The Levels tool in Photoshop does a good job. Ctrl+L. I forget what menu it's under. Is there a manual of how to get rid of the grey? I also have this grey on my images.

Out of curiosity, did you get a big payday for the illustration recently? Well, I just found out when watching Last Week Tonight with John Oliver....my favorite show. Now my REALLY favorite show.

2 cents. My photos are generally landscapes, buildings, and animals, so I can't speak to isolated object, people, or emotion concept photos. That said...
My "best" photos are not my big sellers. In micro stock, many people are looking for what I think of as purely "functional" images. I have several photos of a historic building up, and the one that sells is a straight on, boring, centered image. The other, more artistic photos, taken at angles and using the rule of thirds, have never sold.
I think if you're someone putting together a brochure or some kind of advertisement using a stock image, you're generally going to want something basic, and not an arty kind of shot. A question a lot of folks post here, and I try to take it to heart is, "What would someone do with this picture? Why would someone buy it?"
In landscapes, you'll probably have a bunch of shots rejected for issues with shadows. I'm actually surprised you had luck with the tent picture; reviewers are often negative about that sort of thing. Overcast is usually not my friend when it comes to getting images approved.

Anything that old is in the public domain, at least in America. You could still face trademark issues, but that would only be on logos.

I know Shutterstock and Dreamstime show you the keywords people are using to find your images, but do any of the other sites?

Although, impressively, all of the posts have been to the off-topic message board. So at least he's courteously obnoxious.

I just had a photo on Shutterstock reviewed and approved in 12 minutes. Am I currently in an alternate universe, or does this happen to any of you at least occasionally?

On resubmitting - Sometimes I realize the rejection was warranted, usually because there is noise in the photo I overlooked. Sometimes I think the reviewer was high and I resubmit.

That took care of it. Thanks.

I love this program. I am having an issue with the latest release. It loads fine, and imports photos fine, but when I go to the Upload screen and then click Start Upload, I'm getting a weird error, and the uploads do not go forward:
"The program can't start because VCRUNTIME140.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

I love your program. It took me a little bit of time to realize I didn't have to save separate backups of every file, but it's been smooth sailing since then.

Hi! First time poster, long time reader... okay, I've only been at this a few months.
I've sold some images on Fotolia, but had not given them my tax information. My perception was they only took withholding when you asked for a check, but in reading posts on here, I realized I was wrong. I've now done their tax stuff, and been approved.
A five year old post here said Fotolia would give me back the withholding on images I'd already sold once I had done the tax stuff, but that hasn't happened. Is that still their policy and it just takes a week or two, or am I out the money?
I'm in the USA, if that makes a difference.
