Pond5 / Re: Pond5: What should we improve?

Indeed, Upload process is painful.

I quite like Fotolia's Indexing option. Mix that with 123RF's submitting system too. It was made quite clear in a previous thread, no Categories!!

They changed the layout but nothing else?  :o What about a nice submitting system like Fotolia or 123RF. Come on Dreamstime

Dreamstimes process is painful.

They seriously need a bulk editing option. With some minor changes, I find Fotolia and 123rf easy to submit to.

iStock - Deepmeta

Filezille, Cyberduck or Transmit - FTP the rest

I am assuming they are online already.

If they have not been submitted yet. Just go to  - My Files - Indexing - there you will be able to bulk edit or delete.

#11
Is disabling the files not the same as deleting? (I think that can only be done once they are accepted though)

I wonder how Red bull is selling today!

Thanks to NASA for providing us with these wonderful images. These images are created by NASA but you are allowed to use them in your commercial projects. PeopleImages has digitally restored and cleaned each of these images manually and spent hundreds of hours fixing scanning lines, sensor dust and noise problems. Enjoy!

Credit where it's due, they seem to be available for free

Very true. Well done.
Next question, who is our new member ProImage who has so much insider info into peopleimages.com's activities?

haha I found this image on the site http://peopleimages.com/image/blue-planet-nasa-space-outer-space

The rest is just the image description I copied.

In case you looking for more reasons ;D

Fotolia - Slow site, Strange Rejection system, Vague reasons for rejections

Dreamstime - CSV upload is extremely annoying, Cannot bulk edit
#17
ha ha indeed or vaguer ;D
#18
Such a strange system. Why can't they just place the rejection reason next to the image. They make the effort to put a giant red dot there and a "info" button which tells me - the last thing I would like to know.

Off Topic / Virus on mac?
July 19, 2012, 21:18
I've seen an increasingly amount of articles about mac computers all of a sudden being subject to threats from hackers, etc. This is just one of many I've read: http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/04/06/widespread-computer-virus-indicates-mac-users-no-longer-safe/
I know a lot of photographers and designers use mac, and I was wondering if any of you have actually experienced this first-hand? I always thought that you couldn't really install anything on mac unless providing an administrator's password, so the installation of a virus should not be possible. However, I recently installed a new browser (RockMelt), and I was not asked for a password during the installation process. I have no idea why or how.

I've looked into possible anti virus software like http://www.intego.com/virusbarrier and other similar things, but I don't want to waste my money, and I definitely do not want a computer that is slowing down too much either.

So... Has anyone experienced getting a virus on their mac? And is their anyone who has first-hand knowledge of some of the various anti-vira mac software?

Agreed, he knows the paths he could have taken.

Great marketing

http://arcurs.com/2012/06/retouching-more-than-2000-files-in-24-hours/ - Video

Retouching more than 2,000 files in 24 hours!

If you read my blog post on the hectic launch of PeopleImages.com you will definitely find this video interesting. Just a few days before the scheduled launch date, I realized something terrible: I had promised the entire world a site with at least 70,000 images from my collection, but we only had around 68,000 files online. Imagine launching a site with a massive headline on the landing page saying "70,000 royalty free images" and the users then proceeding to the search page and find that they are currently viewing "1-50 of 68,325 images". Not good at all!

We only had a one day, but it had to be done. So we created a 24 hour challenge at our studio in Cape Town!

I am still amazed by the fact that 24 retouchers took up the challenge and worked for 24h+ to help make the promise come true, and I am grateful to each and every one of them. It is amazing working with people who take so much pride in their job and who are willing to go that extra mile it sometimes takes to get to the finish line.

When we saw the sun in the horizon the next morning, we had the necessary 70,000 images, and although we were all completely exhausted, it was so great to see everyone with huge smiles on their faces. The team finished more than 2,000 images during those 24 hours, and some of the fastest retouchers on the team got through as many as 250 images without compromising the quality of their work. (Passed Quality Control!)

Thanks to all those who took part in this great, tiresome, awesome, funny and amazing challenge. You can now find some of those 2,000 images here on PeopleImages.com. :)
