It looks like Getty disconnected them from subscription sites. In the letter they sent to contributors they encourage them to submit images to IStock:
"As we phase out Stockxpert images on Photos.com and JIUnlimited, the plan is to introduce images to Photos.com and JIUnlimited from the iStockphoto collection.
As you may already know, iStockphoto is the industry leader in microstock. If you are not yet a contributor to iStockphoto, we would encourage you to apply, and start building your iStockphoto collection. It is a great opportunity for you to increase your earnings and visibility, while engaging in one of the world.s largest and most dynamic creative communities. iStockphoto provides a wealth of information and ideas for you to grow from."
What next, folding out their collection into IStock?

I was thinking about Cactus V2s instead of experimenting with different optical slaves. On the other hand I already have ST-E2 would not be nice to use it as transmitter. I think it should trigger optical slave and my 580EX at the same time. If not then I have to connect PC cable to radio trigger I guess. Cactus transmitter have hot shoe and PC connector.

I do not understand why people are taking it so personal? I kind of started it when I pointed out that he is doing generated images and it's different. I also did not feel insulted when he said that we are just wussies here. We all come here to went when we are upset about agencies. For a newbie it may seem like constant ranting and complaining. I can see that.

I just got Vivitar 285HV. Nice flash, seems to be much higher quality than cheap Bower flash I returned same day it was delivered. Now I want to trigger it remotely. I got two optical slaves:
1. Wein Peanut PN. I tried with PC cable supplied with flash and directly and it does not seem like it works. It can fire flash randomly but most of the time is dead. I guess it has something to do with connector which does feel very tight when inserted directly into flash port.
2. Seagull SYK-4. Its actually hot shoe adapter with optical slave. It works much better than first one, at least when in direct line of sight. It triggers when flash is in hot shoe and connected thru PC cable. I did not make many tests to tell if its 100% reliable.

I got TwitterFox and it's just one tiny icon in status bar. When I want to see this messages I can click on it. Can you make it optional here?

So now we can finally give up our hopes for any sales :-)

Is there any definition or standard what is stock material? It cannot be only fake studio shots of business situations ;-)

No photos, yes. Do you think this makes any different?
Maybe be different. First of all people are ranting about high rejections. I guess they got almost all subjects covered so they can reject for any slight imperfections in photograph. With CGI, it should not have so many technical problems. In addition there is probably less generated imaginary so it should sell better. It's simple more demand less supply ;-)

OK CGI - computer generated images - I was not actually sure what it is. For sure not photographs :-)

After reading this thread i'm nearby to be shamed of, but, I started last month to upload at StockXpert, every image takes just hours to be reviewed, 99% been accepted and i sold a lot in the last three weeks. I'm more than happy about this try. And, the reason I tried this was just because there are so much "bad" news about StockXpert I supposed to read PR related threads. So i would like to find out an myself.
StockXpert is life, have the fastest review i ever saw and sells fantastic! If i take the average of my pictures with the income...they will get my bestseller in a while.
regards Bertold
Maybe cause you are selling vectors not photographs???

I was not transferred from SV but I used same images from my SV application and there was no problem with acceptation on Veer. No people, just nature and landscapes.

There are many new sites I am giving a credit of hope but... When shall I stop? After having 500, 1000, more images uploaded and 0 or few views. I am not talking about sales even. I usually stop uploading for some time, then resume after couple months. I am giving them same images that are downloaded on most of top 6. They must not have enough customers to generate any traffic or they only sell images from most famous contributors.

Can I turn it off? I am already on Twitter. It takes to much screen real estate.

If you are asking you are probably beginner. Get cheapest DSLR in store (can be used) and start learning. After a while you would know what you need.

They seem to function like real company not a garage one-person company wannabies. I am having conversation with customer support and usually they respond quickly. This is third time I got problem, first two were handled very fast.

Does it mean that new uploads (not SV transfers) are not indexed? Is this the reason why they will not appear in searches until end of July?

Every time new one pops up I am asking myself did I learn from previous mistakes?
If you have to ask, yes I signed up :-)

It was discussed here before. Everybody shall stop contributing to all agencies and put images in one place where it's priced right. It's not going to happen. We will to take down 1000lb gorilla at once. Agencies can survive without some of the contributors while these people might have businesses around selling photos and they will go down if they do not sell for a while. I believe in gradual transition. Let's say that at first we put our "best" shots in our system only and give scraps to agencies. If it takes off we can lower "other contributions" until everything new goes to our system.

This should be contributors individual decision if he/she keeps uploading same files to other agencies it's not a fault of the API, it's bad strategy. Some people already differentiate, do not upload to subscription sites or upload only smaller files there. It's strategy too.

I think we have to agree on completely open model or maybe we can establish lower limits but then who is going to say what is too low?
If API is successful I think we will have large number of contibuting sites and one or few rogue contributors will have no affect on prices. Think about it as if was a stock exchange :-)
