iStockPhoto.com / Re: Video royalty's are worse then images
« on: August 23, 2019, 15:08 »
My last month with them I had istock sell 6 clips and I ended up with around 1.30. That was it for me I removed my portfolio and have been very happy I did. There comes a point where the blatant disregard for contributors is just too much to support.

Shutterstock.com / .60 cent footage??
« on: August 23, 2019, 15:00 »
Today I see shutterstock has sold one of my video's for .60 to me. I just removed my portfolio from istock for simillar footage numbers. Is anyone else seeing footage sales for this low? I'm hoping its a one off because shutterstock has been pretty ok in my book and I would hate to see them go off in the istock/getty direction. Hoping this isnt going to be the new norm.

How do you go about deleting files from istock...footage in particular. I am just so over the low commissions and would rather my work not be on the site.

How do you go about deleting your portfolio from istock getty. I have been looking around their site most the morning and can't find how to go about it.

Wow 14 dollars and change, 33 sales, 6 of which were video sales. I've been getting more and more irritated with istock/getty they are much more difficult to upload to and I'm just starting to feel like a chump giving away my work for next to nothing. I was going to give them another few months but I'm thinking this is it.

Ok guys Im having an issue with video keywords loading into Dreamstime properly. I have been using stocksubbmitter forever and it has always worked just about perfect but here is what is happening now. If I upload photos everything is perfect. photos with titles descriptions and keywords upload and submit with no hitch. But if I upload video. The videos load in but will no longer auto submit. Now if  I go into dreamstime to submit manually I hit commercial first to access the video info. Auto populate is always on which effectively deletes any keywords that I uploaded with. So I figured turn autopopulate off, but all that did was erase all the titles descriptions and keywords for all the videos I uploaded. So even though I did all the work in stock submitter before I uploaded I now have hundreds of videos that all need redone. So, has anyone else had this issue with dreamstime and if so is there a work around or setting that I need to know about. Keywording sucks but having to do it again when the job was done sucks more. :-\

About the same portfolio and DP does about 5% of what my SS sells per month. I would say I'm happy with the dollar amount when I do get sales but they come in much less frequently.

General Stock Discussion / Re: So How was your May?

I had twice as many sales and half as much income as normal. It was just the month of never ending .25 sales. Hopefully June is better.

Alamy.com / Re: all of my photos are being rejected
« on: May 25, 2018, 10:24 »
I have found the best way to deal with alamy for me is to only submit batches of 25 to 50. Wait to see if QC accepts them then move on to the next batch. I would not ever put in too many at a time...it makes those rejections far too demoralizing.

General Stock Discussion / Re: so... pond5 sales??
« on: May 24, 2018, 05:59 »
My views look the same...huge uptick this week. I remember this happened before, i want to say it was around last summer. After that I got a 120.oo extended license correction payment. So i can't be sure but i have always figured that when views went up like this its just pond5 doing internal reviews of the portfolio's looking for missed payments or mistakes. Not sure if that holds water but thats what made  sense to me.

I got the same email. I just signed on with them 2 days ago as a contributor. I was wondering does anyone actually make sales on the site. I really do like the sound of the goals put forward by the company concerning percentage of sales that go to contributors.  However I also saw something about them not using a marketing budget? So, im wondering if they see any traffic or sales. If they can't grow we as contributors wont put our work there only because we wont get a return on our work . I hope  they can pull it out and get some buyers to the site I would like to see them do well.
