Had issues uploading to Shutterstock yesterday using Firefox. Worked well with Safari.

I've sent a request to DP to enlighten me about this issue as well. No matter if we agreed to the price system of DP, if this accounting reveals to be true it's an unfair and unethically Deal (You can call me naive, I dont'care). I'm definetely not interested to sell my work with a share of around 1 % or even below.

Ich bin bei fotograf.de und kann die durchaus empfehlen. Ich hatte zwischen zenfolio.com und fotograf.de geschwankt und beides getestet. Der Service ist wirklich sehr gut + kompetent bei fotograf.de, man bekommt schnell Hilfe, wenns mal klemmt (und das auf deutsch, was ein schlagendes Argument ist). Die Software ist eigentlich ganz gut zu verstehen und meist selbsterklärend. Man kann bequem eigene Preisprofile anlegen und für Auftragsarbeiten gibt es QR Tagging, was echt genial ist. Man kann auch zwischen den einzelnen Preisprofilen problemlos wechseln und ist nicht ewig an ein Vertragsmodell gebunden...

What gets accepted is a question most of us are figuring out at the moment. There are a lot of rejections - on some themes more than on others. I made recently a little serie for Stocksy that I considered "highly artistic" (LOL). All got rejected for beeing "too staged". That's life. They are looking for natural images, whatever that means. Real people doing real things (in terms of people shots). No "toothy smiles" towards the camera of people that look like being dressed in a costume ...

shudderstok: you are true in saying GI and IS are not the nicest agencies to submit to in terms of warm fuzzy feelings.



I'm not talking about warm fuzzy feelings, I'm talking about respect and professionalism. Solving IT problems immediately. That is professionalism in my opinion.

You will be sure able to post a small collection of pictures you want to apply with somewhere in the web if you don't have a business website. There are services around ... but wait, you made clear that you don't want to apply.
To answer your question, nothing from me is "official", I'm just a contributor. I will surely not post here internal information about clients, sorry.
My guess on why they maybe did not answer all applications timely is that it's still a very small team and when Stocksy got public the interest was overwhelming ... just my 2 cents.
You asked about this other agencies that are requesting portfolio links? Well, imagesource, Getty, stockfood for example - just to name some of them.
Just to give you an impression about earnings: In July I made half of what I made on IS (after the respectful royalty cut for Indies) on Stocksy (Stocksy ca 250 files, IS ca 2500). Good development IMHO for a young agency.

LOL. @ shudderstok, talking about arrogance: I was somehow tired of the way being treated as a contributor from Getty/IS. And I don't feel "harvested" at all. I would most likely be still a happy IS exclusive if the company was still respectful with their people (and all the existing problems with the site would be resolved in a timly manner). The "cliques" arguement is in my opinion very applicable to IS/Getty today. There are more than enough "all are equal - but some are more" decisions being made by IS/Getty management. I have no idea what you're talking about with this referral to existing stock sites for a Stocksy application. You were being asked to provide a link to your work (as most of us have someting like this today) and this is totally professional. All other agencies I apllied to are doing this, too - also macro agencies.
@ rene you asked a valid question and I guess a lot of people are also interested in the financial aspect of Stocksy. As there is so much negativity around here I was also hesitating to post something. (Sometimes I can't get rid of the impression that at least two members are being paid for making opinions around here).

The latest changements seems to be her merit. Sad that these things does't get announced somewhere on IS - but not surprising anyway ...
Sad also that there are desperate moves being made by the management like the hiring of the BCC, new management instead of simply listening to contributors and making business with heart, mind and ethics instead of blind actionism.

Maybe I'm one of the "happy clappy ones", but I love Stocksy´s Design and approach. The sense of "unity" is something that's gone for too long at IS. And this has got power IMO which was never valued at IS lately. For all those criticicing everything about the new site right now, please remind they´re online since just 2 months...
I hope it will succeed - and if it does it may also have hopefully influence on other agencies who have increasingly maximised their own profit on the back of the suppliers - not only in microstock. We as Photographers do not have a Lobby or Unity to protect our work and give us a fairer share - but we should have. Now someone comes along with a good and fair concept like Bruce did, I personally think this deserves at least some respect if you prefer not to belong to the happy clappies... I do not mean to be offending, just my 2 cents

Thank you davidgoh - I'm one of the lucky photographers on Stocksy and I'm totally in love with the site as well. So many great talents with stunning work. It's sometimes depressing ...

+ many of us went exclusive some years ago (me:2006) when there was believe in the company IS and we were treated rather fair.
Now that so many things went wrong it has certainly felt for some time now like an abusive relationship with golden handcuffs. The decision to go independent is inevitable - i think for all.
It was a good ride for some years, also in terms of money.

Maybe it worked shutting them up, but we dont know how many will pack up and leave. Only when we know that number, we know if sacking Sean really worked.

Speaking for me - I've handed in my crown on Monday. Booting Sean was one of the reasons I've given them for this action (besides plenty of others). I know at least two other Diamdond contibutors that have done the same this week. There may be more ... I wished more people would have spoken up loudly when it was time to do so but seeing what happened to Sean you can't blame them. Some folks are still happy with their revenue and I guess they have somehow given up with the "unpleasant" issues that they cannot change.

Left a comment + signed the petition.

Together with yesterday I have 43 files deactivated as a sign of support.

Have got 20 files deactivated today for a warm up. Tomorrow some more.

They aren't negotiating with us - they might be listening, but I tink the policies about future deals could be there now - they've had a couple of weeks to come up with that if they were so inclined. They couldn't even throw us a bone with a list of the images included or the planned final total.

That's true, unfortunately. Why did they not at least give us the lightboxes with the affected files? The takedown of kga's google search site went pretty quick compared to all other actions we are waiting for.
