Computer Hardware / Re: Monitor advice in 2017/2018
« on: December 18, 2017, 04:51 »
Eizo and NEC are still the kings of monitors. Other brands are closing in though. I was surprised to see the latest iMacs perform so well!  with an Eizo or NEC tou will need an external calibrator though!
For video some new 4K screens are incredible. If money is no object go for an Eizo CG, unbeatable!
Some weeks ago I have bought for my wife the last iMac with the 4K monitor. Yes it is a really fantastic monitor, but it should not be used with the luminosity at the maximum, and it is still a mirror.

Eizo are the best, but they cost a kidney
Also Dell makes good monitors for acceptable an price.
Is a $3000 Eizo 6 times better than a $500 Dell?

Yeah, price is really crazy :-\ but maybe, it is better to invest one time and always have the great result in the future..

And I was surprised with info about iMac monitor. What are you going to do? Return it?

Computer Hardware / Monitor advice in 2017/2018
« on: December 15, 2017, 10:08 »
Hi, all! I've seen here the topics about monitors. But technology goes forward every day, so in 2017(almost the beginning of 2018) is better to find out fresh advice. So I what can you recommend? Of course, I've already found some reviews https://photographylife.com/best-monitor-for-photography https://www.bestadvisor.com/best-monitors-for-photographers  of monitors for photographers. But I used to use only my laptop (I am Newbie, indeed), so any advice will be appreceated.

You've done great work. From the first sight, it may seem that you have so many variants of photos' topis. But if it doesn't work, you need to keep experimenting.

Newbie Discussion / Re: Do I need to advertise my photos?

I advertise (I am not sure, though, it is advertisment) just using the social networks. IG and FB work well

Hi Chris.

I liked your site. But I think it can push away new users, because your site opens soooo long. I have very quich internet, and despite of it, it took about 3 minutes, while the site was opening.

« on: December 15, 2017, 09:08 »
Yes, it is called photogrammetry.

The concept is fairly simple, but creating perfect 3D models is a bit trickier, and time consuming.

Here's a (long) video that explains all of it, in great detail. If you really want to learn, I would recommend watching this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4uej9tppsU

That is how the pros do it, and how the best video games today are using it. Most natural elements in the best video games are actually real rocks, trees, grass etc. that have been scanned like this.

---

It's quite a long process to get really good results, with lots of manual work.

If you just want to play around with it and get OK, but far from perfect, results, it's a bit quicker.

The software many professionals use: Agisoft Photoscan. In reality, you'd also need other 3D software like Maya and/or Zbrush to get a usable 3D model.

Thanks a lot for this video!!! I've watched only the half, but already found out more interesting info. Keep watching it :)

I like your photos. Especially, because you have different themes: people, nature, buildings, sailings, emotions. But, maybe. if you see that these themes aren't sold well, you should try to change direction

So true. I've already felt it by myself. At the beginning I was sure that, "Here I am, a super photographer! Since now will earn every day"...yeah, yeah, so naive ;D ;D ;D
