR i have not figured out yet. When I use Elements the ACR opens automatic, but with LR perhaps ACR not is necessary?

Any risk for uploading problems (Filezilla) when I change to LR? I dont think so as the files still are on my HD (LR just handles them).
LR replaces Bridge and ACR, you dont need it for LR as it has its own RAW file handler.
LR is an alternative to Bridge & ACR, not a replacement. Just sayin' :)

I do wish they'd change their email that states I "already have several similar images". To me several means 6+, not 2, which is usually as far as you can push it.

SS BME
iS should be good, although suspect yes, there may be some backlash against deactivations?
everyone one else below average

oh the food shots!
with - OMG -
*shadows
*contrasty blackness
*uneven vignettes
* cool colour temps
*grunge boho overtones

love it! and yes, wish they'd hint that this was their style.
Looks like Frankie or Peppermint (Australia) magazines.

? no post processing? ha. so many have a lomo/vintage feel to them, love love love the look they're after.

Nice to see it looking real, as opposed to those overly bright images with impossibly good looking Nordic families.

categories should be optional.

apart from very generic: christmas, easter, valentine, wedding, finance, health.... even then, i've seen many, many abusers of those categories (sandals on the beach = christmas?? sure, i'm an aussie but even so... just ridiculous)

Thanks for the feedback guys I do most of stuff I do for art purposes so I am looking for a way to finance my addiction ...

cos the women are rolling their eyes.

I like enough the indexing mode of Fotolia. Their categories are well structured and complete.

??? eh? their categories are the absolute WORST. I guess I should shoot only stuff that fits their categories, if I were to be shooting for FT as a top tier.

and no doubt in the iS forums there'll be a bunch of people saying "thank you" for whatever news comes next. I don't get those people, why are they thanking Lobo for saying NOTHING?!

Stocksy announced they will go live on the 25th of March. Big splash or little puff of smoke?
regardless (of my, unlikely, acceptance) I think : big!

true. and I don't understand why they reject the whole image, why not just delete those keywords?
