I think it has something to do with these new Public Sets. I have been selling things that haven't had any action for a very long time . . . . . but are now part of Sets.
I only put my sets up yesterday. My BDe was the day before that.

SS - slow at the beginning of nov. but the last two days were fantastic with consistant EL's and big SOD's.....biggest disappointment is FT this month( my 2nd earner ).
Same here __ sales at SS have been going ballistic for the last couple of days, particularly those chunky SOD's. I think I am currently having my BDE there and there's still quite a few hours to go too!
Me three. Lots of Single sales and OD. It does make me wonder what would happen if you just turned off sub sales. And before anyone yells at me... It's just a random musing or curiosity and not a suggestion.
Yes but maybe we should be cautious with three day euphoria? according to some, maybe its a glitch or a bug? but SS is definetely doing something weird with their sort-order and on a day to day basis it seems.
I've learnt to always be cautious lately where stock is concerned and just enjoy the good days while we get them.

When they get back Mini-Me is going to write down all the names in his naughty book
... assuming that Mini-Me is still employed there.
Do you know something that we don't or is it just wishful thinking??

Your all laughing your way to the bank while the bank is going to take away my house if I don't make more sales
Don't dispair. It will be your turn again soon.

There must be a temporary surge in micro. All four, SS, IS, DT and FT, are doing extremely well. If this keeps up we will laugh all the way to the bank.
It looks like it will be the best month this year for me on all the big 4 but November always has been a good month for me for dls.

No one at HQ seems to gave a rat's *rse about the problems and two more contributor-facing employees have left silently.
I knew that Andrew has gone but who else left?
MachaelJay, apparently, has left the Berlin office.
OK thanks. I didn't know that. It's like a whole era is over!!

Don't know if it's a coincidence or not but for the last 3 days that SS has been so good the sales have virtually stopped at Bigstock.

Yep! last three days in particular, brillant! but I am dubvious, they are * around with the sort and we all know what that can lead to.
Yes it's been 3 days for me now. I have made as much in the last 3 days as I usually do in 8 or 9 days.

Please forgive me if this is a simple procedure but I need some advice on resubmitting to Shutterstock.
I recently disagreed with a reviewer's reasons for rejecting an image and asked SS to look at the image and provide a second opinion. They wrote back and told me to include a remark/quote from the administrator.
When you resubmit, do you have to start from scratch? Can you not use the rejected image in the "rejected" category?
Where do you place the administrator's remark? Do you cut and paste it into the "description/title/caption"?
Sorry if I sound clueless but your help would be appreciated.
You have to resubmit from stratch and when you click to send your image after doing catagories and keywords you will see a box that is for any notes for the reviewer. Write the explanation there.

I don't understand why people worry about this. If a flag isn't justified nothing will happen so what's the problem? I get flagged regularly mostly by buyers and it is nearly always using the main keywords of the image so obviously done in error.
I have, on occasion, dropped a polite email back asking what the flagger perceives the problem to be. I am usually glad I chose to be polite, as the response is usually from a buyer who says they were attempting to DL the image and clicked on a wrong button.
Exactly I have heard of people writing rude replies without knowing if it is a buyer who could take offense and not buy their images again.

Hi again, all! Hi, Anika!
I don't think he said he went from 800 to 6800 in 2 years. He's in microstock for 6 years now, and after 6 years, he has 6800 files in microstock (not particularly on Istock). I started in 2006 too, with a fulltime job as a secretary, and now I have between 3900 (Istock) and 6300 (Bigstock) on micro. So yes, it's super-possible. I'm fulltime since January, but my port did not grow more than usual the last 10 months. I thought it would, but it didn't because my commissioned work grew faster than expected.
Good to know and thanks for the info! It's not a problem of bad or good intentions. I would be really interested to know how much do you earn now? Actually we have to see if this direction of microstock is a good one or a successful one, at least for some of us.
So, if you can please tell how much can you earn, it would be useful. I really don't think it's possible to earn 8000 and work full-time somewhere else in the same time. Maybe I am wrong. Am I?
Thanks and have a good day!
I believe it is possible. I have never earnt 8000 in a month but with what I have earnt with my small port I think that is definitley possible to earn that with a large port.

I'm also having one of my BDsE there today thanks to a whole load of SODs. I was looking out to see if anybody else had a lot of them today as it is so unusual.

I don't get why people that are stealing and lying come to a site like this to complain. What does he think he will achieve by it? Convincing us that he is telling the truth wouldn't get him anywhere anyway.

Seems microstock is following a similar trajectory for some of us. As recently as 2010 I still felt like I had won the lottery. Now it is so disheartening to see the income dwindling, despite efforts to keep it up.
Exactly how I feel. I used to feel that I was having money thrown at me and was always amazed how much I earnt compared to how much effort I put into it but now that it has gone down and I'm working a bit harder it seems more as it should be but still disheartening after going through the golden years.

Maybe they are feeling guilty about how late they were last month. Oh no can't be that I forgot they haven't got a conscience!!!!

83% is much higher than 71% in my eye especially with the high standards that GL has...
g Yes it's higher but I think that the difference between 40 and 1000 is way too extreme. Getting about 1 in 10 more photos than you accepted allows me 960 more uploads a day!!!!!!
I have a 90% acceptance rate but only get to upload 40 a day - not that I'd need 1000 slots, I'm not even using the 40 right now.
that means they are picking up numbers for us, don't have much to do with AR
Just checked again and I definitely get 1000 a day. Maybe it's because virtually all my refusals are for doubles because of uploading images twice. Other than that I only have a handful of refusals.

I've got 83% mostly for doubles as I kept uploading things twice when the ftp took so long and I can upload a 1000 a day. Seems rather a large difference between 40 and 1000 just for a slightly higher acceptance rate!!

How many you get is how many you should expect nothing more nothing less.
Was going to post the exact same answer..
My answer to the OP's question is "How many you get is how many you should expect"
I win..
No I win, I wrote it first

I never upload a whole session at once. I keep them all in a folder and then each time I upload I upload a couple as different as possible from each of my last few sessions. Takes longer to get them online but I have never had a similar rejection yet.

How does/will Roger Mexico's departure affect me?
I don't suppose that it will as somebody else will take his place but just sad to see him go for some of us that used to be very involved in IS.
