Hello Group:

Am strongly considering deactivating downloads for SS, mainly out of principle re: the ultra low rates which are becoming more frequent.  I wonder if any of you could offer educated guesses regarding the positive impact of deactivating my SS portfolio, specifically in the area of non-dilution of my exiting portfolio on other platforms?

That is: how feasible / likely might it be that my other portfolios (Adobe, P5 etc) which contain many of those same clips might benefit from not being sold as lowballs at SS?

Thanks

Take corrupt drive out, put in enclosure and connect to Linux machine via USB ; Linux (Ubintu, etc) has less trouble with corrupt Windows partitions

Failing that: EASUS Recovery Wizard Pro ($50 or so) - it really works, I tried them all.

Pond5 / 79 Rejected from a batch of 81 Re: Pond5 review times
« on: January 28, 2016, 02:19 »
Recently had a batch of ** 79 ** video clips rejected from P5 after waiting a very long time. The remaining 2 were returned for reprocessing and a model release, something which was also unusual since I've submitted similar editorial before to P5 without releases.

Never had anything like it before. Before this, occasionally 1 or 2 from a batch of 10 or 15. Many of the same clips were accepted on SS, Fotolia etc. So I agree Pond5 must be tossing buckets of videos out the window to get through their backlog, either that or its the most arcane and unusual 'secret method' I've ever encountered.

Blanket sweep rejection, the likes of which I'd never seen; the reviewer was an Indian animation student, as discovered through a Linkedin search on the reviewers name.

Reasons given were 'camera panning too quickly' - which would be understandable, except that I was using a DOLLY.

(*and it was a slow dolly)

As someone else mentioned, I'm stepping away from Pond5 and letting dust settle and the entire P5 entity reconstruct itself before investing more time (on spec), lest many hours get burnt on submitting for naught.

Well, may submit stills or Audio, but no more video for now.

Something big and strange is happening over there, too bad, I really liked Pond5 - hope they come back to the way they were.
