no.

I just tried to open offline,Premiere Pro,Media Encoder and Photoshop and I was not asked for any online verification.

Thanks for checking, appreciate it.
Yeah, sounds like it might just be a bug on my end then. Feels like my system is begging for a clean reinstall at this point....

Just wondering if anyone else is seeing this: since about a week or so ago, any Adobe app I use (Photoshop, After Effects, etc.) asks me to connect to the internet for verification every single time I open it. That wasnt the case before it used to ask maybe every 23 months, and that was fine.

Has something changed on Adobe's end recently?
Im not too happy with my workstation needing to ping Adobe servers constantly just to launch software.
Anyone else noticing this?

Thank you! That was helpful and thanks to it I found some of mine as well and in other ones  showing as "similars" too. Its a rabbit hole but whoever want to check and report them too so they take down these - here is one more account :

This type of dumpster fire shenanigans makes me even more committed to put more of my images on Alamy as exclusive RM, especially the more premium ones.

Exactly. Macrostock and RM are the way forward in this madness where contributors work gets no respect anymore and Im definitely going to double down on that now.

I would say the best solution for you is to do your work on a laptop instead of a desktop.

I wish to. I shifted to desktop due to major issue which happened with my high end gaming laptop which was 5 years old and the company denied the repair. Everything came to an end as my data was lost and I was only able to recover ~30%. I since then shifter to desktop where the parts are easily replacable and I don't have to depend with just one company. Having said that, I agree to your point of being portable and I miss the laptop.

You can get the laptop, but Id also suggest thinking about remote access to your desktop. That way, all your files and settings can stay where they are, and you just connect to it from the second place. There are some apps for that like AnyDesk, Chrome Remote Desktop, etc. and it should work well as long as youve got decent internet speed at both spots.

Another (easier) option is to just bump up your Google Drive storage and use it as a shared folder for the files youre actively working on. That way, you can keep most stuff on your desktop, and only sync what you need on the go.

For this reason I will have to get the main computer turned on always for access right?

Also, do we get any portable hdd or network hdd where I can install the software and all I need to do is plug and play on any machine I want.. do we have any solution to it?
Just to mention, I tried with expernal hdd and they gets heated easily.

Yes, you will need to have your main comp always on 24/7. I used TeamViewer when I needed something similar. They had a free option and a paid one, not sure how it is now. Either way, no matter what app you use you will need to install it on both location and connect it. This does not need a network hdd but if you think you need extra space to be shareable between both locations then you can do so. If your question is if you can install it by having it on a flash drive or etc, that should not be a problem as long as you have the right permissions set up.

Anything purchased from a stock agency is only allowed to be commercialized in an end product only and with higher priced licence. Here that is not the case.

At this point, theyve basically been fired by their contributors, their clients, and even their investors. Theres nowhere left to hide - not even behind Gettys back with this new merger.

And all this because of the wrong people at the top, with that classic get rich in one day attitude. Someone should write a book about them - it would be a bestseller for sure. Title idea: "How to Destroy Your Company in 3 Easy Steps."

If I remember correctly, the Motionarray agency was created by ordinary stockers. And in a few years, this agency began to bring in good income. Stockers need to create another agency like this.

We need an Union. Till then we can only guess which agency is next to bring us the "exiting news".

Does anyone sell photos on this site? How is the income?

They sent to the contributors a Happy New Year cut on 01.01.2025. Its the second cut in 3 years. The first one was when the new owners took over. We had a zoom call with the new owners then and they assured us that everything will be as before......well not really. After they took over they started calculating the earnings differently so it resulted in 30-50% down. Now on February 15 we will see what is the damage this time. In fact there is a nice discussion on reddit and linkedin that can shed light to your question. You can see part of that zoom call and what they say :)

I honestly prefer for people to say the microstock it's dead, at least that will not encourage new people to adventure on this field, more chances for the rest of us.

No, stock is not dead. As long as people can see, there will always be demand for visual advertising.

And Competition is a good thing - it pushes you out of your comfort zone and forces you to improve.

I do wonder, the top experienced producers reporting low sales, wether it is on ss or elsewhere, have you been uploading regularly?

Because we all know our job is not really passive income.

If we dont feed the beast, our income drops like a stone.

I was down to less than 10 dollars a month on Adobe, now I am back to several hundred and sometimes in the 1200-1600 range.

I still need to activate the other agencies. But considering that Adobe is now taking 7 million files a weekmy sales are not affected, it just keeps rising as long as I send in useful stuff.

On other agencies you dont even compete with ai.

Sowhile ss clearly has a downtrendhow much of that is due to lack of uploads?

eta

these are how my stats developped only for adobe in the last 3 years

feed the beast again, money comes your way

I hope I can do this on other agencies as well

I've been on Shutterstock for quite a long time, and aside from the obvious mistreatment of contributors/customers, my personal observation is that no matter how much money they make off the hard work of contributors, if they dont create an environment where even the smallest contributor feels their effort is rewarded, theyre bound to collapse sooner or later. In Shutterstocks case, it took a few years for the cracks to become visible, largely because they were inflating their stock value despite an increasingly dire situation - acquiring anything they could to keep up appearances.

I dont have access to their financials, nor am I invested in them to worry about it, but something definitely seems off. Theres no single explanation for why, for example, with around 400 videos/animations on Envato, I made 10 times more in January than I did on Shutterstock - despite having those same assets (plus many more, including photos and illustrations) on Shutterstock. And unlike Shutterstock, my earnings on Envato have been constant and steadily growing. I never would have expected that to be the case.

