So submitted two photos of Lake Louise, same shutter speed, aperture, iso, focal length. Taken a few seconds apart and from slightly different angles. One photo gets approved and one gets rejected because of noise. Uh. I get it if both photos are rejected, prefer both are approved. But what gives with the review process?

Sorry rant over.

General Stock Discussion / Asset Removed
October 08, 2019, 22:43
Just checking my images on iStock to find that my most viewed and sold image has been removed. No notification what so ever.

Anybody else had this issue before? I have sent an email and waiting for a response.

That's great news, thank you Matt and Adobe

Think I may have introduced the '9 seconds per image' comment...

Mindstorm, Had a quick look at your web site, great photos, lots and lots of travel. Now the one country that you missing is my home town of New Zealand (Middle Earth), got to add NZ to your bucket list. Fantastic scenery, amazing people, unique wildlife, vineyards to die for and a warm generous welcome for all visitors (unless you are the England cricket team).. get down there.

Hi Mindstorm, do you fancy sharing a link to your blog? We have been travelling for 4+ years now and very interested to see what you have been up to.

Now I know you are offering a guide, but 15 minutes to title 100 photos, seems very quick, 9 seconds per photo. Going to guess that you do batch titling and some minor adjustments to differentiate certain photos

Thanks

Newbie Discussion / Alamy Payments

Just woken up this and got super excited to find a couple of photos sold on Alamy for $300, then I realised that Alamy shows the full purchase price before they remove 60%, doh... Well at least it's still 40%...but then I read the part that says buyers can take between 45 - 90 days to pay WHAT!!!!

In your experience how many customers don't pay and cancel the purchase on Alamy?

Newbie Discussion / How much time?
July 31, 2019, 07:51
Hi everybody, as a newbie in these parts I was wondering how long does it take you to title and keyword and then submit.

Let's say 10 images across three options
1. 10 very different images, different subjects etc.
2. 10 photos of similar subjects but slightly different
3. 10 photos of the same subject just different angles

Then submit to the likes of SS, Adobe, iStock.

I feel it's taking me far to long to do option a, maybe 2 hours once I've got the photos looking the way I want them which itself can take a couple of hours.

Thanks

How do I do that when there is no indication of what is wrong with the file? File in question is 5ca5f11a0bae911704a2f664

Thanks, Dmitry, the images have been uploaded to the agency and when i manually change to submitted the status doesn't change
#14
Hi Dmitry, I am trying to change the status of some photos that are showing as 'File not ready' for Shutterstock. I'm changing the status to submitted and it changes in my list of agencies but when I log out and back in it's showing as 'File not ready' image example would be item 5ca5f11a0bae911704a2f664

Thanks

I've just spent bloody hours adding super tags, locations, categories etc.. to find that most of the changes have not been saved by the web site. Thanks Alamy

Hi Gavin, sounds like a wonderful project. Be very interested innfollwiing your progress.

The solution you have of browsing portfolios and then contacted individuals directly sounds a win win for everybody apart from the agency. As a newbie it's clear to me that agencies are not concerned about contributors so we have to work with the opportunities that present them selves.

Small but growing portfolio and would be keen to work with you. Also happy to try and shoot to order if you have gaps in your requirements.

Hi Marthamarks, do you believe that iMovie is an ok starting point for a newbie? All I do is trim any movies down to 10 seconds, lose the audio and maybe a slight colour balance check, then export in 1080p.. What would Final Cut or Premiere offer that iMovie can't for very simple edits

General Stock Discussion / Rejections...
June 09, 2019, 17:26
Fairly new to MicroStock, if I had hair I would be pulling it out at the various rejections and the inconsistency from the various agencies.

The latest was an editorial photo of a misspelt sign in Cambodia. Food stall selling crabs had a handwritten sign with the price and the word "Crap'

Rejected by SS for poor grammar in the image. Yes, I did put in the description that the sign was misspelt, doh

General Stock Discussion / Urgent Review
June 05, 2019, 15:22
Hi everybody, is there a way to editorial content reviewed urgently. I'm hoping to shoot some news worthy images and want to get them uploaded and accepted while the news or event is still fresh.
I'm posting to the normal suspects SS, DT, iStock etc.

Thanks

Hi Mat, as a Creative Cloud user and Adobe Stock contributor this is a great offer. Is there anything we need to do to qualify once we have met the 300 submissions or $500 of earnings threshold?

Thanks
The giveaway was last year, but hopefully they will do the same this year.

Doh what a muppet, from now on I will read the dates of the post..hopefully it gave you all a chuckle, if so, I'm glad to be of service  ;)

Hi everybody, fairly new to microstock. Is there a model release from any of the top 10 agencies (based on earnings rating) that are accepted across all agencies? Don't want to get releases signed and find that for example the Shutterstock release is not accepted by Adobe.

Look forward to your feedback

Have a similar issue, photos show as submitted on MS+ but have been sitting in pending on the 123rf site for 10 days now. I have just emailed 123rf to see if they have an issue.

Thanks, Steve very useful.

Uncle Pete you mentioned about embedding the title of the photo, how do you go about doing that? When you export from LR do you use a title as a custom file name?

Thanks
