Thank you for your reply. It used to be that data was easy to find as it was clearly stated on the stock sites, today it is difficult to find. Of course then making an estimate of really active authors becomes even more difficult especially as you say because of the thousands of authors who have appeared with AI. But I find your estimate probably quite realistic.

Just out of curiosity, how many authors are there on adobestock?

My weekly ranking went up a bit after the $5 Free images accepted.
Do you only create photographs or also illustrations and vectors? Either way, it's quite an achievement these days.
Photos only. Thanks
Thanks for your answer.

In the age of AI, cameras in Chinese streets can recognise thousands of people per second, and SS has no software that can tell that an IDENTICAL image has already been uploaded to the database? As already mentioned several times, the original image is often recommended under the stolen image... It means that not only is there no automatic control but also no manual control.

Complicated and very hypothetical...besides, the buyer is unaware of the problem, why involve him?

Agencies will close thief accounts if they are reported, but otherwise do little to prevent fraud because there is nothing in it for them. They get 85% (or whatever) regardless if asset has been downloaded from original creator port or stolen port. As simple as that.
OK, but they are knowingly selling stolen material, legally are they not worried?

Just to update the post, the fraudulent accounts discovered so far number more than 2,000, and we are only talking about photos for the time being, illustrations and videos have not been considered. The problem is huge, remember that every image that is stolen and sold takes money away from you. If you find any of your images in fraudulent accounts ALWAYS report them to Shutterstock.

I would also consider using Pictorem as well as (or instead of) FAA. They have free shipping to the USA and Canada, have a much easier and faster upload process and I have found them to be very helpful. I did a review of them back in 2022:
https://backyardsilver.com/pictorem-a-place-to-sell-your-art/
And I recently compared their underlying costs of various sizes of prints against FAA costs that showed that they were often cheaper for similar sized prints. Gives you a bit more opportunity to increase your margins perhaps!

Steve
Do you have any suggestions on how to set the cost of commissions? I would neither like to be too low and lose profits nor too high and not sell at all.

A big thanks to the efforts of Antonio Gravante who had more than 500 accounts of stolen images removed from Shutterstock, great work! You can see in the initial link the progress of his work, in red the accounts removed and unfortunately the increasing number of fraudulent accounts discovered.

Good morning, I wanted to share with you a document showing almost 1,000 fake shutterstock accounts where stolen photos and images are resold. The problem unfortunately does not only concern Shutterstock but also other sites, which is why I preferred to post in the general forum. Currently, an Italian photographer named Antonio Gravante is conducting a tough search for the fake accounts and has managed to shut down many dozens of them by contacting Shutterstock directly. Unfortunately, the process is long and complicated. He seems to have much better luck with Adobe, which is much less complicated and more responsive. As you can see in the document (continuously updated), the links in red are those currently closed, while those in blue are still active. I recommend that you check the presence of your images and in case report the problem further to Shutterstock. The reality is that many thousands of stolen images are regularly sold, depriving the real authors of their earnings. I hope you find this report helpful. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1N1oYYhfCVKP4llm7aC7GSeWjjs4DFhLcb3QWAT2kcXw/edit

I will try to send the images as editorial, they don't have any visible logo anyway. It makes no sense that the same images have been accepted as both editorial and commercial on Adobestock.

I recently uploaded several images of buildings in the city of Tokyo and I received several rejections for intellectual property. I don't understand if the images should be sent as editorials because in this specific case I had both the Tokyo Tower and the Tokyo International Forum as my subject. Both subjects are present in the Adobestock database with hundreds of images, both commercially and editorially licensed. Why can't I send images with subjects already for sale on Adobestock?

Warning, SS contributor "axeeali47" is selling some of my images after slightly editing them, I guess he stole other images from other authors. Already reported to SS awaiting their response.

1. I'm in, the project looks interesting. 2. I agree with the previous proposals, $ 1 per image if purchased in a group and $ 5 per single. 3. RF

Sales have dropped a lot and moreover they now reject me almost every image I send.

nothing yet... contributor of fotolia for 11 years and subscriber to adobe products ...
Did you do this? I'm sure that Mat will be able to check for you.
To qualify you need to one of the first 20,000 contributors to have 300 files approved or have $500 in earnings since January 1, 2018 with a 50% or higher approval ratio to receive a CCP member.
I just re-posted the easy part in case someone is new or hasn't noticed before.
The CCP software is exactly one year, to the date you register, free cloud storage lasts longer. It includes PS, LR, LR Classic, Bridge CC, a trial of Premier Rush video - (three free trial), Portfolio, Spark, Behance (I have no clue what they are or do) and XD CC "Adobe Experience Design CC, or Adobe XD, is a lightweight vector graphics editor and prototyping tool"
Thanks Adobe
Thanks Pete, I think I'm qualified, I'm sapphire ranking on fotolia.

I met the qualifications before the email went out, but haven't received anything. Does it matter if my current cc subscription is under a different account than my stock account?
Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
No, that doesn't matter. The code will be emailed to the address associated with your Adobe Stock Contributor account.

i think i qualify but not code, just email from adobe stock who advertise their reward.
I also received several emails from adobe but still no code and no 'emails in spam folder...
