I just wanted to discuss what you all think about how the IS management is handling this circus. They've completely isolated themselves from anything that has to do with the introduced changes. They simply ignore all the contributors and the site is running like nothing is happening. Are they trying to say "We don't care what you think, so we'll ignore you" or are they unable to come up with a reasonable response - as we've seen all of their attempts so far backfired at them, so maybe they got scared. Are the higher ups not allowing them to respond?

I really don't think what to make of it.

PS: Yeah I know we have a lot of IS topics. Tyler if you think this should go to some other topic please move it.

Adobe Stock / Best sellers

One of my images was purchased quite a few times today so I went to check if it qualified for the best sellers section under the today tab. Didn't find it so I went and checked a few images there. Many of those only had 1, 2, 3, 4 downloads. I always though that the number of downloads count, but it looks like it isn't so. Anyone knows the formula?

iStockPhoto.com / Killer new interface

We have hundreds of features we want to produce on iStock. The problem is time. If we come up with a new feature today, we probably couldn't implement it for 7 or 8 months. Such is life with a site as large and complex as iStock.

We especially have a lot of great interface enhancements. We wanted a way to test and implement them quickly without interfering with the main development track. We also had some experience doing rapid app development in Mac OS X and it had many of the features we were looking for.

This is how 'Dexter' was born (Dexter was our code-name for the project: a 'killer new interface' don't laugh, it took many sleepless nights to come up with that ). For the past 3 months, we've been developing this stand-alone app that allows customers to rapidly find and download iStock content. Here at Macworld, we were finally ready to show it to the world.
