What about paying us contributors a monthly fee for the rights to advertise our images so we don't have to worry about you finding buyers.

And then, pay contributors an extra bonus similar to the current commission structure for each and every sale these images bring in.

Plot twist: Josephine was probably hired on Fiverr and paid 10 cents by SS to write this post

I see 2 options at this point, either go with Wirestock to get better commission on SS, or go istock exclusive...

" there is currently a deep waiting list of interested artists"
Is there a difference between a 'deep list' and a 'long list'?

A deep list is for people who are digging their own grave.

I'd like to see an integration of AS videos with Adobe Portfolio  ::)

I believe there is an agreement with iStock/Getty

That's probably why they've stopped reporting sales daily, it's easier to correct a mistake once a month than every day.

I have received someone else's statement. What a bunch of loooosers!

Wow, now it really is 100% a lottery! Hope I get someone good.

Fair enough. I'd rather not have my best sellers listed on page 1 tho as it makes it easier for copycats and thieves, maybe the most viewed would be a better option as it doesn't necessarily mean they're being downloaded.

Well, at least it's working and looking good and it was done smoothly overnight. The layout of the page looks clean and professional, unlike AS massive banner and 2 featured collections taking up all the space doubled with a potpourri of photos and videos all mixed up.

Also, customers have access to our personal website which can be nice for bespoke work.

Same issue here, looks like it's under attack

Old topic but still. I wanna share my opinion of BB. I was there for one year and uploaded over 6k clips. What bothers me is the lack of statistics. No info which agency accepted the clips and which clip was denied and for what reason. Even more frustrating is when I got a sale I don't know where that clip was sold. The only redeeming part of BB is easy to use interface and time saving since you do only one clip for several agencies. But all in all it is not worth it. Another thing I can speak about is their FB group. It's like a dictatorship in it's most hyper state, nothing negative can be said, only praise for Bb is allowed and is immediately deleted. Every post you'll see there is only positive, most of the time ass kissing to the founder of BB, which is silly in itself. You can't suggest anything for the to fix nor can you call them out when they aren't transparent. That worries me. I exactly know how many videos I have and where they are. And the result is quite surprising: Adobe took almost all, except editorial (as they don't accept that), Pond5 accepted all clips, Shutterstock half of clips (even though the number is rising as they accept even 6 months old clips) and finally Vimeostock accepted only 1500. Don't know why. So bottom line is: now I'm on my own and I think it's better this way.

Have you been banned? I thought there was an 18 months files deletion waiting time.

If we can rule out AI doing the reviewing (which I have no idea), then perhaps the really fast review time could be due to them having a lot of inspectors in 3rd world countries who are paid by each review. So they just sit by the computer waiting for images to hit the review queue. I've read that is how it works on Amazon's Mechanical Turk.
Thats what I think. Its quite hard to get a balance between no available reviewers and submissions which can result in either very short or very long queues. Though I am a sceptic about AI in the end I don't think we have any real evidence either way. I don't actually care if its AI or humans or even chimpanzees so long as it works ;-)

As long as chimpanzees are paid minimum wage...

Uploaded a batch of 10 videos... all rejected for bogus noise reason

Re-uploaded and submitted one by one after each inspection... all accepted

Yes, I've seen this also, when you have multiple images selected and click save.. some images get random metadata. I'm always submitting them one by one now.

I don't have any concrete example to report, but here's what I remember if this helps to address the issue.

When you upload images and go to the upload page, you click on 1 thumbnail and it loads the AI and IPTC. However, if you upload images and then select them all without clicking on each of them individually first in order to load the AI and IPTC, then change the category for all selected images and click save, some random metadata appears on some files.

Very nice report!  ;D And a stupid question... can you sell prints of editorial images on FAA? Or do you just upload commercial stuff in there?
There is no inspection there, so it's 100% up to you to keep on the right side of the Law in your country, or wherever you took the pics.

Thanks Sue & Steve & Trek, I have come across editorial photos on print, so I thought maybe I'm missing something or the rules are different than micro.

Been a couple of months with them, no luck so far. I'll keep praying to the Lord of Sales and remain hopeful.

Had an interesting rejection at Adobe recently whilst the shot was already accepted at SS. Grounds were copyright infringement on a coin with QEII head.....so I thought 'what the........?'

Turns out that Adobe were right (sort of) because when I checked with the SS disallowed list I saw that British coins are OK but coins of China, Macao and Hong Kong are not and this is an old HK dollar coin (pre-1997 when HK was still a UK Crown Colony). Silly me, I put HK dollar coin in the keywords and description.
Dunno whether the copyright claim by China is recent (in which case they can't really claim copyright on a coin made by the Brits?) but the coin is still legal tender apparently. Unusual to find SS accepting something that Adobe rejects.

QEII is probably the only person in the world that managed to copyright herself, so any image or representation of her isn't allowed for commercial use  :-X

I can't upload via filezilla to DP. Just with web uploader   ::)

Same here

Just a thought, since the price is the same for PU and Presentation/Newsletters, the buyers might get the wrong license for these.

'Use in a presentation/talk (eg,Powerpoint and Keynote) or in an editorial newsletter.'

About average over here.

My favourite sale in oct'19 was $0.0006, the customer payed $0.00441 - its a kind of magic, when you can buy an image for <1cent ;-)

Actually 15% of 0.00441 is 0.0006615, so iStock even stole 0.0000015 from you  ::)

Yep, time to delete...

Only Shutterstock, Adobe Stock, Pond5, VimeoStock and Pixta have decent prices for video. If you contribute to other places, you're basically shooting yourself in the foot, because footage buyers do shop around, and agencies do price match to your lowest price.  ::)

Decrease is very noticeable, something happened in June and never recovered...

Same here, dead since June with crumbs here and there.
