Shutterstock.com / Re: rejects for Lens dust - marks on sensor« on: May 29, 2018, 16:25 »Sensor dust is not going to show as white so you may be missing something the editor is seeing....? Or, the editor is way off base. Always view at 100% and yes i think the editors are way off base not only that when they make these mistakes they them tend to reject the rest off the batch. 9

Shutterstock.com / can't find my own content« on: April 13, 2017, 01:43 »
I recently had a photo accepted by SS, I think it's a good one and have hopes for it. Today I did what I sometimes do and went on Shutterstock without logging in as me to check it's there however it does not appear on any search later photos on the same subject do but not my best photo.
if it does not appear in searches how will it ever sell Should I delete and reload 14
Shutterstock.com / Re: I make about 20 cents per photo per month on SS. Is it average?« on: February 19, 2017, 03:31 »
my average is conciderably less than that so i would say you are doing very well. I have just over a thousand on line about 45% of which have never sold a all and 50% of my income coming from about 5% of my portfolio.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Quitting iStock and best alternatives« on: January 17, 2017, 14:08 »
SS and Fotolia are both good I sell better on these than IS. Also the keyword tools on SS allow you to upload a lot quicker.

I had a couple of 23 cent sales , I queried it with Fotolia saying my minimum should be 27 cent , I got a reply saying the sales in question were in fact credit sales and not subscription sales.

Photo Critique / Re: Another Newbie looking for feedback« on: January 03, 2017, 12:43 »
If you are getting images rejected by SS for not being sharp enough try making them a bit smaller and re-submit this has worked for me. As for subject matter travel photographs do sell but not that well.

General Stock Discussion / Re: starting the new year by dropping a couple of losers« on: January 02, 2017, 11:56 »
300 images on stock sites is really not enough to expect any sort of income I have 960 and get about 100 downloads per month from SS, Dreamstime comes and goes i'll get nothing for 3 weeks and sell 5 in 3 days I stop uploading to DT a couple of months ago.
The search protocol on SS favors newer content so it is important to upload on a regular basis I operate a system holding back images so I always have something new on my favorite subjects this helps the existing images keep selling. SS represent about 60% of my MS income I also do quite well on IS and Fotolia. 25
General Stock Discussion / Re: starting the new year by dropping a couple of losers« on: January 01, 2017, 13:13 »I haven't submitted anything to microstock in a long time and will probably never do so again. With about 300 old images online, my expectations are pretty low these days. But I'm thinking about starting the new year by cleaning house.
