if you are a canon user then you need capture one. tethered allows you to shoot and see the image right away, then you can make adjustments on the capture one program to fine tune and reshoot. such as checking focus, just change it in the software and reshoot with a keystroke. Use it for catalog shooting all the time, highly recommend it. I have also tethered pentax and it is not the same. it just allows you to see the image (not a very big view) and all the file info on your monitor. you can not make adjustments on the software side. that is why you do not hear much about it. just as quick to pull the card and upload to the pc/mac

i have 34 images there for a test, thirty images either "ed tip" or "recomendation" and no rejection of any images

i do not even get views, a few have one view, a few have 4 views but most have no views. My portfolio has been up for four months

I use capture one from phase one to tether my canon, it allows you to shoot the product, check it on the monitor, make camera setting changes and shoot again from the software. The only reason to touch the camera is to focus and crop. It is a great product but full functionality is only on a canon camera. To tether for the pentax K10D and k20D you have to use pentax software and all it does is to allow you to see the image and the settings. The image is in a small window so it is nothing to write home about.

I like the fact that IS predicted to make $200 million and the payout is about $91 million to the contributors, sales last year (2008) have been reported to be $150 million so IStock is looking to add another $50 million in 2009. I think they are planning on making that $50 million from the lower commision fees that they will pay to the contributors

  Good question..... i will continue to upload until they tell me to take my ball and go home. The upload process is easy enough where it does not require a lot of time.

It appears the ship is going down and getty was the driver, i do not believe that they can close the doors and not pay contributors what is owed. Maybe they can do that for people who buy a subscription. All the uncertainty about StockXpert has got to be a problem for people who are thinking about joining or for buyers. Why would you buy a year subscription for a thousand dollars only for the place to close down in 4 months. Buyers do not care where they get their images but they do care about losing money for a product or subscription they have paid for. If this is not what Getty wants then why have we not heard them telling everyone not to worry or please do not leave we are on your side. Instead all i hear from them is silence. It is even hard to get any support or an admin to respond to a simple question.

have not used those, but have used smaller versions of a softbox on some nikon sb-24 flash and they work great for easy mobile shoots. Helped to spread the light out more evenly instead of having to bounce the flash.

Same thing here, i forgot to remove the stockxpert from the top, which was fine i removed it and re-uploaded it and they refused it again because they wanted more info on the witness and photographer. I created a new model release with the info they wanted and DT was fine with it but the funny thing is i have other photos using the same release that they have accepted

i am not running with the big dogs so subscriptions have not hurt me at all. I am just a little dog in this big yard of photography.

I can see clockwise and anti clockwise. It appears that the loop of the flash has a change in direction every some many minutes to confuse everyone into thinking one way or another.

bottom line is a good set of strobes is the better way to go.

rip-stop nylon (can be purchased at joann fabrics) works really well and can take the heat from the lights for a diffusser panel. I believe it would take about 10 500 watt halegon lights to equal enough lighting for the standard 5000k so you should always get the 500w unless you are going to use the 250w a for backgrounds. You can get some good shots with about 4 500w if you have a fast lens and a nice air conditioner to keep the room from getting too hot

all of these are great for backgrounds, you need to keep your options open for each shot. Be creative and have fun.
