I sent Crestock this email about 2 weeks ago:

"
>> Hello. I wish stop selling and delete my images here, and delete my
>> account. Unfortunately, crisis has down my earnings below the
>> surveillance line and I must find another way to sell my designs.
>>
>> Thanks, ...
"
I sent too two more e-mails remembering the question, one with "read confirmation request", but I have no response.

In this site, contributor cant delete his own images. Must request it to an help e-mail.

Crestock continues selling my images. The question is urgent to me, because I have "sell the rights" of one image in Dreamstime and I must stop selling this image in all microstock sites.

What can I do?

Postdata: Excuse me my bad english.

I am still sending images to 5 agencies, but I have send to 9 before. In the future maybe I send to only 3 or 4. Thats remember the evolution of search engines in internet. Survival of the fittest become with 2 or 3 sites alive.

After thinking a lot about this issue, prompted by the concerns of Yuri and others, I have decided to pursue a strategy for my image uploads. My purpose is to maintain a sustainable income in the medium and long term.

The overall objective is to receive for each sale of each image an amount that compensates for the effort to create it, regardless the price for the buyer.

I assign three categories for images, depending on the quality and the time effort: basic, medium and high.

My goal is to earn approximately $ 0.30/download basic image, $ 0.80/download medium image and $ 2/download high image.

My strategy is the next:

ISTOCKPHOTO
Pay Per Download. PDP-only site.

All I can decide here is upload or not upload each image.
It does not interest to me became exclusive because I want to be free to decide about my work.

SHUTTERSTOCK
Subscription. SUBS-only site.

Upload only basic images. Try reduce the other images to basic images.

DREAMSTIME
SUBS obligatory site

The ratio PPD / SUBS (maximum difference in buyers price) is 10 / 1. In this case, the proportion of downloads PPD / SUBS is tolerable for the moment.
Upload all my images.

STOCKXPERT
SUBS optional site

Disable the option SUBs and upload all my images.

CRESTOCK
SUBS obligatory site

The ratio PPD / SUBS (maximum price difference) is 100 / 1. That means the proportion of downloads PPD / SUBS is very high.
Not upload more pictures.

SNAPVILLAGE
SUBS optional site

Disable the option SUBs and upload all the images.
Because I can decide the price of each image, I price at $ 1 my basic images, $ 5 my medium images and $ 10 my high images.

FEATUREPICS
PPD only site

Upload all images.
Because I can decide the price of each image, I price at $ 0,5 my basic images, $ 1,5 my medium images and $ 3 my high images.

In this way, I attempt to foster fair sites, as they offer cheaper my images to the buyers.

Actually I earn about 1,500 dollars a month in microstock. I will continue this strategy for at least 3 months and then value results.

General Stock Discussion / How to defend the contributor rights?
« on: January 08, 2008, 11:42 »
Hello. Im a newbie and very little fish in the microstocks ocean, but im very interested in this market and its opportunities, and Im afraid for the future of this ecosystem.
For the change, if all of us apply a bit of common sense, maybe well create a little space in wich to swim free and protected.
I think there are many contributor profiles and buyers attitudes. If we applicate some simple rules, something like the next, the water can be more sweet for all.

The levels:

enthusiastic contributor:
Only interested in emotional aspects. No rules.

amateur contributor:
Easy rules:
- Complain.
- Upload first to the friendly sites.
- Promote featurepics and stockxpert.

proactive contributor:
- Complain.
- Upload first to the friendly sites.
- Promote featurepics and stockxpert.
- Subscription out at stockxpert and snapvillage
- Upload only downsized or medium/small size image or simple vectors to subscription obligatory sites (Shutterstock, Dreamstime, I23rf, Crestock, Lucky Oliver,...)

professional contributor:
- Dont accept pays to contributors less than 30%.
- Give the fair agencies some exclusive content.
- Try to make istockphoto an image-exclusivity agency (not an artist-exclusivity one).

ultra contributor:
- Upload only to the friendly sites.
- Promote featurepics and stockxpert.
- No upload to subscription obligatory sites (Shutterstock, Dreamstime, I23rf, Crestock, Lucky Oliver,...)
- Dont accept pays to contributors less than 40%.

Youll thing that all of this can be ours simply being exclusive of istockphoto, but contributor exclusivity is like to live in a fishbowl (with a shark as owner), and I wants to be free.

Maybe, like the Are the things going well in microstock? post, everybody who wants to join, should copy the names from the most recent post and put his name and his picture number under his desired level in a new post.

So here is the list:

enthusiastic contributors:

amateur contributors:

proactive contributors:
rosendo (313)

professional contributors:

ultra contributors:
