Yep and the photo in the tweet for free can be sold by twitter or facebook for good money towards a newspaper, tv station or news blog. Read the Conditions of FB and twitter and we all know where the money will be going

@Ron,
I agree with you to a certain point and that is Proper Explaination of each individual failure by the one who caused the mess. 6

Taxes, I grew up with and get used to ( though not really, more of a kind). It is more the ' how' and 'how long' it took to calculate without a guarantee it won't happen again. And where does iS need an CEO for? Where is he?

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Is anyone getting PP sales for last month yet?« on: January 27, 2014, 18:14 »
There is money in the bank for dec pp sales probably Getty360. Though my nov pp sales were increased by 0.75 USD without notification without anything. Scary!!!!!!. Don't even know where the money is coming from PP, getty, getty360 or iS direct sales. Could even be Santa, though Getty has not the name.... not even close.

General Stock Discussion / Re: When does common sense say quit ??« on: January 14, 2014, 10:10 »Common marketing sense tells that the big ones and the small ones( in a niche) will survive. The middle of the road has to find something else or continue for the samurai feeling. Post production PS is already done in the far east for a few dollarcents a picture. I go for niche 18
CanStockPhoto.com / Re: CanStockPhoto is going DT« on: January 13, 2014, 05:38 »
I do recognize that behaviour with DT and sometimes FT and CS do the same. All 3 of them are important to me. FT makes more sales and is my no. 2 at the moment behaing SS. DT might become the nr, 3 if IS keeps on messing around

It is so utterly unprofessional that one might think iS does it on purpose. One might even think... is there a strategy behind the performance of iS?
Reminds me of a John Cleese film.... How to iritate people 21

iS has position nr 3 in my personal earnings ranking right now.
Wonder if Dreamstime will end up on position nr 3 and iS on nr 4 or 5. Which will bring them in my 'upload' danger zone. The competition couldn't have a better start of the Year. Without any effort (except doing their job right). SS, FT and DT will grow in numbers due to the incompetence of the iS board and her shareholders. 23

iStock is underestimating the importance of good communication and the way the communication towards contributors should be.
The main reason for that is the fact that many ( and I mean many) contributors are somehow working as a grahic designer or in touch with graphic designers. The whole situation at iS is backfiring. I dpn't know if IS already knows that you can't fool anybody except yourself any more thats one of the advantages of the internet. 25
General Stock Discussion / Re: My shot used for movie poster-Legal advice needed« on: December 17, 2013, 16:27 »
Some experience from my side (happened to me twice in The Netherlands),
Write a polite letter to the publisher of the poster and explain that you are the copyright owner concerning the material they use. kindly ask them to help you out with some data, like: - where they bought the license - what they paid for it - what license they bought - end so on. Explain them you might be mistaken and that you might have overlooked some information. If they do not show a reaction, call them and ask for the responsible person for information If you are shouted about, you know the case smells like swiss cheese and look for help. give them a chance to buy the proper license (and put some time limits and proof for the reaction) or let them remove all copies. Going to court is allways an option and can be done whenever you think you are not taken serious. Don't forget it is expensive Don't forget they are a copyrightowner themselfes and hate bootlegs and illegal bluerays, dvd's and |
