General Stock Discussion / Docusign for digial releases
« on: September 16, 2020, 10:23 »
Hi,

Do we have any solution that is accepted by major stock agencies that can be completed online after the photo shoot for releases?

I see Shutterstock introducted this https://www.shutterstock.com/blog/digital-model-release, and they use Docusign plaftform (https://www.docusign.com/), anything similar for other players, Adobe stock, Istock, SS?

Thanks!

Just wondering how much is this gonna take?
It's been a week, aren't their profits (?) hurting?

edit: wow 3 minutes later, site is online

^ not that I tried version 16, but seems like it's (beta) free and no notes on it not having any features.

yes, symbio is easy to setup & maintain, but still takes time, esp'ly to add hundreds/thousands of images; I've stopped adding to my site and instead point to SS - simple to do and generates real $

How come? I upload photos and it's easiest of all 'agencies', just drop files on favorite FTP program and they will be ready for sale in minutes. No need to apply model releases and all that jazz, no rejections ...

AND symzio has never taken off - very few artists,  and lacks coverage in entire areas (look what you get for searches on India, Italy, Germany or Paris.  'Grand Canyon' shows 14 images of the Hawaii version!!!!! )  so why would a buyer go there rather than SS et al?

Agreed. We just need to look in mirror :)

To be honest, running symbiostock is not hard at all, and you can get shared hosting very cheaply, I do it here > https://buyshared.net/, works fine. It would be nice if we all supported symzio, since it is already up and running.

So this gets a blog post but changing requirements for MRs doesn't?

What changes?

For me it loads fast, not slow.
Also did you purchase theme? Looks good!

Aren't we denied to upload audio?

Hosting I'm using, and recommending it > https://buyshared.net

Hold on, no one mentioned big copyright problem. He modified image bought(?) from SS, and uploaded that same image on Unsplash! What will Unsplash do about it, and his account in general (Zack Arias was talking about this in his interview with Unsplash creator as potential problem)? Also this instagram guy could be sued by original photographer, right?

I have YN 600 Led light panel, don't use it often tho. Works ok, don't have colormeter to measure color temperature of such, works as advertised ;)

the scary thing is that content on unsplash are really really good...years ahead micro stock and bordering stocksy as far as quality.

sure, that's why nothing sells on microstock, lol

How does this "disabled period" affects your image ranking once it came back online?
Hm today sales regular, like any other day. It's back to normal

24
Flash news, I got my portfolio activated. Reason why they disabled it is - fraudulent purchases. How many, they didn't tell, they will pay me once they figure out ...
So, its good news in the end :)

I was on SS for around 3 years, with portfolio of ~3500 images. All my images got disabled, without any notice: "This contributor has no active images in their portfolio writes when I visit https://www.shutterstock.com/g/milanstojanovic. I can still login into my account.
What I suspect happend is that in late December, out of blue, someone bought 12 EL (out of 14 images in that series), most of those images aren't that popular, and they all looking alike (similar compositions, one cute woman portraits).
At first I thought it's a bug, went here to check if someone posted about same behavior, saw nothing similar. Still since I earned ~250$ in a day, which if a lot more then usual I didn't get my hopes high. December finished, and soon I got regular automated email stating that my earnings have been compound and that I'll receive earnings in full ("regular" sales + those 12 EL). Around ~5th January my portfolio went missing. I wrote to support on several occasions, no replay. I wrote to them yesterday too, on another topic (15th passed by, which is a time I should received a payment), and posted on SS forum:https://forums.submit.shutterstock.com/topic/70862-missing-images-thread-read-this-before-reporting/?page=26&tab=comments#comment-1654335

I'm ok with them ... evaluating is it a fraudulent transaction and such, but what's upsetting is they didn't give me any notice or replied to my support tickets. At the mean time, sales are down :(
Any advice, how to even get them to respond? Did anyone had some situation, how did it end?
Thanks!