Now, the real question is: how long until they ruin Envato the way they did with Pond5?

I am not Chinese, but China is a country that has existed for millennia, long before many other nations even came into being. That alone suggests a depth of wisdom accumulated over time. As a society, they place great value on tradition, heritage, and education.

As for your statement: 'China finances all the world's terrorists, supports genocide, created COVID-19 as a weapon of mass destruction, and supplies fentanyl-based drugs to the EU and the US to kill millions of people of mobilization age' - that is a highly questionable claim to accept at face value. Neither I nor anyone outside the highest levels of government can ever fully know the absolute truth, so I will not engage in a discussion based on speculation.

The U.S. struggles to accept that it is no longer the leader in tech development. That has been the case for a while, but what is happening now can only be called 'fair'a return to the people, to society. Whether they needed six, seven, or more milions doesnt really matter. What matters is that many people who previously lacked access to such technologies will now have it, helping to build and evolve society as a whole, rather than serving only a select few, their deep-pocketed investors, and their high-return expectations within days.

Don't get me wrongI have been to China on multiple occasions, so I understand that its largely about data control. But in the end, it's a battle of giants. What matters most to me is that ordinary people will have the opportunity to use this technology and create something meaningful.

Since DeepSeek is almost free (offering most of its products in a nonprofit-like manner), OpenAI and similar companies should accept this - just as 'those who now cry out loud' once defended themselves when questioned about how they trained their models.

US and EU tech stocks plummet. $1 trillion crash.
So, has anyone used this Chinese model for writing tags? Is it better than chat gpt or not?

I tried it. For tags and metadata in general I am not impressed - o1 is way better. For images again - there are many that are way better. For code - its the best I tried so far.

Today I got money for using my video for training artificial intelligence.

I got the generous $17 for 1100 + (videos & 3d animations) but no explanation whatsoever.
For such a small amount of videos, I think this is a normal amount. Well, as for this stock.
And what explanations do you need, they have everything written in the help. If you participate in the program, then you get money in January. You can refuse.

Small portfolio or not, the payouts here arent even comparable to what Ive made per clip on Adobe. Pixta hasnt been performing for years, so no surprises there.

For AI training payouts, a note or email would be a nice touch.

Considering Open AI's announcement that we will be close to achieving Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) in 2025 and AI agents will be working on a human mental level (compare statements from Microsoft's CEO, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, etc.), it is likely that Adobe will replace all human reviewers with AI agents and start controlling the flood of AI-generated images. Artificial images labeled as "real" will be easily detected and all images with generative errors will be automatically rejected.

This feels like more big talk aimed at investors than a realistic assessment of where we actually are. Were still waiting for basic things like the winds to slow down so we can fight fires effectively. We cant predict exactly where a seismic event will strike, and even our weather forecasts struggle to stay accurate beyond three days.

To say were on the edge of AGI waking itself up by 2025 is a huge leap. Sure, the idea is exciting, but the reality is were nowhere near solving even the foundational issues required to get there. Lets be honestthis kind of claim is more about hype than substance right now.

You can report that to Shutterstock. However to see less of this we need to wait for Getty to clean Shutterstock house. Hopefully from top to bottom.

Interesting take on the Getty/Shutterstock news from the Millwaukee Independent

https://www.milwaukeeindependent.com/explainers/big-photo-getty-images-shutterstock-merge-3-7b-deal-form-new-visual-content-powerhouse/

So customers feel their situation was sidelined by the happy-talk from the two CEOs at yesterday's conference call:

"Representatives of Shutterstock have begun to offer reassurances to its subscribers, specifically telling the Milwaukee Independent that in the near term, nothing would change in how Shutterstock customers license images, videos, and other media. A company spokesperson also explained that there would be no immediate impact on how Shutterstock subscribers sourced, purchased, or managed content.

The merger is expected to offer customers more options to license content, as a benefit from the combined libraries. But despite belated efforts to reassure existing clients, the manner in which Getty Images and Shutterstock unveiled their deal has left some uneasy.

In many creative and editorial circles, the announcement sparked initial concern from businesses that rely on Shutterstock images. The fear is that the more expensive and stricter licensing by Getty Images would dictate massive changes.

Such apprehension was magnified by what critics say was an overly celebratory tone from the merging corporations by highlighting the revenue from their stocks, yet offering minimal public-facing information about the benefits to their customers.

Both companies put all their energy into celebrating the new massive value and stock revenue windfall, while completely omitting any message or information to their extensive customer base, said a consultant for a small nonprofit that relies heavily on stock photography via Reddit. That only escalates the fear that policies and pricing structures could shift with little warning. Its left people feeling anxious about how the transformation might jeopardize budgets or access to content.

https://www.fastcompany.com/91256130/getty-images-shutterstock-merge-3-7-billion-deal

The above article mentions competition from genAI images; both CEOs dismissed any impact on their licensing from genAI in the Q&A section of yesterday's conference call. Either they were just spouting the party line, or possibly that isn't really a major factor in deciding to merge?

"The merger comes at a time when companies that use still images are facing increased competition from images generated by artificial intelligence. The companies said Tuesday that they have complementary portfolios and that a merger will provide customers with a broader array still imagery, video, music, 3D, and other media."

There's a lot of overlap in the collections.

This looks more like a take over than the presented "merger". Basically Shutterstock brings itself, Turbosquid, Pond5 and Envato on the Getty's plate.
