General Stock Discussion / Tracking Images?
« on: August 22, 2022, 17:11 »
Just wondering if people track their acceptance/rejects or simply track what you upload to each site. Personally I've been tracking acceptance/rejects but it is pretty time consuming so thinking about just tracking uploads.

General Stock Discussion / Workflow?
« on: April 08, 2014, 11:04 »
Just wondering what everyone does about submission rejects. Do you keep track of what every agency has online and what they rejected or do you just lump them together as say submitted and not worry what they actually have online or not.
The reason I ask is I've been keeping track but realize what a large amount of time it consumes on the back end.
I've been trying to figure out the pros and cons of each way. It's nice to know in my lightroom database who has what online, but in reality I'm not sure it really helps or is necessary.
Not worrying certainly would speed things up, just upload and move onto the next batch.

Just got this e-mail from my hosting company :P
The only thing I thought was that it is searching my linked databases and that is what is taking so long, and if so wouldn't their servers just be inactive waiting for the results?
Any ideas?

>>System administration has been tracking higher resource usage on your server and has traced some of these issues to your account having longer running mySQL queries.

In a shared environment, most queries should complete in less than a second. Some of the queries related to your account take a lot longer than this to complete and cause latency issues that we are seeing in server response.

Here are examples of such queries:

| xxxxxx | xxxxxxxxx | localhost | xxxxxxxx | Query | 173 | Copying to tmp table | SELECT wp_posts.* , count(distinct tr.term_taxonomy_id) as termcount FROM wp_posts INNER JOIN wp_term_relationships tr ON (wp_posts.ID = tr.object_id) INNER JOIN wp_term_taxonomy tt ON (tr.term_taxonomy_id = tt.term_taxonomy_id) WHERE post_type = 'image' AND (post_status = 'publish') AND wp_posts.ID NOT IN (1713) AND ( tt.term_id IN (756, 757, 758, 54, 55, 56, 58, 276, 342, 68, 72, 73, 134, 311, 74, 79, 82, 83, 256, 90, 91, 37, 38, 44, 820, 286, 93, 94, 225, 226, 320, 100, 101, 260, 121, 108, 109, 110, 111, 40, 39, 123, 265, 122, 117, 118, 560) ) GROUP BY wp_posts.ID
HAVING SUM(CASE WHEN tt.term_id IN (756, 757, 758, 54, 55, 56, 58, 276, 342, 68, 72, 73, 134, 311, 74, 79, 82, 83, 256, 90, 91, 37, 38, 44, 820, 286, 93, 94, 225, 226, 320, 100, 101, 260, 121, 108, 109, 110, 111, 40, 39, 123, 265, 122, 117, 118, 560) THEN 1 ELSE 0 END) > 0 ORDER BY wp_posts.post_date DESC

In order to maintain stability and responsiveness our shared environment, you will need to review your site to see if you can make any changes that can increase the efficiency of these queries. If you cannot control your resource usage, we may be forced to suspend your account, and you will need to find alternative hosting.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation, and feel free to let us know if you have any further questions or if we can be of assistance.<<

Symbiostock - Hosting / Installing ImageMagick
« on: July 26, 2013, 12:49 »
So how do I go about installing ImageMagick on my server. I've installed the wp ImageMagick engine plug in but the image processor is still using GD Library. I assume there may be something I need to install via my cPanel.

Dreamstime.com / Dreamstime Alliances and Partnerships?
« on: April 20, 2013, 11:48 »
Is it better to be in or out of their "Alliances and Partnerships" program.
I just don't want them to be distributing to other Micro sites where I would not only be getting a smaller percentage (split 3 ways) but competing with myself from the other site where I directly upload to.

I've been a RM photographer since the 80's with TIB. I stopped submitting to them when I disagreed with the direction they were taking under the Getty brand. A few years ago I was dropped by them because I did not sign the new contract. By that time I only had 50 images with them. I have been admitted back to Getty under the Photographer's Choice brand which charges $50/image to be in! I have not submitted any images even though I would get 10 free placement images.

I spent last year submitting to another much smaller image exclusive RM agency with limited return on investment with 2300 accepted images. I'm averaging around $100/month profit from them.

I have recently signed up with Alamy, Inmagine and Agefotostock. I only have 270 images on Alamy, 200 on Inmagine and 138 on Agefotostock.

I have many other images that no agency has.

A trip I did last year can be seen on my site plus a bunch of other images that are and are not with any agency. On the following link, non of the images are with any agency yet.

Do you guys think I should upload these images to the Macro sites above or would you think I would be more successful going the microstock route?
